  1. I took care of this badboy since this task was trickier than the other seleucid units textures needed. Hope you like it:

  2. Thinking about it a bit more , the thing that actually is the worst to me is that the video is starting automatically. It's more than a little annoying , but more importantly it means that someone visiting our forums doesn't get a chance to choose whether or not to view the video. To me that makes a big difference. If someone has chosen to click on a video to view it they do at least have some responsibility for seeing the ads.

  3. Might want to download some of the multiplayer replays shared to see how dedicated players build their base and grow a big population quickly. It is important to find the right counters to enemy units and become familiar with the mechanics and little tricks. Might not be the current alpha, but the build order is still valid:

  4. Forgot to mention the second-most important part I wanted to include in the post When you post a link that can be embedded you should be asked whether you want to embed it or post it as a link In other words, I personally think we should do/recommend that for Twitch videos, at least as long as they auto-play.

  5. So here's what I did: Start a game and made all my units to build 1 house. Saved the game and exited it. (At this point, I have 1 Replay, and 1 Saved Game) Now, I loaded the Saved Game. Made another house and then Exited the Game. (Now this produces another Replay) The new replay treated this as a whole new game and only displays me building only one house and as if I didn't build anything before that. I don't play svn, so I don't know if this was patched already.

  6. Hi, thanks for the report! I opened a ticket for the issue. That had been noticed in multiplayer games but not in the situation you described.

  7. I guess ideally you'd be able to click on them without holding Alt? I don't know if there is some reason why they are not selectable currently.

  8. The reference has red cloth that covers the ears. Could we possibly make a player colored cloth that covers the ears to break up the mass of gold? Amazing work, btw!

  9. Siege units work quite well against fortresses. Rams are probably the easiest to use. Make sure to fully upgrade them for the best effect. If you are using regular units to take a fortress, you might want to hold the CTRL key down when you right-click to attack a fortress. This will change the mouse cursor to a sword instead of the two crossed flags and allow you to attack the fortress instead of trying to capture it. Because of the difficulty of capturing a fortress full of units, destroying it is often a good option. There are some special units that have a higher then normal crush damage and are particularly effect when used against structures. Here are a few: melee war elephants, stone slingers, and the Mauryan club champion. However, there are some tricks to make capturing buildings much easier. First, capture attack is not the same as regular attack. Champion units usual have around 5 capture attack regardless of type class (archer, cavalry, etc.) while the regular soldiers usually only have a capture attack of 2. Many heroes add 2 extra capture attack for nearby units (noted in the tooltip when you first train them), so choose a hero that offers this and keep the hero nearby the soldiers trying to capture the building. Buildings are a lot easier to capture when they have been damaged, so you can weaken the structure first, and then try to capture it. If that is taking too long, then further weaken it and try to capture it again.

  10. This new skin might benefit from a new howdah, the transition from the old one to the new skin doesn't look quite right, especially the grey one.

  11. Wouldn't that overload it? Front mask is the only part of the texture that is not mirrored, since it would be very noticeable. It has the same form and features of the references we got. The details I added apart from the references are the big scratches for high-level detail and the rivets around the eyes for low-level detail. Here's a closer screenshot:

  12. It's really nice ! Maybe you should add some more details to the front helmet though, it does seem quite ... flat?

  13. The problem is that you can't make it work with values nobody said what they mean, nor anybody wrote the AI code to deal with them: why would you believe that an additional value would mean even sparser? it certainly depends on the kind of resource added, how useful it is to take it into account for dropsite position and any other need of the modder. So the only solution now is to not treat these additional values (as was done before, possibly adding a warning only printed once and not one by entity). Replacing the integer values by string is certainly a good idea.

  14. Packing the video in a spoiler block should also prevent the video from starting automatically.

  15. Oh, I don't see any of that. No commercials, video starts playing when I scroll until it's on frame. The only thing is a link to twitch with the embed. I guess it's a thing of Adblocker

  16. That still a pretty big and vague thing to say though, I mean it could mean anything from a special ability/tech for a civ, to something applied to one or more buildings, to something depending on territory, to something else I guess. I personally don't have much of an opinion for or against either of them, though I'd say I*d prefer something linked to e.g. houses or some specific building over something more general/tied to territory. That way you would have to spend something for each increase in income, and for that matter can be more strategic about e.g. where you build your houses. If it's just territory it feels as if players would be encouraged to spend a lot of time putting their buildings just the right distance from each other so they'd get the maximum territory. And that doesn't sound interesting at all, having a reason to careful with the houses, and value them more, could certainly be interesting though

  17. Awesome! If you have some time you may want to da a video about it with in-game cutscenes: http://trac.wildfiregames.com/ticket/3301

  18. It was because I had the players set to gaia instead of their proper player number

  19. Steam tends now to have the habit of releasing broken games, or too far from beta games, making it so there are only that on the market. I'd rather 0ad be not one of them in the current state

  20. Putting 0 A.D. on Steam has come up a couple of times, for example here, and here. Unless the team's position has changed, the perspective is that bringing 0 A.D. to Steam would require a more mature version of the game. The current work-in-progress state of the game might be detrimental to the public's opinion, which could hurt the long term prospects. I don't think it's ruled out for a (near) final version of the game.
