  1. Haha been a while since I've met someone who wants to gain weight.
  2. Yeah, this was really weird. I got up and I thought the same thing, then my mom said, are you taller? Go measure yourself. Kinda cool though- and btw, this new spurt in height puts me in the average range for that BMI calculator.
  3. Well although I should be doing homework, I'm foruming working on writing music (a major hobby of mine... by now though it's probably more than a hobby) Divertimento #1 in C, Mvmt. 2- Adagio and a piece that will be a concept for The Last Alliance.
  4. Well something really REALLY weird happened, and I swear this is true. When I got up today, my mom said I looked taller, and I felt taller too, and if you can feel taller, you know you really got taller. So I go downstairs to measure myself, and know I'm 5' 6.5''! So I apparently grew at least a half an inch last night or something. It's really weird, because, well because I can even feel being taller. It reminds me of the movie "big fish" only I didn't grow quite as quick as that kid did. So anyways, I'm gonna go see what I come out as now.
  5. Nope, it still says I'm overweight, but if I add a year, I'm in the normal range- and my birthday is in a couple months.
  6. Stupid calculator. I'm officially overweight, but I'm one of the most physically fit kids I know. I got top 10 for physical fitness in sophomore class boys for 3 of the 6 times we've taken the tests. I can bench my body weight, and squat well over it. I run 4 to 6 miles everyday! And I'm overweight! Ah well I suppose not all overweight is unhealthy...
  7. Une idee tres bien! That would fit my history textbook well also.
  8. Man you said it. I could live in a library... or a patisserie...
  9. Oh what a great book! I haven't read that in so long
  10. Yeah you can probably find your height in cubits if you look hard for a minute
  11. 6'6 and 6'5! Weve got some beasts on these boards! :0 I stand at the unimpressive (but not a bad height altogether) 5'5. How bout a "how much do you weigh" thread? 140 pounds, too lazy to convert it.
  12. Who was crucified in an X? Was it another of the apostles? Most of them had pretty violent deaths. and what's IIRC?
  13. I think Peter was eventually crucified on an X cross. It's supposed to be even more painful.
  14. Acutally, in my opinion, the amount of blood was not over done. Recall that 40 scourges is enough to kill a man, and if they were all given to his back, he would be destroyed basically. Also, the crown of thorns. As you probably all know, any cut you have on your head bleeds a whole lot more than a cut in most anywhere else on your body. Now imagine you were punctures all around your head... by thorns. I vaguely recall that it was revealed in a vision to some saint just how much blood Jesus lost in his passion. Of course, most people aren't Catholic here, so that's a statistic that is kind of "out there". Most crucifictions were a whole lot less bloody than Jesus's. While he was beaten, scourged, cut all around his body, then carried his cross for who knows how long, tripping a bunch along the way, he was pretty much dead by the time they nailed his hands to the cross and put it up. However, usually you're hands were just tied, and I think just your feet were nailed, and you'd die of asphixiation (sp?) because, well, you cant breath when you're hanging from your arms and to "stand up" you'd have put all the weight on the nails going through your ankles and once you couldn't stand the pain, you'd suffocate. Note that cruified people could be on the cross for days, Jesus died in three hours.
  15. It actually does have many flashbacks to his teachings. But not surprisingly, the movie is not "the life of Jesus", it's the "passion of Jesus" so it deals with the bloody end of his life, not his peaceful teachings throughout. So one can't expect to go to see a movie about the teachings of Jesus when it's called "The Passion" and is about just that . Oh a note on the score, it was not jawdropping, it had some good parts, but it wasn't a movie destined to be remembered by it's score. Oh i heard also that when the composer was writing music for the score, he said that many times everything would freeze and his screen would turn to the clip of Satan. He said he got really mad eventually. Kinda weird... just htought I'd say.
  16. I saw it. It was an excellent movie, and I recommend it to all. Even those who aren't Christian, but you'd have a lot less interest in the subject (well presumably). Yeah all I can say, it was really good. And I didn't think it was anti-semetic at all. When other people see it, you can probably agree that the Jewish mob who is ultimately responsible for his death, but in actuality, that's what happened. Jesus may have been killed by people who were Jews, but he was a Jew too, and so were his best friends. So come on... people are always looking for something to complain about. Well once some guys see it, tell what you think on the matter.
  17. I'm just getting my mail from colleges (only a sophomore, but I'm still thinking ahead). I've gotten stuff (not the bulk, the individually sent out stuff) from U of Chicago and Yale. Boy going to Yale would be great. Oh and Cal Tech. I want to major in chemical engineering, get a masters in business administration. Possibly something with music as a minor, but only time will tell...
  18. Well I think that whole article is written totally intended as a joke. For two reasons: -The parents attended the kids' parties. -"Flash" isn't a hacker program.
  19. make sure you give it the same air the restaurant has... like gothic you said, in this case. So maybe a color scheme that the restaurant interior has, and pics of it. Not like a pics page, but in appropriate locations.
  20. The what tree? http://www.fanta.dk/showmovie.asp?mid=CDB9...4D-B296A62E9BB4
  21. being the coolest person on the face of the earth, obviously. Actually, my creativity, and my uniqueness.
  22. Well my dad/bro don't really care I suppose. My mom's glad I'm doing something (like writing music for TLA). I don't talk about it all that often though.
  23. Yup it's definately written in stone that 0AD is free. IN STONE. as in NO CHANGING IT. as in SET FOR SURE, that is we wont CHANGE OUR MINDS. It's absolutely POSITIVE that 0AD WILL BE COMPLETELY FREE and there is NO DOUBT about it. (Sry bout the caps, just wanted to make it pretty clear )
