  1. I think your definition big temple is smaller than my big temple. haha, well this was a fun way to spend a Saturday, at least. I would love to squeeze in some fountains, but I'm already really pushing the wonder size limit...

  2. alright, as it stands, a battering ram does more damage to my pike formation than a freight train. I don't understand why we went back to the pierce+hack hybrid for spears and pikes. It should be melee - ranged - and siege, these added mixed types makes pikemen obsolete late game. They make wonderful heavy infantry, but the seleucids have no barracks units suitable to take down siege equipment, and as I see it, melee units have to beat siege weapons if they close with them. all siege needs to be situational. that said, what would you guys think of a mantlet unit? I hear a lot of talk of nerfing defense and ranged units, a slow pierce armor aura siege unit might do the trick?

  3. A lot of the stats in the game are weird. The pierce+hack of spears makes things unclear and muddle, and is one example. Vision and archer ranges are extreme and create imbalances. Costs are out of control, with many units and techs costing 3 or 4 resource? Battering rams are TANKS. Situation is getting way far afield as they say.

  5. @LordGood, the horses were also smaller back then (some were around big pony height ... maybe we should just use your ponies after all ). But then again, men were also smaller ...

  6. Lordgood and if you added the gardens as separate buildings, you know as special building or eyecandy.

  7. I couldn't stream today since it would have been a very fragmented session, but I managed to refine the horse animations, now with 100% more unit.

  8. Meanwhile, a simplier version can be made. It's a matter of organization and some map making, no need for new features. A tournament could be made with x maps (I would say 3) with 3vs3 players (for example). Each tournament could be a historical one with three major battles with or without some triggers. The winning side could have some bonus units/eco/whatever you want for the next scenario. That could be announced in the homepage and other media. Broadcasting, youtubers and polls (for who will win) could add some excitement, and could bea way to make some advertising for the game. Then, every game it's finished, it could be a new article/video explaining the battle and showing the results. Balancing could be the only problem. But just for fun.

  9. True, but it is, as mentioned above, against all the other major RTS games. Like that you aim for very short queues.

  10. Mantlet units would give more diversity to ram-only civs.

  11. Those aren't seams, actually, the AO baked all weird. I probably just need to tweak it, or have a larger texture to bake onto. Statue of Apollo was planned, already pulled back the awnings and everything, but I spent all my time realizing the relief sculptures into the sides haha I want to get a bronze statue into the little temple too

  12. Some fountains or pools on the sides would work. Looks great though. Can maybe just call it "Temple of Apollo at Daphne". Maybe have golden statue of Apollo inside. EDIT: Watch your seems on the columns. Maybe turn columns so seams face toward wall.

  13. I think the only issue is the man:horse ratio haha. Ofc sacrifices need to be made for the sake of the RTS format, but boy is that a tiny horse! Excellent animations though, Enrique!

  14. There is? I haven't really noticed much placeholder art (only a few structures repeat graphics of others). Is there a list of buildings with placeholder art?

  15. There are some nice ideas here, but also some that need improvement. At a start of a campaign, an emperor should get some time to arrange his army, before the attacks can start. When an attacker picks a target, the attacker and defender at that target should be fixed until the game is played. You can't require people to be online always. So there should be some rule that both players at least have to be f.e. 1 hour online per 2 days. And that a game can only be refused a few times. If one of the players doesn't come online, or refuses too much, the game should be against an AI. It would need some server to keep track of all this. So it's not that easy to implement. Maybe it's easier to start with a singleplayer campaign, and then extend the maps to multiplayer.

  16. Paradise of Daphne would be perfect wonder, I think. That temple is a good start I think Paradise of Daphne had a large temple to Apollo, fountains, springs, gardens, etc. Having fountains and pools and gardens around a large Greek temple would be perfect. It could easily have footprint of Hangiing Gardens.

  18. In other words: if you are a translator, make sure the name displayed at Transifex is how you want to be listed in the credits

  19. Translator names are automatically extracted from the transifex interface and are included in the in-game credits.

  20. ah, it lets me use my imagination then, haha I can still use the Pergamon altar as a jumping off point, the flights of stairs would be an example of 'Persian architectural formalities' I really like the idea of a temple with all the high reliefs around the foundation Temple of Apollo it is, then. I'll post sketches when ready.
