You never need to take everything seriously, online or not. I honestly don't have an issue with swear words that much.... it's more when use words like moron... do you know any of our IQs? Maybe we too are just being silly and trolling online. And what about people who actually have low IQs, or learning impairments, how do you think they feel when a supposedly intelligent person makes fun of people based on their intelligence. Same goes for ethnicity, sexual orientation, religion, physical differences, etc.

I actually like hte idea of helping an ally out. Although not quite sure how this can be incorporated. i guess you could destroy some of ur buildings in ur teritory so that one of your outlying buildings goes to gaia and then allow ur ally to capture. But if they only have 5 women..... you can send resources and help them build the buildings... but if their is no free room on the map. @Barcodesthis might be one of your best ideas Although building capture isnt broken in Historical.

Thats what historical is all about Persian we didnt add any more horses, they already have a lot, but we did add a camel they used camel cavalry and supposedly they scared enemy horses. Romans get a small sword bonus (but so do iber, spanish steal was quite sought after) Sparta's shamps are stronger... i was thinking of adding their heroes p2, but at reduced health and dmg, but same bonus. Maybe Ill work on that today. Gauls themselves didnt exactly have a lot of other units per say, but other celtic tribes did. We have the Rutheni archer, Rhaetian Axeman and Treveri Spear/Jav cav that you can get through the Celtic Coalition.

I thought Dunedan doesnt use "mods/patches" Does this just overwrite files in main game? or is it a mod that needs to be enabled? -
prettty ez to add, they already have a template for "infantry_swordsman_special" adding to historical now. The current version of game doesnt exactly stick to accurately depicting the time period. A lot more civs would have a variety of units.

Ive created a p4 for Rome (want to do the same for Han, and possibly a few other civs.) It is able to be researched, but I set some champs to unlock in p4. Anyone think they can help me figure it out!?

ISO OF: Game testers and artists! We have made a lot of changes/tweaks and have added new units. We need people to help test out; A for any errors that may still exists (I make a lot of mistakes) and B for balance! Also since we have added a lot of new units, we need someone to help create Icons/Portriats. I have mostly figured out actors, but its still confusing because you may have two units that look the same in your barracks, or stable, but they are actually different units. I just reused an icon for now. Thanks @TheCJ for all your help. @Atrik for the earlier icons, any interest in making more? @Genava55 and @Thorfinn the Shallow Minded for the historical input. Also thanks to @borg-@SaidRdz@Meister@friedrich@Seleucids@leopard@Tania and probably others I am forgetting for playing a few games or offering a few ideas.

Can i just warn people that nussantara just quit a rated game... I dont really feel like going through the whole ordeal. He has finished a bunch and he does resign too.... but sometimes when he is loseing badly he just says I wanna go, thanks, quits and logs out. So just be warned of that fellow 0ad players EDIT. I caught up with him this evening and explained the situation, he did the right thing. So maybe if you just talk to him about it, its not a big deal.

So we actually upped infantry to 3, lowered cav to 3, women at 2. Since as @TheCJ points out after eating berries he's still hungry, but after a steak.... I almost feel like cav should be slower than other men, due to mount and dismount. Their advantage is in the speed and how much they can carry!

My understanding is formations currently dont work, unless that was fixxed in a27? They dont add any bonuses, nor can you attack from formation. They just help you "run" faster into postion you want to be in when you fight. Please let me know if I am wrong here! Cause for now what we have done in historical is added "auras" to different units that have formations to kind of mimic those formations when they are in close enough proximity.

main reason for adding to sparta and athens is becasue early on they were really known for using a lot of horses. You can scout pretty well with cav in 0ad

yes indeed. Pretty sure they were called hemerodromos. And very specialized "units"

the brits in particular were know for this. We ahve played around wiht the idea in Historical. The "transport" chariot does less dmg, (the driver can defend himself a little) but has more armor. It can garrison 1 unit pick them up drop them off in battle at a time. Kinda cool. But maybe even transport 2 units?
