  1. Another idea would be to treat weapons and armor and other things like ungatherable resources. Using the barter mechanic already in the game, you can convert wood and metal at the Blacksmith to spears, swords, chain mail, etc. "resources" which are then added to the player's stockpile. Hoplites then don't cost "50 food and 50 wood", they cost X amount of spear resource and Y amount of shield resource, etc. and -Z food per minute. At the corral, I could see converting the Food resource into the Horse resource, so that cavalry also cost an amount of Horse resource.

  2. WIP: Rome biremis says 2nd punic war but as it doesn't match the trireme quinquereme style i leave it for @wowgetoffyourcellphone if he wants it for delenda est. This will be the rome bireme, matching the actual one + trireme style

  3. Eae, I suggest here an unformal eae rating for op player. You can compute your own aea rating using the simple following formula: eae rating = (Number of times you won againt the top player)/(Number of times you played against that top player) If we call this top player borg- for example, then borg- would have a constant score of 0,5 and he would be the benchmark to beat. Other players would have a score between 0 and 0,5. For those with a 0 score, keep trying beating the top player or just keep on having fun! 4. Mod that shows you all the maps in a grid for game-setup/ease of use/map selection. Mapp browser mod is now included in the mod AutoCiv version >=0.5.0 Link:

  5. From what I have read in the Osprey articles, majority of the Arab fleet was composed of the Byzantine ships that was captured in the former Byzantine occupied Egypt. Maybe we could just re-use the Byzantine ships that you previously modeled. It will be up to you though, if you want to model those awesome ships and boats.

  6. Hello and welcome to the forum! Unfortunately I suppose that we can't allocate more than 4GB of memory per game. Because we compile the game and depended libraries (among them SpiderMonkey) as a 32bit application. There're few ways to allocate more, but it costs more and requires low level changes in the game/SpiderMonkey. I think there is a limit of 1 million elements for standard arrays, because usually an element costs at least 4 bytes (standard int32), it means 4GB of memory. You could allocate up to 4 million elements by Int8Array, but it won't solve your problem in common case. I can suggest to try compile the game in 64bit mode (but I don't know, would it work or not), or to manage AI by a separate 64bit process, or try to optimize your algorithm to fit into 4GB of memory.

  7. Trompetin17 made his third release candidate for Mac that still crashes on OsX Mavericks. Elexis commited some fixes and change to UI to enable or disable TLS. Itms will start looking into packaging the game for Linux and windows soon. If that goes alright I all also make a Windows portable version of 0AD
