  1. ( Evelyn can be a man's name ... As for me, I like Priscilla, Philippa, ...
  2. ( not much ... nearly none .. even I can do it ... and I don't know much
  3. ( making Firefox themes is pretty easy ... it is just about replacing .png images with other .pngs ... and most of the designs are here ... IF WFG and 0AD allow the person who may do it.
  4. ( When I saw this thread, I have to admit that I thought of something else ... I was wrong I like lying down on the sofa and watching a DVD
  5. ( well, planes are rarely impressive from the inside ... it is just when you are outside, on the side of the runway and you can see several thousand tons taking off the ground ...
  6. ( well, everyday, from school/work I can seen A340-500 and A340-600 (the longest commercial plane in the world ... even longer than the A380) and it si quite impressive ... the impressive one is the A300-600ST also known as "Beluga". It is the plane that carries parts of the A340 from all over Europe to Toulouse. I saw the first flight of the A340-600 ... it needed the whole runway to take off ... so I can imagine how long the runway has to be for an A380
  7. ( absolutely ... and the ESA scientists said that it had enough batteries for two hours after landing, but they didn't know where Huygens would land. Fortunately enough, it landed on a solid place. Hence the pictures. Had it landed in a methane ocean, I am afraid we would not have had any pictures of the Surface ...
  8. ( Well, I doubt many airline companies will have jacuzzi and beds on board. They'd rather have extra space for cargo and more seats in economy ... but Virgin Atlantic said they would have casinos and duty free stores on board during the flight.
  9. ( well, the modifying is a detail really ... San Francisco or LA announced a $400 million bill for midifications, but an independent agency said that it would not be more than $120 million (a lot for us, but not that much for huge airports ) Singapore for instance is only going to spend $20 million because the facilities are new enough, whereas in older airports like London or NY, the bill will be higher because the runways are older too ...
  10. ( Good Year made the gears ... but in the near future, Bridgestone may do some as well ... As for the Millau Bridge, I am going to Marseille to visit some friends in March, and I will surely take the bridge. I will take some pics when I am there. In the winter, when it is foggy, the bridge looks like floating in the air, above the clouds ... really impressive.
  11. ( well, the French are proud enough ... do not tempt me in being more arrogant than an American person (JUST KIDDING !!!! NO NEED TO REPLY !!!!! ) Nah, to be honest, the Viaduc of Millau (70 miles from my hometown) is nto only a French project ... it is in France, true, but the architect is English ... and as for Airbus (40 miles from my hometown), it is even worse .. the project is French, German, English and Spanish, but many American companies provide Airbus with things ... Actually, the French are just lucky that these two projects are made in France. It gives a good image of engineering France all over the world
  12. ( the A380 is a relatively economic aircraft, using as little as 3 liters of fuel per passenger per 100km ... that is a lot less than the 747 for instance ... I have been just at the foot of that aircraft this afternoon, after work ... I could not resist. They opened the site to the public after it was unveiled for the officials ... it was really massive ... but of course, photography prohibited. I had taken my camera in my jacket in case, but they clearly said it was FORBIDDEN ... whatever You feel like a dwarf in front of it. I have taken 747s several times, but this one ... good lord, it seems it is twice as big as the 747 (but it is not obviously) ... whenever you guys come to France for a trip, come to Toulouse, and we'll go to the Airbus site to have a private visit (with my cousin who works on it)
  13. ( you can win a mini model of the 380 ... not the actual $280 million one
  14. ( Today in Toulouse (where I work and live), the new Airbus plane was shown to the public after years of development. Several Heads of States and CEOs were there. It lasted for a few hours, but eventually, it turned up on TV for further information, click here. It really is impressive! Can you imagine? 24 meters high (72ft), 80 meters long (240ft) and 80 meters of wing span (240ft) ... one engine is as wide as a 737 aircraft ... it can host as many as 555 people and up to 800 ... I am proud today to be in the region where it has been made.
  15. ( well, I am quite proud of this one ... it is a European probe, and although it had been sent on an American mission, the European Space Agency can be proud of it. The images are amazing ... it is the first time a picture fro so far is ever taken (on the surface of an object obviously) ... after the Moon and Mars, here comes Titan @ Arga: dull, but full of liquid evidence and methane and maybe fossilised life forms ... which we may know of in a few decades As for the sound, you may check on http://www.esa.int/esaCP/SEM85Q71Y3E_index_0.html .. there are two sounds of Titan, although it is not of a very good quality.
  16. ( 2 hours??? man, I would have kicked you out if you had been in my restaurant, doing nothing but admiring the Chipotles ...
  17. ( well, you can in France ... but I think that in here, it is not very expensive to have something registered in the copyright office ... a few Euros/dollars only.
  18. ( easy Surfing on theonering.net for information about Tolkien-related games -> a funny guy (BlackOp IIRC) told me there was a good game-to-be -> went to wildfiregames.com/tla on November 1st 2003 -> discovered there was actually a WFG forum in Jan or Feb 2004 (I thought it was TLA exclusive) have stayed in WFG eversince ...
  19. ( lol ... that's the funniest thing I have heard in 2005 how long did you stay in there? don't tell me it was over 2 hours??? If so, I can udnerstand why they kicked you out they may have thought that you were a tramp who was looking for heat in the restaurant
  20. ( yes, my step-father who designed a software for schools (educational thingy) sent himself a registered sealed letter ... and he also sent one to his lawyer ... in France at least, it is the same legal proof as a record in the copyright office ...
  21. ( for soccer fans, I saw Marc Overmars (go Netherlands ) in December 1999 ... he was shooting an advert for Peugeot ... then, I met several French actors and directors, which 99.9% of you in here have never heard of ... aside from that, I checked in at the airport with Oliver Stone years and years ago (1997) ...
  22. ( not much ... I already paid for their trip (and mine) to England (with my brother) ... I think that this is a good Christams gift ...
  23. ( the whole family and I are going to England to spend Christmas at my aunt's in London ... 18 of us are going to board on the plane on Monday ... I can imagine the amount of noise we are going to make ... so, if you guys don't hear from me after the 26th, it means our plane crashed !!!!!
