  1. So many scientists and engineers player this game! I would expect the players to be historians but the reality defies my expectations. Good to see so many role models for me learn from Don't approximate pi = e =3 pls
  2. Mace cataphract OP I have them 25x hard counter against other cav But 0.1x against infantry
  3. Another thing I noticed is A24 is more nub friendly and A23 is loved by pros. In A24 there is always a good fight, but in A23 sometimes you get wiped out by a pro rush before you do anything at all. The speed of game feels slower. I am so used to A24 now that I would instantly become a 1100 player if we go back to A23
  4. I love most part of A24, especially these: 1. Siege workshop for every civ. 2. Champions from barracks 3. Separate stable and barracks 4. Cheap and useless forts. 5. Nerfed slingers 6. More techs available 7. Macedon gets black cloak But I don't like these: 1. Rams for Maurya and Kush 2. Elephant discrimination 3. Archer changes 4. Athens and Sparta have no stoa 5. Useless and expensive mercenary 6. Rubbish catapult and oxybeles
  5. @Lion.Kanzen I am already solid at physics and maths so I can squeeze enough time for your request. Balancing advisors please tell me what change you want and I will make the in the form of mods, then you experiment with your ideas
  6. @Lion.Kanzen I can make mods then let balance advisors decide whether the changes are good.
  7. I am very willing to help, the only constraint is I have exams for the next 2 weeks. If you can tell me exactly what I should do then I will get it done asap
  8. @Lion.Kanzen @maroder @LetswaveaBook @Player of 0AD @Feldfeld etc
  9. Updates: 1. Added champion slingers + heavy skirmisher to Athens, both trainable from the gym. 2. Spartan women can throw javelins to defend themselves. (although no animations yet) 3. Added slave archer to Spartans Maybe some of these ideas will improve these civs a bit? Balancing advisors, do you think these are appropriate for improving the weak civs? championSlingers2.zip
  10. In this mod I added a slinger champion unit to the Celtic factions. This should be able to improve the Celtic factions in terms of unit diversity. This unit is trained with other champions in the barracks. I also gave Celts and Ptolemies a chariot unit which can be garrisoned to increase its firepower. By default it shoots 1 arrow per 800ms which does little damage. But, you can put infantry into it just like garrisonin g a siege tower, and its arrow number will increase slightly; you can put up to 3 infantry units into it. Before the chariot is destroyed, the infantry will be ejected and you can fix the chariot using its passengers. This unit is trained from siege workshops. Please test it out and tell me what you think. championSlingers.zip
  11. I probably see what you mean but could you give a bit complex example? See Valihrant 1vs4 AI. He caused huge havoc with just a few cav passing by. If 1 of my scout cavalry goes near their territory, immediately a few AI units drop their work and start chasing after me. If we can add a feature which says to the AI: If enemy Units Spotted<=2 then don't respond If enemy Units Spotted >= 10 then emergency defence
  12. Thank you for your feedback, @maroder. I will decrease their walk speed to 1.4, the average value for calvary. For attack speed, I lowered the damage per strike, so that rate of damage is constant. But yes, I will give it a more reasonable value as now they look as if they have mental health issues. No more 25x counter. Maybe 5x. But cavs are resistant to crush, so that might be too much nerf.
  13. hmm I played on linux and I sticked these files into windows. Maybe I messed them up. Well Well Well my Windows OS has broken down yet again... need to reinstall. But good job though, I see it is better than Petra
  14. @wowgetoffyourcellphone Use thinner wall of trees but put them on top of each other, as shown here:
  15. metadata.jsoncommands.txt Here are the replay files. I hope they can play.
  16. I have tried it out. On very hard settings, it seemed to post more of a threat than PetraBot as it had quite a decent army composition and uses some cavalry appropriately. However, it was not much harder than Petra Bot; I managed to push and smash its base at the loss of only 2 units. The early raids were pretty deadly though; they slaughtered all of my miners eve though they were standing under my temple. I will check the replays to see if their boom speed was OK. Please excuse my nubbing as I was trying to test how the AI would respond in late phases but it never had time to make siege...
  17. I am in. But only if we could improve them a bit. Right now I can take on two very hard AIs without problem
  18. New update: fixed models Please test this out cataphract mod2.zip
  19. Would be great if the AI knows some surprising strategies such as continuous champion cavalry raid, sneaky clubmen and mass archer cav. Having some champions really increases your kd ratio... Just don't mine with women and you will be able to afford them...
  20. When I run the bot with the changed .js files a yellow warning came up and said bad values for priorities. The bot still run smoothly and used my strategies, but clearly whoever created petra bot doesn't like my strategy. I feel like Petra Bot is quite aggressive and whoever designed it definitely liked rushes more than boom + push. The Ai also seems to hate heroes, champions and siege. Another issue I spotted recently is idle siege units: the AI does not push with siege until it has got 8 or more rams... typically players can deal some decent damage with a swarm of infantry and 3-4 rams.
  21. Seeh maybe use pager and get multiple desktop activities going? Perhaps you can switch to xfce desktop, which offers the option to quickly switch between desktops. Xfce will also reduce the load on your pc.
  22. The dude has a forum account... ban that as well pls
  23. I have encountered this dude Melusines before. His skills is around 1500. Very aggressive player. I suggest we backtrack his IP address and ban everything from that IP. Hopefully this method will teach him a lesson, until he finds out how to change IP. /ban Melusines
  24. Perhaps we can use Mainland, but completely flat without any change in terrain. Also we can use one brown cylinder to represent trees/wood, grey and gold blocks to represent stone, alongside an option to disable ambient animations and animal animations. Maybe such a simple model would reduce the processing necessary? We can even implement Minecraft-like graphics option, perhaps cubes take less processing than rounded shapes. I am not joking, this could seriously be an option for big team games.
  25. How smart are Qbot, JuBot, Aegis compared to Petra?
