idanwin
I agree they'll look cool, they already do.Well, I can't wait, so I'm adding them on my computer already xD
LordGood
Ooh, so you'll have them in the game then?Would you mind posting a screencap if that's the case? I'd like to see how they fit in with the GUI
idanwin
For the training buttons they look too pixelised, that should be fixed with anti-aliasing, which we don't have ...The unit portrait buttons look marvelous though!

Ludo38
All the icons in the screencap look good, except this horse head !
Zaggy1024
You should try to make the halos look like the one in the archer's portrait, it looks way better, since it doesn't look like a cartoony outline. The archer looks great in the screenie, btw.
Mythos_Ruler
I love the Italian Allied Swordsman pose. It's very "active." Just needs to get rid of the shield background and do the halo magic.

LordGood
I have two poses for the gallic swordsman. One is, well... betterthe other better fills the composition
Mythos_Ruler
haha, thanksI did a little redraw of the Sacred bandLove the pose and direction. I think the helmet could look a little shinier. Maybe some more highlights and such. The helm looks very "flat."As for the Gallic Swordsman, I like the 2nd pic.
idanwin
As for the Gallic Swordsman, I like the 2nd pic.Agreed, it's clearer
LordGood
I was talking more along the lines of the pose, I can clean up the construction sketch, second one does seem to make more sense though
LordGood
Made his face too dark in that last one
Mythos_Ruler
Looks pretty good. One thing I would suggest to help speed things up for you would be to draw in a smaller resolution. Most of the details you have, like the strands of facial hair, will be completely lost when resized to 128x128. I'd draw in 512x512 or smaller, maybe even 256x256. zaphzaph
I love it lord good what an impressive work you make congratulation !!
LordGood
Thanks The strands of hair are just there for texture, if anything it adds noise that would be more difficult to add in lower resolutions. I'm not sure working smaller will necessarily speed things up either

Mythos_Ruler
You're edging back toward too dark.
LordGood
toned down the value contrast a bit
Shield Bearer
Looking good The cape and the shield lack clarity, those designs on the shield won't be noticed when scaled down EDIT: Look at it scaled down, the shield and the cape are sharp enough The head gets lost though... LordGood
I would figure, the head is where detail needs to be the most compacted. Perhaps I could pull out the value contrast a bit but that could go either way
Yves
The head/face is something that we usually look at first. Maybe you could try to make it stand out a bit. This face is much better than this one IMO. It transfers some emotion and stands out a bit while on the second one you can't see the eyes, the face is in the dark and the color is very similar to the rest of the image (the helmet, the belt, the spear etc.).I can't draw, so that's just my opinion when looking at it. Ludo38
toned down the value contrast a bitI like the face ! But it needs some light! And the lifted arm doesn't work well, feeling dismantled. Take inspiration from Shield Bearer's avatar, just around here.
