With the Germans added to the game, how about giving them Tavern in the Mist now?
Wait, Germans are added? Sorry, I'm out of the loop. It would say that's a good idea.

I suggest to use 0ad using the PureOS package rather than flatpack. Maybe it's not the latest version (here there is 0.27.0: https://repo.pureos.net/pureos/pool/main/0/0ad/), but flatpack is known to have such issues.
I'm sorry, but known by whom? It's the first time I've heard of it. (Other than the problem with VMs)

Yeah, it’s an AMD.
What's your flatpak version?

I am running PureOS, with a Mesa graphics card and drivers.
So I take it's an intel or AMD?

I am on Linux Mint XFCE, and I have installed the flatpack version from the software manager but cannot use latest alpha. Although update manager is noticing me the game has a new update, it seems there is something wrong as it does not update the game when download finishes. Also I am a new Linux user, just installed the OS some days ago, so I might be missing something. Anyway I am going to use 27.0 until a find the way to build the 27.1 as @ffm2 suggested to me.
The flatpak should have had the update for a while. Maybe try flatpak update in your terminal if the software center is acting strange.

This is actually not a problem. Both galaxies are empty enough so that an actual collision between stars or planets is extremely unlikely. The most plausible case is erratic trajectories of bodies and formation of some new constellations.
More immediate threats:
1. Aggressive military actions destroying internet cables or causing electricity cuts or killing the players in real life
2. Wxwidget failure or bugs (already totally borked on Wayland). We should have switched to QT
3. Microsoft windows doing something funny and all windows players can't run game anymore
Those are not really, the biggest problem, you've all have seen the news about of the code eating Cthulhu monster right?

Unless @Vanthamade more changes to the GUI in his PR...

If there's no clear tendency then I suggest to provide both options and leave it too up to campaign makers how and when to use them.
Offhand, do both.

I think the concepts are pretty cool.
My only suggestion is don't lock down how the campaign's narration works, it would be kind of cool to have room to have the campaign designers to have some artistic difference.

This is really cool-- I wonder if we could get it as a setting in the game proper though.

Yeah usually it takes a few tries :/

For a few tries, it's been a lot. It has pretty consistently refused to fork for me.

Honestly, if we can just require the first forum post to have to be approved by a moderator, that would work.
Another idea is to get proper privileges on the Ubuntu discourse forum I had to click through a MASSIVE tutorial-- something like that might help too.

Sounds like your gripe isn’t with the game pacing but with difficulty.
Well I don't play multiplayer so they're kind of the same thing...

One possible way out is to reduce the game speed to 0.75 or lower - this leaves more time to organise your own strategy.
I think I played that once, and it did get pretty slow. So slow, I got bored and sped it back up. I will give it another try though and let you know.

Great. I always find these stats interesting.
It would be amazing if we can consistently retain these users.
If you like stats we also have the flatpak ones
https://flathub.org/apps/com.play0ad.zeroad
(Scroll down they're there. The graph is too big to screenshot on this system.)
Also in regard to the pacing thing-- I always do end up dying pretty fast in 0 A.D medium. because I can't move fast enough, and easy and very easy are too easy. I would appreciate it if the game could be tweaked have a little slower of an entry curve for newer players.

random maps are also handcrafted. Just programmatically.
I didn't know that. I'll have to try those out!

Skirmish maps?
Do you mean the random maps? I don't play those -- I guess I should, though. I like the handcrafted maps.

One request I have is could we have some more naval maps or maybe some AI changes? The only kind of sea map is Barciana and still the AI just decades to hoof it over land to attack me. i'd love to play Athenian navy and go sink Persian ships but I can't find a map to do it.
-
I like Athens, Sparta, and Britons though I haven't played the latest update other testing
-
Hopefully in the next few alphas we can get some of that historical stuff into the game so you all can learn more.

Edited!

The flatpak is in its very last steps of being good. I don't have edit control to the wiki so could someone real quick edit the wiki so the flatpak doesn't things like "Unsupported" or community maintained, because it isn't now.

Ok, that is pretty cool, maybe we'll get another release soon so everyone can play with it easily?
