  1. JagsusIndia (Arup) is a distinguished, experienced 0ad player with extensive knowledge of all aspects of gameplay details. Over the hundreds of matches that I have played with him, he has experimented with every single civ and unit type; he has deployed every known theoretical strategy into real TGs on top of his own innovations. He has unparalleled knowledge of unpopular strategic nuances and gameplay on non-standard, extreme settings, especially about the Wonder. Therefore, he will be an exceptional balancing advisor and I will support him with technical operations. As an ex-balancing advisor, I sincerely believe that he will excel at his role and contribute momentously to fixing the balancing issues for the next release!

  4. I have somewhere around 300 matches or more played in the multiplayer lobby in the days since march 10, probably the highest out of anyone? Idk, @Dunedan can maybe confirm if they have a system that can detect it. I have a ton of balancing advices to make, and so I want to become a balancing advisor. how do I become one?

  5. @real_tabasco_sauce slow down all cavalry. it doesn't make sense to think armored cav is so much faster than human fighter. I am pretty sure the speed difference is not realistic. Look at historical patch for suggestions and specifica

  7. I think you can just get in touch with @real_tabasco_sauce and help with the community mod, or maybe @borg- is looking for help as well Most of the work will be done on Gitea ideally

  8. I have never worked with the statistics tracker in the past, unfortunately, but I'll keep it in the back of my mind.

  9. Hey @wowgetoffyourcellphone, this may be a good candidate for the Galatian wonder: "The ‘oak sanctuary’ of Galatia, the Celtic province of Asia Minor, as described by Strabo (1st cent. ad), the Roman geographer. A council of the Galatians met here." https://www.oxfordreference.com/display/10.1093/oi/authority.20110803095732249

  10. I'm going to release the next Delenda Est with the next Empires Ascendant release (R28). Reason being is that finishing stuff up and bundling it all for mod.io is a really involved process for a mod of this size. In fact, I have to pester poor @Stan` to help me resolve issues every time, and I think his time and effort is best used for other things. Also, there are a lot of loose ends not tidied up that I want to finish before a next release. I'd like to get the post-game charts working again. They haven't worked properly almost since the beginning of my mod years ago. I'd like to get that resolved once and for all if someone like @Vantha or @trompetin17 or anyone else would like to assist. I also recently (ill-advisedly, lol) added the Galatians civ to the mod, since they can share a lot of assets with the Gauls and Britons. I need to find at least 3 relevant heroes for them and come up with bonuses for them all, and decide on a Wonder. I think a cool wonder for them could be the destroyed ruins of Delphi, maybe, or something they built once they settled in Asia Minor. Needs more research. I'm also behind on designing and implementing the bonuses for some of the other civs' heroes as well. Most of them are done, but again, there are loose ends. And then, there are things I'm helping with for Empires Ascendant, such as adding Gendered-Citizens to the game, hopefully to be included in Release 28. These things, plus the waxing and waning of my own available time and interest, slow down my progress with Delenda Est. Not to mention, I'm pretty sure I have ADHD.

  11. Palisades are not cheap enough either. They also take too long to build. Closing up your base (or vulnerable parts) just because you think cav might be coming gives you too big of an economic disadvantage. And reacting with palisades after the first raid hitted just means the first raid did even more damage. Also they are paper to anything melee. Is that not what they are currently doing? If I need 100 citizen archers to actually one-shot a champion cavalry unit, Id say each one is doing more of a "harassment" than a "killing". Also, almost all units have armor? If cavalry was 1.5x as quick than infantry, it would still be quicker? Just for reference; the fastest base cav unit in AoE2 (the hussar) is 1.5x as fast as their counter (the halberdier). If it works for them, it might just work for us.

  12. This I think is the biggest point. So many resources are poured into AI just for some dude to save 5 minutes writing a non-important email. It's very silly, though I might be biased because I like writing.

  13. There will be some uses for "AI", like pattern recognition or assisting experts, but I expect the bulk of it going the way of NFTs or blockchains. How many times have you heard of blockchains this year? And cooking the planet to be advised to eat glue or rocks doesn't convince me.
