  1. 1. Just call it Beta. It's the first beta release. 2. Balance (balance has been improving significantly and we should keep this trend) 3. Biggus (some Roman sounding name but suggests that this release will be a big change) 4. Beotians. Add this civ to justify

  3. Brihannala was the name assumed by Arjuna, one of the Pandava brothers, during their year of incognito exile in the Mahabharata, where he disguised himself as a eunuch and taught music and dance to Princess Uttara of the Virata kingdom. Here's a more detailed explanation: Incognito Exile: After being forced into exile by the Kauravas, the Pandavas, including Arjuna, had to live in disguise for a year to avoid detection. Brihannala's Role: Arjuna, as Brihannala, taught music and dance to Uttara, the daughter of King Virata, and spent his time in the inner chambers of the palace where the ladies lived. Reason for Disguise: Arjuna disguised himself as Brihannala to avoid being recognized as the famous warrior and to carry out his duties in the Virata kingdom. Mahabharata Episode: This episode is a significant part of the Mahabharata story, highlighting the Pandavas' cunning and resilience during their exile. may be you will like this @Seleucids Legendary Archer of Mahabharatha in Disguise

  9. After several playthoughs and noticing some issues, I've made some changes. There were some mobility issues due to dense foliage or swamps. On all the maps, it is now possible for larger units such as elephants and siege rams to move throughout the map without needing ships to transport them. So the original intention of the map layout is still valid. Also the issue of player 1 being cut off on the 4 player maps is now fixed. Updated map files are in the original post

  10. Thanks for these great ideas! I suggest we continue collecting proposals for a while and then try narrowing it down and have a poll in the end. Before naming, there would certainly be the question, if the next release will be as comprehensive as Agni with substantial changes of art, gameplay, balance, game engine, and/or civs (and take as long to define and develop).

  18. Frankly, for my simple SP gameplay, capturing is quite a convenient and fun strategy as it enables getting a foothold in enemy territory and also get resources (=new troops) from nearby.

  19. I have something that might be a radical idea. Get rid of the capture system all together. It needlessly complicates the game. Just balance out the buildings so they are less susceptible to non-siege units, especially pierce damage. The game should be fun, first and foremost. Capturing building is not fun, it's a chore and another thing that needs to be coded/balanced against. The only exception could be neutral buildings that don't belong to a player at the start of a game. For buildings that become outside of a player's territory influence, make them rapidly lose hit points and burn down unless the player reclaims the territory.

  20. No, plenty of original effort went into the towers and forts in 0ad. The fact of the matter is that this is a videogame, and making everything into a reality simulator makes the game boring. For example, lets make all the buildings take hours to build. Nice. Also, we can let sicknesses randomly kill a unit every 5 seconds. Nice.
