  1. I guess that Barcodes is referring to Windows servers crashing at around 30 minutes. I have noticed that 4v4 team games tend to use about 4 GB of memory (on a Linux system) around the 30 minute mark. I think that the problem that Barcodes is describing is caused by the memory limits of a 32-bit Windows process. The fix is to release a 64-bit build for Windows. Barcodes, to confirm, please tell us whether the players who crash around 30 minutes are using Windows. Also please ask those players to open Task Manager around 30 minutes and watch the memory usage of the 0ad process. Tell us whether it's close to 4 GB, such as 3.8 GB or higher, before crashing.

  2. It is pretty loosely 40 minutes. Sometimes it is 36 mins, sometimes, 42, etc. Another thing is that when this happens, it also seems that spectators are sometimes OOS, even though they are not players. It is an interesting problem, since relatively few games reach ~40 minutes.

  3. https://code.wildfiregames.com/D5202 This patch is committed for a27, and changes the immortals quite a bit. Rather than reverting them to standard champions like those that many civs have, they are cheaper, weaker, and retain their weapon switching. This allows the Persian player to field a lot more of the immortals. I also removed their speed penalty, which was a little excessive, and slightly reduced their switch time to 6 seconds from 8. I could make this into a community mod patch if you like. It would be worthwhile for testing anyway.

  4. Added some war paint to the elephant, but I have yet to figure out how to make it the player color (it is supposed to be blue here). UPDATE: Figured it out at last.

  5. I'll be sharing some casual modding work of mine for Delenda Est in this thread. I'll start with a Noba war elephant unit I made for fun.I I might create a new texture for the elephant so that it has war paint matching the player's color later.

  9. I think there could be more large stone deposits. Stone can be hard to locate after I've exhausted the initial supply close to my starting base.

  11. That's the problem with asking players, they're going to always want the way the game was before, like when they got used to alpha 23. We have to force the advance sometimes, there are people who will like the nostalgia of AoE I and II with the elephants used as battering rams, but you have to leave those archaisms (I mean it's obsolete) aside sometimes( not always) I like the concept of the scythed chariots of AoE I for those of 0 AD, at least their role and that they stop being a copy paste of mounted archer, we have many units that do that role even within the same faction.

  12. I think that is just how the game is supposed to be like ? If the pike/spear unit doesnt kill the jav cav players just spam cav jav and u are gg and have no option how to react ? Every intresting rts that shall not be just about spamming a signle unit, that has strategic depth and allows putting some thought into army composition to have any impact should have at least soft counter system ! If the pikes bother u just make units such as spear inf, sword inf, inf jav, archer cav that should all do decent vs pikes ! So i think there really isnt any problem.

  13. Hey! I've just though of an idea on how to use fourm points! What if a 'store' was added to WFG's website and people could spend ponints on things like 'buying' a 0 A.D. CD - the CD would be mailed to him from the nearest 0 A.D. member. Or another one is what if someone could buy a modpack - for example: he says I want the Greek archer to look like this - he would include a vivid description from which one of WFG's staff artists would draw a concept art that would be emailed the the buyer, the buyer would then say if it look right or needed certain adjusting - and then the modeling team and texture team would finish it and it would be emailed to the buyer. These are just 2 suggestions for the store, I am sure that there would be many more - that is IF WFG accepts the idea. Also,things like buying a CD would be very expensive to your point buget - just so you don't get flooded with requests for things like this. Also, this is not real money - just forum points - real money would cause lots of problems. Questions? Comments? Bugs?
