  1. I have tried it out. On very hard settings, it seemed to post more of a threat than PetraBot as it had quite a decent army composition and uses some cavalry appropriately. However, it was not much harder than Petra Bot; I managed to push and smash its base at the loss of only 2 units. The early raids were pretty deadly though; they slaughtered all of my miners eve though they were standing under my temple. I will check the replays to see if their boom speed was OK. Please excuse my nubbing as I was trying to test how the AI would respond in late phases but it never had time to make siege...

  4. Would be great if the AI knows some surprising strategies such as continuous champion cavalry raid, sneaky clubmen and mass archer cav. Having some champions really increases your kd ratio... Just don't mine with women and you will be able to afford them...
  5. When I run the bot with the changed .js files a yellow warning came up and said bad values for priorities. The bot still run smoothly and used my strategies, but clearly whoever created petra bot doesn't like my strategy. I feel like Petra Bot is quite aggressive and whoever designed it definitely liked rushes more than boom + push. The Ai also seems to hate heroes, champions and siege. Another issue I spotted recently is idle siege units: the AI does not push with siege until it has got 8 or more rams... typically players can deal some decent damage with a swarm of infantry and 3-4 rams.

  7. I have encountered this dude Melusines before. His skills is around 1500. Very aggressive player. I suggest we backtrack his IP address and ban everything from that IP. Hopefully this method will teach him a lesson, until he finds out how to change IP. /ban Melusines
  8. How smart are Qbot, JuBot, Aegis compared to Petra?
  9. I made a mod (my first attempt to mod) that gives some civs additional cataphract types, in the hope of increasing the types of strategies available. Maceman cataphracts offer high crush damage and extreme anti-cavalry abilities, but at the cost of dealing almost no damage to infantry and relatively weak armour. This is to reflect the anti-cataphract tactic of using a club to bash enemy cataphracts' helmets used by the Parthians and Sassanids. Their crush damage means they can also be used as a siege weapon. Due to the short length of clubs and agility of infantry units, they do very little damage; 1 maceman champion cannot take out 1 spearman. Persians and Seleucids can train these champion units from their stables after researching unlock champion tech. Having access to this unit helps them to assert dominance in the cavalry department and effective ban cavalry from other civs. However, their exact stats are yet to be determined; by default I gave them some pretty extreme values to emphasise my point. Therefore I would like to request the balancing advisors @Lion.Kanzen @Player of 0AD @maroder etc to help me determine their stats. Meanwhile, to strengthen Rome, I gave them an archer cataphract. These units are extremely agile, well-armoured and have a long range, but do little damage (9.5 pierce per second) and are quite inaccurate. Rome learnt this technique from the Parthians after the defeat at Carrhae. They have very short loading time, so they can fire as soon as you order, unlike normal archers who take 700ms to prepare. This unit is designed to be a skirmish force + anti-elephant unit instead of meatshield, although they can survive for quite long under fire. You can troll enemy infantry by drawing circles around them with these and sniping any weak targets. They take quite long to kill an unit but I managed to take out 30 Roman sword champs with 10 of these without any loss. Here is the mod: cataphract mod.zip

  12. I will call it KateBot I don't have the skills to write a whole new AI... I edited the javascript files and now the AI reaches 197 pop by minute 16 and goes in for a huge push. The catch is it forgot to phase up (so still village phase by minute 18) and no siege. The huge push part is more similar to players in TG but the lack of siege and no formations are problems to be solved.
  13. I am now working on a mod that improves the strategy used by the AI. I copied the .js files controlling the petra bot into my mod folder, but I am not sure where I can change the eco bonus of the AI. Can someone give me a hint please? I have already adjusted their strategy slightly by increasing the number of units trained before phasing up. Here are the 3 easy points I will tackle first: 1. Using enough women for eco (I see some improvement) 2. Not phasing up too early (they phase up at around 60 pop now compared to the previous 40 pop, could do better) 3. No suicide push. (haven't started editing this yet)

If they bypass my filter technique by replacing certain letters with symbols then no problem: they shame themselves by trying so hard to associate their identity with something vulgar under everyone's watch. If people want to name themselves nazi or Soviet then let them be; we just ban them from our TGs when we host. I am pretty sure someone can mute people in the lobby. I see Hamdich has been muted (although I am not sure what he has done to deserve that).

  17. @Stan` @wowgetoffyourcellphone can you summon the balancing advisors please? I think the stats I gave them are too OP but I am not sure which exact value should be used.
  18. I got the mod ready! Just install it like any normal mod. I gave Persians and Seleucids the champion maceman cavalry; they can be trained from their stables in Phase 3, after you unlock the techs. You can also see them in the structure tree. I gave these two civs maceman cavalry because they did use these to counter enemy cataphracts, and having access to this unit allows them to assert their dominance in the cavalry department. Currently they are pretty good against buildings and have a 25x bonus against other cavalry (because 1 hit by a hammer on the head could give brain damage to any opponent). The exact stats need balancing advisors. Problem: Only the rider is shown, horse is invisible. maceman cataphract.zip
  19. Thank you! It is working now. The only problem is the horse seems to be missing, but the rider is there, floating. Now we need a portrait and some better animations/props to distinguish them from regular cavalry swordsman. Also might need to ask balancing advisors for stats. They are pretty OP right now.

  22. nazi is a Taiwanese player. He has a zh-tw mod and he often plays with another Taiwanese dude called soviet. They like unlimited population and when I spec one of their games I saw one of them making 300 Agema Basileos (Ptol Cav champ) and the other making 200 champion pikemen...

  24. @wowgetoffyourcellphone My files are not but they say failed to validate content. What could be wrong?
  25. Perhaps we can create a filter for new usernames and game names: Compare the name to a blacklist of offensive vocabulary If blacklisted vocabulary is in the name then ban. This way direct profanity as shown above will be eliminated.
