like this? I choose a different approach and used CC0 textures (from here: https://ambientcg.com/view?id=MetalSubstance008) instead of procedural materials. Same problem though, looks fine in blender but bad in atlas. I'll have to wait for Stan. Also I'm struggeling with bringing the metalness/roughness to atlas, I didn't really get how to bake the spec map. Just baking a roughness map doesn't seem to work. apollo-0_27.1.zip2 points

@real_tabasco_sauce and I did some testing tonight. We tested it using 120 skirm armies on both sides. In the first test, we had 20 units garrisoned in CC. In the second test, had 0 units garrisoned in the CC. Although the defender seemed to do better when ungarrisioned, the effect wasn't super dramatic (something like 28ish units left over when garrisioned vs 40ish units when ungarrisioned). This addressed a lot of my late game concerns. If people like the idea, I think we should try it. If people prefer the current/old way, we can revert in a28 (or the community mod). I expect gameplay will be impacted in more ways than we can immediately tell but the community can weigh in on whether those changes are desirable later. TLDR: My concerns were present but I don't think they were dramatic enough to warrant blocking this patch. Up to the community to decide if it's desirable.2 points

I think that "inflammable" is not the word to use here. Inflammable means capable of being set on fire; combustible; flammable. Scroll down at this dictionary entry to see an explanation that people tend to think that "in-" means the negative, but it doesn't in this case. Instead, I suggest using "nonflammable" or "noncombustible".1 point

ROBOTS UPRISING MOD Hey everyone ! I’m writing this post to suggest you to take part in the creation of a futuristic/ robotic mod in 0 A.D. Stan, former 0 A.D. project leader () has been in contact with my professional formation center to create a mod in 0 A.D. So we decided to make this project become true last year but we didn’t succeed to finish the project in time so we chose to continue it in 2024 with a totally new team ! The idea of the project is to create a completely futuristic mod, with spaceships and robots, like animals or bipeds like Mechas for example. For now, we are 6 in the team. So we are seeking some people who are interested in the project to help us on the artistic part : 3D models, textures, animations. Good to know, our mod is currently available on mod.io in a previous version (end of last year) named “Robots Uprising”. I linked a .pdf which is a short and translated in english Game Design Document of the mod in general. We are working on it so it's normal if there's no word on the Humans civilization or if it's not complete, we will do it soon. We are a french team so be kind if there are some mistakes in the following document ! Don’t hesitate to contact me here or in dm if you want to participate OR if you want to have more information on the project, it will be a pleasure to answer your questions ! 389577014_RobotsUprisingGDD_Eng.pdf1 point

I havent stopped writing, I just started working on many articles simultaneausly and until now havent finished any. Here are two: (the second text is what i meant: not specifically about the unit, but related, so we can link from the Champion Spearman to this article) Siege tower (a mixin): https://github.com/TheShadowOfHassen/0-ad-history-encyclopedia-mod/pull/96 and Guards in the Han capital (Champion Spearman9 : https://github.com/TheShadowOfHassen/0-ad-history-encyclopedia-mod/pull/971 point

No, it's not. Defc0n decided to shut down GenieBot, and ModerationBot no longer responds to profanity because auto-unmuting isn't working. I think that a substantial portion of the moderation bots will need to be changed in order to fix it in a reliable manner. It's on the todo list, and that list is long. We can use more volunteers to help with development work. Today I talked to noogler on IRC, who knows Python, C++, JavaScript and Java. He's interested in contributing. Hooray! Good thing I'm in the habit of having notifications enabled on IRC and actually responding to people there. In the meantime, lobby helpers are watching chat history occasionally and muting people when infractions are excessive. Please ping us for a quicker response to infractions.1 point

Hey @AIEND Thank you for the feedback I'm all for mentioning the Chinese name in the texts, just like I did with the Greek names for Athens and Sparta. The problem for me is that I don't speak Chinese. And many times how something actually was called often mismatches with the SpecificName which is often only a literal word by word translation into Chinese. But if people think it's worth it I can include them nevertheless. The mangonel is a good example: in game it is called "Toushi Che" which seems like a direct translation of the word 'mangonel' or 'trebuchet' into Chinese. I doubt that was the word used in the Han dynasty. The mangonel in the game is actually also not only a "礮Pao" (as you said), but a "旋風砲Xuan Feng Pao" or only "旋風 Xuan Feng" translating to "whirlwind (catapult)". I've been told before that my descriptions are too detailed and complicated sometimes. If we actually can actually put images or even animations above the article, these precise descriptions aren't as much needed as they were back when I wrote the text. In regards to the text about religion, thanks pointing out some inaccuracies. I never was happy with that text and wanted to rewrite anyway. Finding good sources on this topic was quite a challenge. If you're fine with it, I will rewrite it based on your description (of course not without crediting). You can also write it entirely yourself or just leave out the passages addressing me and use it like that.1 point

Thanks, @AIEND for the feedback. It's really hard to find good resources on the Han dynasty, so its good to find someone who has studied this. It would be great if could go through all our written articles (found Here: https://github.com/TheShadowOfHassen/0-ad-history-encyclopedia-mod/tree/main/0-ad-history-mod-package/simulation/templates/structures/han and Here: https://github.com/TheShadowOfHassen/0-ad-history-encyclopedia-mod/tree/main/0-ad-history-mod-package/simulation/templates/units/han If we messed up, please let us know, and I and @Vantha will correct them. Also, we haven't completely finished with the civilization, so if you want to help us write you are more than welcome. One thing is, I especially want to know if there were any problems with the Han Female Citizens. It was really hard to find sources for that article. I had originally wanted to quote this source https://zh.wikisource.org/wiki/女誡 but there were no translations available and while I consulted a version ran through Google Translate that translation doesn't cut the standards I have for inclusion in the encyclopedia, and without an expert on the language I wasn't going to make changes.1 point

What version of Parrot? As far as I know, Parrot is based on Debian. In the Debian repository we have: Bullseye: 0ad 0.0.23.1-5 Bullseye-backports: 0.0.26-2~bpo11+1 Bookworm: 0.0.26-3 Answers to your problem: 1. Update Parrot OS or 2. Temporarily add the entry: bullseye-backports to sources.list.1 point
