I think you have to decide whether you want a game that is as authentic as possible or a game balance that ignores this. In the time in which 0AD is set, the navy was not as usable as it is today. After the Romans had practically the entire Mediterranean under control, ship development stagnated. Arrow ships did not exist in the traditional sense, at least you couldn't sink ships with them, at most you could set them on fire. In principle, all war galleys were designed for ramming or you tried to capture the enemy. Special weapons like the Corvus or Harpax could be added to the Roman navy. For example, I think it would be fun if you could add pirates to sea maps as an option, like treasures, which can get on your nerves during setup. And also, as with delenda est, I think a naval shipyard is better than just one harbor for all units. But that's just my opinion...

Ah.... don't excuse, it's no problem ... just tell me, when I'm able to download ... thank you for support

Please give a sign in this thread when I can download it with Windows 7 . Until now I was not able by torrent or instead. And you would have to change that, one way or another.

I'm an old guy and not really flexible. I find it difficult to deal with changes. I'm too lazy to change an operating system now, to be honest. I'm more likely to get a new laptop before Alpha 28 comes out. It would still be nice if Alpha 27 could run with my old Windows 7...

That's very kind, you are a good team ... thank you for support

I think so, but I wonder why Alpha 26 works perfect and 27 don't.

Should I release DELENDA EST ALPHA 25 incomplete?
Oxenstierna replied to wowgetoffyourcellphone's topic in Delenda Est
It's a smart and well-designed mod. The variety is great and I'm looking forward to it, because one day doesn't matter. After the main program appeared, you were very quick. Good work. Keep it up. -
You have to be careful with this topic because it quickly overloads micromanagement. However, a slave market was important in ancient times.

seleucid and ptolemy heavy warship wrong model and unit icon

The largest ship ever built is a 40 built by Ptolemy IV. It was about 128 m long, a good 17 m wide and had a height from the waterline to the tip of the stern of a good 24 m.The crew consisted of 4,000 rowers, 400 seafarers and 2,850 marines. The traditional description of this ship suggests that it was a catamaran ship. However, the distribution of the rowers over the assumed three rows of oars is unclear. The known length of the ship allows for 50 oars per row. It is therefore likely that the rowers will be distributed on both sides of the double-hulled catamaran. This would mean 1,000 rowers per hull side, i.e. 4,000 rowers in total. The 50 oars on one side could then have been manned with 20 oars in a Thranite-Cyclite-Thalamite cycle. This is the most believable solution today. The upper deck spanned both hulls and thus had a correspondingly large area to accommodate the combat crew. However, these large galleys had no tactical value and were militarily and economically unjustifiable. -
My opinion: Few nations, few differences between the units, too bright colors in the Middle Ages ... that's not for me ... beautiful landscapes and some good, new ideas ... who knows how the ensemble studios would have done it? But nice that it happens......

New Unit: African Veteran
Oxenstierna replied to wackyserious's topic in Game Development & Technical Discussion
I read that the Libyans are said to have fought similarly to the Macedonian phalanx. The veterans fought with the armor of the Romans, which was very expensive for that time and which was taken from the vanquished after the battles of Cannae, on the Trebia and Trasimeno Sea. I doubt that they used Roman tactics for this reason. -
Alpha 24 is about to be released. A decision has been made for the name ?

Hi Justus... at first...I love this mod. You asked in the beginning of this thread for some ideas. I don't know if you noted the german side http://www.kriegsreisende.de/antike/leibgarde.htm there you can find innovations for lifeguards and the thinking about in that time. I didn't know, that Cleopatra has had a lifeguard of gallic and the roman imperors prefer germanic (mostly batavians) soldiers. Maybe it's nothing new for you... however, do it your way, I will play the game... best regards...
