Hello everyone! I'm here to share some amazing gameplay footage of our project! It's now possible to create riverside villages without the need for a civic center! Docks have territory space, and as they evolve, the territory increases. In addition, hunting lodges can be built anywhere on the map. And that's not all! The houses also passively generate leather, making resource management even more efficient. Now, we're working on the next step: creating defenses to protect our villages! Share your impressions and comment on what you think of the project! We're looking forward to hearing your opinions!2 points

I have played many of the available maps and wanted to create something new. I like not only making attractive maps, but ones that add some new twist to the game play. I though of mazes and other ways to make maps more challenging. I sort of went that way, using terrain to control movement Here's what I've come up with. It would be great to get some feedback on this. Nile Delta Conquest 1.xml 1745219202_NileDeltaConquest1.pmp1 point

The first image is soldiers from the second part of the Middle East, Parthia and Palmyra. The last one is a Numidian soldier.1 point

Since it is an open source project, all soldiers it employs will have to be a volunteer militia force. Alternatively, it could work with a model in which access to the game requires a certain number of years in its military. Either of these methods could protect the game from its most immediate threats.1 point

Spoiler, it's a lot of fun. Now that I've spoiled the entire premise of this post, I wanted to thank the development and art team for making something truly unique. I've been following 0 A.D. since I got interested in Linux (around 7-8 years ago), because it was the first package listed in Synaptic, the old GUI package manager. I couldn't play it at the time, my computer barely ran Windows 7, let alone an RTS game full of eye-candy detail. Well, now I can, and the feeling of finally being able to play THAT ONE FREE GAME I've always wanted to play is phenomenal. The fact that this game is free (as in freedom!) is a miracle. I can't even fathom how much work went into this game. Technically, it feels the most like Age of Mythology, while gameplay is most similar to Age of Empires 2. The choice of civilizations is at first daunting, but each one plays similarly enough that you could just pick any and learn as you go. One feature stands out, and it's not intuitive at first. Citizen Soldiers (CS) are both your workers and your basic soldiers. They cost Wood in addition to Food, and some of the swordsmen types can even cost Metal. They might be weak, but they're easy to mass. You would use them primarily to gather Stone and Metal, with few of them on Wood (females gather Wood only slightly slower than males). Since females will be your primary gatherers in the early game, you should avoid making too many of CS in the Village phase. The game begins in earnest in the Town phase, when more of your soldiers become available. Most champion units are still locked behind City phase. More importantly, siege engines can also only be built in this phase (baring a few civs), so your options at storming the enemy towns are limited until the City phase. This might be my only complaint so far. In Age of Empires 2 or Age of Mythology, you get access to siege weapons in the 3rd phase. In addition, 20 Knights can level the Town Center alone, if it's not defended. In 0 A.D., attacking a Civic Center with 20 Town phase cavalry units will likely result in utter failure, wasting resources. Maybe this is a good thing, maybe not. It depends on what kind of player you are. But players should get an option that is not simply "move to the City phase ASAP". Other than that, I had a blast playing Romans, Athenians and Persians so far. I'll try some other civilizations (SPARTAAAAANS! READY!) and ultimately decide on my "goto" civ. This is really a fun game to play on a relaxing rainy day. Absolute chill when compared to the APM madness in StarCraft. And I love it. Thank you so much.1 point

There was no free space on my PC. This caused corruption of the data in Documents\My Games\0ad. Uninstalling did not delete the file, and reinstalling did not improve the problem. Deleting the data in Documents\My Games\0ad and reinstalling resolved the problem. Thank you!!1 point

Hi @zaza, welcome to 0ad. There is no campaign currently in the game. If you are looking for Single Player more RP content you can check mods. I'm guessing you got a26 from your package manager so you can go to Settings => Mods => Download mods and try Delenta East for example (most relevant to for SP RP content probably). You might also look at Hyrule Conquest. Have fun.1 point

Hey @mod_3d, I've tried playing your mod and watched your AI play one game against Hard Petra. Some impressions: 1) I've played against Mauryans, and they made no siege whatsoever. Some elephants only. His attacks were tickling my forward Fort, until I went out and crushed him. 2) The bot heavily prefers making a lot of citizen soldiers, to the detriment of nearly everything else. While this means that he will have a huge army, it will be fairly weak by the time I arrive. 3) The bot expands late, hurting its map control. I usually don't make a lot of CCs, but I had 4 of them while the AI had only 2. 4) In the AI vs AI match, the bot played as Romans. While his boom was much better, he got stuck in the late game, failing to finish off his opponent and amassing a huge stockpile. It just kept making CCs until I quit. All in all, the bot is much better in early to mid game, but Petra is still more stable in the late game. She is also more threatening, because of the siege engines she likes to make. Thanks for making a cool bot for us. It microes very well.1 point

The death of this game has been a long time coming and is truly inevitable. First, the heat death of the universe, something difficult to precisely calculate, will happen in roughly 10^106 years, which I doubt 0 AD will survive. Even if we prepare for that, there is the more immediate problem of the sun depleting its hydrogen reserves in approximately 5 billion years. Unless our team develops proper technology to survive in space, I think 0 AD will fail. In a similar vein, the Andromeda Galaxy's collision with the Milky Way in 4.5 billion years may pose a serious risk to the survival of the community. For these reasons, I regret to say that 0 AD is doomed.1 point
