Barcodes
I'm unsure whether this is just a glitch or an underdevelopment but in real life you cannot shoot arrows, rocks or javelins through a wall. Those rocks aren't paper thin, they look like they could withstand a shot from a Panzer and stand there unfazed like Donald Trump when some loser tried to assassinate him. Anyway, this would be a great feature for iberians as currently it doesn't make any sense how people can shoot anyone within the iberian walls.
real_tabasco_sauce
I've thought about it before. Its an idea with a lot of grey area. Should they block vision too? How would the implementation work to try to shoot over the walls? I'm sure it could work, but it would take a lot of figuring out, and I'm not sure if it fits with the abstraction level of the game. @Grapjas this could be something interesting to try out with your mod. Stan`
IIRC Silier had a patch that allowed hiding the vision depending on terrain. Not sure it worked with walls though.
wraitii
Making things block vision could be a significant slowdown and would at a minimum require a large rethinking of the LOS algorithm. Walls blocking projectiles is more doable, but hasn't really been a priority or a target.

It does sound hard to programme, it looks like units have a fixed range and can hit units no matter what's in the way and to distinguish that would be a ton of work to do.

Seems like it would be real complicated. You can just put fog of war up around walls because you SHOULD be able to see if you have units on the same side of the wall as the enemy. Also, to @real_tabasco_sauce’s point. The whole game is an abstraction. We don’t provide and take away vision based on what your units actually see. For example, you can see enemy units even if your units have their backs facing the enemy. If you really want to make sense of it, just assume the walls are always manned even if those units don’t do anything more than provide vision. The game has a ton of abstractions. Grautvornix
... but possibly walls could reduce the range of projectiles fired across so that you cannot kill everyone inside?

Dakara
The limits between playability, development and realism. Sometimes too much realism kills the fun. In addition, a catapult or trebuchet should be able to fire even in an area without vision (but you will need to be able to click on an area to fire). And why not have the archers shoot blind? Just to say
