  1. Hi @Autisticus Nice ideas! I really like your blood bowl map, sadly I've run into these errors: The trees failed to generate. Perhaps these errors are related to the trees? Also the Iberian wall placements are slightly awkward. If the walls were more circular, there would be more area to farm in. Currently the walls have little effect because there are two big breaches where enemy units can enter.
  2. Today, HerkEule is on the list. However, the situation was quite strange: initially I joined him successfully and instantly without lag, but after one minute, I began to lose connection. After I tried to rejoin, the loading map page appeared. Presumably, HerkEule didn't change his network settings so the MTU value wouldn't have changed, or at least neither I nor him were aware of a change in MTU. In addition, all problematic hosts except Norse Harold are German. In fact, MarcAurel is the only German host who doesn't throw errors, although he does have stability issues. Furthermore, I was able to join all of these hosts using my father's computer on a home network. When I use the school network, all sorts of problems occur. I hope these new observations can provide some clues. Do you think the MTU patch can be implemented into the default game in the next update? @Norse_Harold
  3. It's hard to make cheat mods, because even though editing the program is trivial, any difference in stats will result in OOS errors. This includes revealing information about the enemy, editing seemingly irrelevant stats like vision range. It's also not quite possible to see enemy chats because they are peer to peer and the message was never passed to you. If you can tell me any cheating idea, I can show you why it's not feasible.
  4. Sounds a bit like Persian, the modern Persian word "shomā" was something like "Shumo" in 0AD Persian. Women say this when they build a house. Something like "Sarvaze Shumo" Maybe @king reza the great can offer some help
  5. I also wanted a hotkey for this. Right now the solution is probably press alt+s to select all soldier units, the pick out the champions.
  6. I don't think you are worthless; in my last few confrontations against you, I took heavy casualties even as Macedonians, so that means you were strong. Regarding Atrik's proGUI mod, I've tried it but I don't think it is on the level of cheating. In fact, the huge stats bar and the no-longer-mini map covered too much of my view area, giving me a disadvantage.
  7. First you can automate my boom build order. For simplicity you may use autotrain. But how do you fight? Automatic Dancing!!!!
  8. This is exactly what I do. As long as the ally doesn't resign, they are useful. In a TG yesterday, Acanthis was the border and I was his pocket. DrOrgans and Juarca continuously double raided him and Acanthis' population was maintained at ~40 for the first 12 minutes. I sent him very little resources so that I could max out myself. By 13:00, I was floating much and I sent Acanthis 1000 wood 1000 food and hoped for the best. At ~14:00 I went for a push against DrOrgans; both he and Juarca commited everything to fight me but I still won 1v2 against them because of superior number, more military techs and numerous barracks spamming units. These wouldn't have been possible if I sent my resources away too early. Eventually, I was able to capture DrOrgans' CC in one push, with some help from Acanthis' skirmishers. If Juarca and DrOrgans had been more conservative with their attacks, they would have been able to resist me, at least in a 2v1 situation. The moral of the story is, a seemingly dead ally (especially border) is a good meatshield that wastes the enemies' time. At this point the pocket player should just focus on maxing themselves out and win a 1v2 push at 14:00 instead of sending too much resources to the hopeless border and delaying themselves. It is more important to reach phase 3 and research all techs, so that you can gather extremely quickly and feed all of your allies. 1000 food at 6:00 costs you much more than 1000 food at 13:00. In my case, Acanthis couldn't boom no matter how much resources I send him, because Juarca and DrOrgans just had too many cavalry roaming in his base. @leopard you and NoobDude also did a commentary on a game with me in a similar situation: it was Mr.Dat distracting Vegeta777 and PolarBear meanwhile I boom. Even though the first fight was not successful, being maxed out in techs means I can quickly gather thousands of resources and send them to allies, at the same time regenerating myself quickly. On the other hand, sfxsfx sent his allies resources instead of booming himself, which resulted in him being behind on techs and was destroyed. So chrstgtr has a point, although if the ally just situationally needed some resources to make a few supplementary units or kick start another production centre, he ought to share his floating resources for that.

  10. Can you give an example of this? I am not sure having better quality hardware can count as cheating. Some people need to use mechanical keyboard for their work and they just use the same keyboard to play games. In addition, it's not expensive and everyone can buy these. However, using Linux to play the game does give you an immense advantage over Windows players. I've heard about them being used in shooter games, but I'm not sure how they would become useful in 0AD

  12. I saw ValihrAnt being able to hear lobby pings in one of his older videos. Since the code is available for download, perhaps one of you programming experts can salvage that piece of code and implement it?
  13. Actually all voice chats that I've been to are surprisingly civilised. The reason is, many player's first language isn't English so they feel no shame when they type vulgar stuff. But when it comes to speaking, the experience is more involved and they would think about social interactions. Hence they are more well behaved in voice chats. You have a choice to leave the voice chat if you want.
  14. Dear developers: It would be great if we can talk to in-game players through the lobby. Often, we would like spectators in another game to join a host that is waiting for players, but that running game host may not allow late specs, so we cannot reach them. Hence, if there can be a feature which notifies playing or spectating players of any lobby messages, it would be great. Heli
  15. Just make your own GUI mod that adds mushrooms and removes autumn foliage. It's do-able. I made my own GUI mod where I shaved the trees and coloured them purple,, and turned all grass to black colour. You can do the same to adjust the biomes to your liking. Are you mocking me?!
  16. By the looks this is probably Sahara desert biome on Mainland. I was able to re-produce what he described: But I think the round leaves here doesn't affect the gameplay at all. If you are very serious then turn on my abstractGUI mod and that will remove all these fancy stuff. Also the leaves' edges decay first and after some time of rotting, they become round-shaped blobs like this. Notice that there are larger leaves trees around as well. Overall I think it's not important, not even a bug.
  17. Why do bots have such delays? Many bugs seemed to be related to the bots not being able to respond quickly enough - surprising as human reaction time is about 200ms and computers can process much in that time interval.

  19. Now weirdJokes is on this list of hosts. I am now using my own laptop in school WiFi environment, I think the school's network settings could be causing issues, as I have never had these problems when using home network on my father's computer.
  20. Everyone had genuine rating numbers. No whacky values. It happens to me even when I don't use customrating.
  21. It would be favourable for towers to focus fire on 1 unit and killing it before moving on to the next unit, as this would weaken the enemy units quicker. In addition, I think sentry towers need some hard 3x counter against archer cavalry, as these archer cavalry units are currently impossible to counter in phase 2 for non-archer civilizations.
