  1. The web is not advanced enough yet. Strides are being made to ensure that this may be possible in the near future
  2. Can you view the music player here? What browsers and OS are you using?
  3. An Android port could bring 0 A.D. to the big screen (console) via the OUYA. As always, the possibilites are endless
  4. Haha... love that reaction. One of the shortcomings of SkecthUp is the scaling of exported models. Really drives me crazy. I used to think it only happened to me.
  5. During the Latin exam today, there was a question regarding Cato and Carthage and then I started thinking and long story short: perhaps give the Romans the ability to deposit salt on fields which either leads to random death of one of the field owner's units or the death of one of the units harvesting the field to create a starvation effect. Ideally I would like sieges in which a walled settlement starves and all units within the walls just die.
  6. I always use do clean before building. I got success this time by replacing the OpenAL framework in ~/Library/Frameworks with the one located in ~/System/LibraryFrameworks
  7. I have installed Awesomium SDK and just updated to Unity 4, but I hardly think that should mess with OpenAL. The game compiled a week ago ( on Dec 9). I opened the OpenAL.framework directory from my /Library and its there, with the date modified as the December 9 (the day I last compiled). I even opened the executable but in Terminal I get this: iMac:~ Geek$ /Library/Frameworks/OpenAL.framework/Versions/A/OpenAL ; exit; Launch of "OpenAL" failed: the PowerPC architecture is no longer supported. logout [Process completed]
  8. Last night I got similar build errors on OSX 10.7.5 I also omit atlas when I update workspaces (using --disable-atlas) I'll try again today and see if it was just an isolated incident or not. Edit: it happened again and here is the output.
  9. I'll look into it. But then again the forum is scheduled for update... Nice video BTW. A bit too fast but I like the building set and the music
  10. Regarding territories, they add realism to the game. Yes many ancient peoples had outposts... thats why the game has outposts. But the majority of buildings were within established territory. Honestly I'd love to have walls that align with the territory border automatically; I have to do it manually. Yes... I'm lazy.
  11. Even today Indian bazars are open and have cloth covered stalls.
  12. Works for me... also checked it here.
  13. Oh I can see that its fun from the video Watched some more videos and I'm sold on the idea!
  14. Do I always have to run export CC=llvm-gcc-4.2 CXX=llvm-g++-4.2 before updating? Is there a way I can make this setting permanent?
  15. Love it. Like Lion said, it takes naval warfare to a new level
  16. Josh I'm looking at your model in SketchUp and i like it. However the windows might be problamatic. In monochrome mode, one can see that should the camera point at the window, the interior wall would not be rendered. Perhaps make the wall double faced (offset the interior wall by making a rectangle underneath and using the offset tool [i believe its shortcut key is F]). Also I think its logical (although no historical evidence to back it up) that small buildings such as a mill would not have stone roofs but rather cheap wooden ones or even flat roofs.
  17. @ Evropi Yes, I ran it through the validator multiple times But standards like HTML5 and CSS3 aren't released yet Most of the errors flagged by the HTML validator are caused by third-party plugins; all of the CSS errors are caused by the third-party plugins. The website theme is however very standards-compliant
  18. You forgot yourself Aviv Also I'd like to add that the theme is in fact available to the public under GPL2. Any feedback you guys can provide relating to any errors or things we may have overlooked would be much appreciated.
  19. Strict interpretation vs loose interpretation of history... sounds very familiar to me (I just finished the section about John Marshall in US History). Historical accuracy has been a great part of the game. While some argue taking the swastika out is ruining that, I say not really. The Mauryans in fact had other symbols as well. On the other hand, some are suggesting it is offensive to include such a symbol. However, by including the symbol and the reasoning and motives behind them, we can educate the ignorant (for lack of a better word) people. They can learn the original meaning of the symbol and if they don't like it being in the game, nobody is stopping them from removing it (its open source...). I honestly don't care and it being included in the game and it shouldn't be a big deal to divide the community over such a small issue. As for the naked units, I suppose its history. But then again, if 0 A.D. pursues a PEGI rating, that might have consequences later (such as being bumped up to PEGI 18). Really guys, there are much cooler and important things to 0 A.D. For example, see the completed alpha 12 tickets
  20. Sadly (or gladly because war has led to so much innovation) much of human history has been bloody murder and slaughter of fellow humans; thus, this is a game of ancient warfare... If people want to get offended then they can. Or perhaps they can choose to learn more and for lack of a better word, be less ignorant on the matter. I really view this game as a tool for education in a fun way and this can be part of the educational experience. There aren't any legal issues (as zoot pointed out), and if somebody is offended, then they don't have to play the game. Simple as that
  21. How is progress on the walls? Personally I think they should be wooden but perhaps have stone foundations?
