  2. ( Click on "Reply" and then, on "File Attachment" at the bottom of the screen ... right below the smilies (Post Icons) ...
  3. ( Well, Malte ... I am very very much in favor of the EU and European integration, but I am not really in favor of the European Constitution ... in France, we are going to have a referendum on May 29th and I am in the process of reading it ... there are some articles that suit me, but others are really not my poin of view ... so, when I have read it through, I will weigh the pros and the cons The Constitutional Treaty is not about the EU ... it is a vision of Europe with which I share some views, but with which I do not share others ...
  4. ( Well, I am David and my significant other is called Myra ... she is my wife I feel quite like Jillian ... when she is not around, I feel that something is missing ... she will be going to Asia for a month in July, and it's really going to be difficult here is a picture of her and me ...
  5. ( I am sorry to have this old thread back, 3 months after, but today was the maiden flight of the A380 ... I was there ... I will post some of my photos on this thread later on, but for the moment, you can enjoy there: http://www.aeroweb-fr.net/photos-airbus-a3...380-2704-n1.jpg http://www.aeroweb-fr.net/photos-airbus-a3...380-2704-n2.jpg http://www.aeroweb-fr.net/photos-airbus-a3...380-2704-n3.jpg http://www.aeroweb-fr.net/photos-airbus-a3...380-2704-n6.jpg it was so big ... so slow when it took off ... it seems it was so light ... well, it was a great experience ... and I am so proud the first flight was performed in my home region
  6. ( Gérard Depardieu shot a film a decade ago about Cyrano de Bergerac and it was quite a success over here. It was a very good film ... it is the original play made into a film ... a bit like the Romeo and Juliet with Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes ...
  7. ( 0AD ... to see where Jesus was born ... and around 36AD, time of his death ... I would like to see Rome at the time of Michaelangelo as well ... to see what it was like before he designed the cupola ...
  8. ( KingTut ... it's Cyrano de Bergerac, a French classic ... Bergerac is a little town, 100 miles from where I live ... he is the local hero As for me, I read "Angels and Demons" lately ... and "the Foucault Pendulum" by Umberto Eco ...
  9. ( Well, all in all, prices in rural France must be roughly the same as in deep rural America ... and prices in Paris must be the same as in New York, to a certain extent ... the cheapest hotel you can find in Paris is €35 ... that is US$40 ... but, you won't have a bathroom in the room with that price ... a room with bathroom must be a minimum of €45-50 ... per night obviously.
  10. ( And you should amend the title as well it is not "Habemus Papa" , but it should be "Habemus Papam" since "Papa" is at the accusative (that is to say the object) ... We have what? a Pope ....
  11. ( Well, a pack of 6 in here is less than €4, but if you buy a can in those automated machines, it will cost you roughly €1 I can't believe we are having a discussion on Coke bottles as a comparison, a Big Mac Meal in McDonald's is €4.50 IIRC (haven't been to McDonald's for months ...)
  12. ( Well, the oil companies can become bankrupt, but the employees can work in hydrogen instead but the CEOs can be made redundant
  13. ( Well, having been to most of the countries you quote (except Belgium) very recently, I can say that Spain has become cheaper than Italy now ... and England is leading from a far distance But it's true that soft drinks are quite expensive in cafés ... in vendors, a can of Coke is generally between €1 and €1.50 depending on where you are ...
  14. ( Yehey!! Texacco, Total-Fina, BP, Shell, and all the other oil companies will be bankrupt and the world will finally be at peace
  15. ( a lego set ??? good lord ... I haven't bought legos for at least 15 years I can tell you that a baguette costs € 0.75 ... that is US$ 0.90 ... then, a liter of petrol costs € 1 .. that is US$1.20 (but that doesn't count since US oil has no tax and is subsidised ) ... what else ... ah ... 10 blank CDs cost € 5-6 ... that's a good example
  16. ( I was about to post to say it is Nelson's statue when I saw he missed an arm ... then, I saw Ykkrosh's post of Trafalgar Square Well done man! can you post the article with that picture? I would be highly interested in knowing what the connection is ...
  17. ( Well, it depends where you are ... it is definitely expensive to live in Paris (not as much as in London though) ... but outside large urban areas, life is not as expensive ... it is surely cheaper in France than it is in England or in Germany ... but it is more expensive in France than it is in Spain or Italy ...
  18. ( Hey guys ... I have noticed that nearly everybody here wants to meet me ... I am so popular ... ** becoming the real Curufinwë ** .... so stop flattering
  19. ( Johnny Depp lives in the US, IIRC ... he is simply married to a French woman (singer/actress) and they spend a lot of time in France ...
  20. ( I'd better not meet you Randy ... I will fight you till death !!!
  21. ( Maybe one day, we can have a Europe WFG meeting and in America, they can do the same ... then, the others can organize something too
  22. ( no, but it constitutes its Head ... so, the Church is always influenced by the Pope in action ... And to be honest, I don't think the new Pope will be much more liberal ... afterall, 95% of the voting cardinals were appointed by JP2 ...
  23. ( Well, they obviously can't say that the previous Popes were wrong ... the Pope is the person who is direct link with God and Jesus ... ... he is supposed to be right after Jesus, so he can't take a wrong decision ... in practice, Popes say the contrary of what has been said previously, but they say it in a manner that makes you think they never contradict with previous ones
  24. ( It's far from Paris ... you'll need a car ... you can take the train there, but it may be more expensive than renting a car ... and remember, in France (and Europe), most of the cars have manual gears.
