Isn't it exciting to write an encyclopedia?
Many people will learn about the ancient world and the universe of 0 A.D by reading these articles.
Indeed!!!

Anything I type here will be my own words and you can use them.
In this instance, I just reworded the original passage .
Ah I got you. We'll use your version I probably have been guilty of some more lame writing in the past. I'm planning on going through and editing some of the past articles while @Vantha finishes the new UI. I'll be sure to check for that.

The Greco-Macedonian pharaohs of the Ptolemaic dynasty granted plots of land to all veteran Greek soldiers who would settle within the borders of the empire. These veterans and their decendants would then be called upon by the pharaoh to serve in the imperial army during times of war or rebellion. The pockets of Greek culture created by these settlements would influence and give shape to the traditional native Egyptian culture, creating a unique syncretism we today call the Hellenistic culture.
That is much better than what I wrote. Did you write it yourself? If so, I'd gladly use it instead of what I wrote.

A PR for the Ptolmic military colony.

The Greek name used in-game is (again) a bit misleading and inaccurate. Seleucid military colonies were actually called “Katoikiai” and the settlers “Katoikoi”.
Here are two good articles I found on the matter:
http://www.ime.gr/CHRONOS/06/en/society/index104.html
https://www.academia.edu/13665364/katoikoi - requires registering an account I think. So here is the pdf:
Thanks, I'll check them out.

Pr for the colony and the wonder: https://github.com/TheShadowOfHassen/0-ad-history-encyclopedia-mod/pull/140
I'm not happy with the wonder article, I could find almost no information on it. However, that current article will work until I have the means of doing more research. (As in resources not time I need more history books.)

Similar to what the Ptolemies tried to do, the Selecids also invited Greek colonists to settle in their lands in the East. The colonists would then be beholden to the Seleucid for military service in exchange for gifts of land.
I might rip off most of that paragraph for the article, because that seems like an excellent thing to write about.

Regarding the military colony I believe it's analoguous to the ptol civ but I don't remember.
The military colony is a seleuclid building. I’d be interested to know the historical background/ what it’s meant to represent.

I have two more questions concerning Seleucid structures: First, what exactly is the wonder? I can't find it with a web search, and second what's the idea behind the military colony? I can't find anything about either of them.

Maybe we should just lock the thread? I mean, no one is using it for what it's supposed to be for.

Wow, you've been busy. You went from not knowing where to start on GUI development in January to an integrated GUI in April. I'm guessing that you got some help along the way.
It's great to see an encyclopedia being implemented in 0ad. It helps make the game educational instead of merely for entertainment.
Yeah, @Vanthais pretty amazing. Even with the ui work he’s still writing articles.
For me though the articles are not just educational but also entertainment . Learning is fun.

On the battlefield, the Seleucid cavalry arm was often the most successful in the army, often driving off the enemy cavalry in order to turn and make devastating flanking and rear charges into the enemy center.

PR for the general corral and field. These articles can be used for civilizations that we can't find something intresting to say about their agriculture.

What is the Ptolmic wonder exactly? When I look it up, I get an alter in Sicily.

I think the idea could be expanded to a good round of post game statistics, like in Age of Empires III

Converting to Markdown is a must, but it would indeed be great to deduplicate things that go to the wiki. Instead it would be awesome to have a readme.md which is actually appealing, with screenshots and a user-orientated presentation of the project. I have not worked in that direction but I'd love to see it done.
Ooh that would be nice.

Oh that's easy to do, and I did it almost daily when testing my migration scripts I deleted your top-secret account. Also I unrestricted you, but I also have the option to prevent you from logging in, so I'm testing that. Can you confirm you can't login at all?
I can't login at all. I get a "sign in prohibited" message.

I just restricted PoppaSmurf, I don't know how it appears to you. I can't contact users but I do have access to their email addresses (pretty much like in Trac).
It is actually a good thing in my opinion that Gitea doesn't have a PM system. I would be unhappy so see communication even more split between platforms.
I think an email is good enough to contact someone. We just need to be certain that mods email offending people using a wildfire game account.
The ban makes me un able to see any repository that I hadn't' created, so that's something. See if you can un restrict Poppa Smurf, and then I'd suggest attempting to remove repositories and/or users.

As an admin, I see all repos including private ones.
Just to confirm that, can you see Poppa Smurf's secret repo?
Another question I have is moderation. Can you put restrictions on a user, or somehow contact them to say they are breaking guidelines?

2 factor authentication (github)
It is somewhat of a pain, but I can also see why they did it. I use the GitHub mobile app for 2FA it works pretty well.
I take it that because you’re trying to get into GitHub you have something to contribute to the encyclopedia?

So, anything else I need to be testing? I think I've exhausted most of the random things I can think of.

While Vantha finishes up the new encyclopedia UI, I decided to go over some of our older articles again and do some edits. Its been almost a year and I've "leveled up" several times with my writing/ editing skills.
Here's the first PR: https://github.com/TheShadowOfHassen/0-ad-history-encyclopedia-mod/pull/143 in case anyone else wants to look them over
The Pr's will probably be shorter, but I might do more than one a week. Also, I'm going to merge these sooner because they aren't new articles.
