1. A stitch in time, saves nine.

2. better ten minutes too late in this world than ten minutes too early in the next!

3. He was as black as the ace of spades.

4. Scandal is twice around the world - before truth has got time to put his boots on!

5. If you cannot speak any good of a person don't bother speaking any evil.

6. Pink Sky at night - shepherd's delight!

Pink Sky at morning, shepherd's warning...

7. One bird in the hand is worth two in the bush!

8. Old Indian saying 'never judge a person, till you have a day in his mocassins.

9. he is getting too big for his boots..

10. Pride always comes before a fall.

Last Jack Handy quote (promise):

"Whenever I see an old lady slip and fall on a wet sidewalk, my first instinct is to laugh. But then I think, what is I was an ant, and she fell on me. Then it wouldn't seem quite so funny. "

Unfortunately, there aren't too many sites with lists of all his quotes because of copyright issues :wine:

I have a big list here, I'll just do more than one at a time. ^_^ (BTW, this thread was a good idea Tim :wine:)

"China is a big country, inhabited by many Chinese."

- Charles De Gaulle, former French President

"The doctors X-rayed my head and found nothing."

- Dizzy Dean explaining how he felt after being hit on the head by a ball in the 1934 World Series.

"Traditionally, most of Australia's imports come from overseas."

- Former Australian cabinet minister Keppel Enderbery

Do not forget our lovable, quotable president :wine:

"I hope you leave here and walk out and say, 'What did he say?'" —George W. Bush, Beaverton, Oregon, Aug. 13, 2004
"We stand for things." —George W. Bush, Davenport, Iowa, Aug. 5, 2004
"My job is to, like, think beyond the immediate." —George W. Bush, Washington, D.C., April 21, 2004

I'm suprised that wasn't the theme of the RNC: "We stand for.... THINGS!"

"We stand for.... THINGS!"

How true! Don't we all?!

When I am president that's gonna be my platform :wine:.

EDIT: Actually, do you know the context that was in? Because if it was used in proper context, it may not have been that funny... Like "We stand for things. And these things will not... bla bla bla"
