    • I'm the maintainer for the slackware build script for 0ad. I've just updated the script for 0.27.0 and there is an extra dependency of rust-opt. It's been a while since the last update, and there was the move to gitea and change of forum logins, so I can't remember how to update https://gitea.wildfiregames.com/0ad/0ad/wiki/BuildInstructions the slackware 14.2 instructions are now obsolete, and the 15.0 instructions need updating for the change. The new build scripts should be available at https://slackbuilds.org/repository/15.0/games/0ad/ and at https://slackbuilds.org/repository/15.0/games/0ad-data/  by 20th april 2025 (the public push is on weekends, so my update missed this one) Any pointers would be helpful. my email address is also on the 0ad.info and 0ad-data.info files.
    • Hello All, I’m conducting a study to explore how developers (at any level) interact with generative AI tools and how they use it for their development process... for my Master thesis and PHD proposal, as it become a base for my PHD proposal that i need to defend soon for my study i need to have interview with volunteer developers to answer my questions and participate in my study  The interview has 3 parts, video call on Meet Initial Interview (30-60 mins): Discuss your coding experience and your perspective on how to use genAI Simulation Test (10-30 mins): work on a hands-on coding task using AI Follow-Up Interview (10-20 mins.): Post-simulation interview , a few questions on your experience during the exercise. if you have free time and available to help me in this research, i really appreciate it Please let me know, and i will send you a link to schedule for this session. Btw , i will share the final result and analysis at the end with all participants

    • Kill counts are stacking up!  1511 kills on Pyrenean Sierra:    
    • In A27, any sane player won't rush you before your cavalry finishes the chickens (2:30), so you can do scouting with your cav afterwards. If  you are up against Romans. Macedon or Han then you need to beware of the starting with 3 melee cavs strat. But the damage of this kind of suicidal attacks is limited and it can be defended quite easily.
    • Two units garrisoned and providing 2.5 time the damage of a single unit would be great, I think. But this is true only if that was used for combat. If chariots were only used for swift transport, we should allow more units (otherwise it'd be rather useless in the game (these are typical sacrifices of historical reality towards better gameplay). Scenario: You brought 10 chariots to the front, each having 5 passengers onboard. Let them disembark and fight while the chariots go back to provide more relief forces. Effective if the chariots were significantly faster than walking troops. Not sure if this is too much micro?
    • The thought occurred to me that after the implementation of Marian Reforms the three Roman heroes are now out of their time frame, so what about replacing them with three new heroes like Julius Caesar and Pompey and one other from that era?  If there is a proper place to put ideas please point the way as I am currently unsure if it should be community mod or some other place
