  1. I agree with with Lion.Kanzen here. I think this is a very accurate, realistic feature to have implemented.
  2. Age of Empires never had unit ranking, but only upgrades via tech.
  3. Do not be so sure. The community is decent, but we have no idea who the "guest" flow are. I don't know the laws of your country, but generally you'll have to copyright and register it with a lawyer. And you should never rush writing anything. It takes time. The more and effort into a story the more interesting it is. But anyway, I look forward to reading it
  4. Oh lol I haven't played that, that's why I never recognized it.
  5. Firstly I am not "scorning" older games. AoE/II is old yes but there's no excuse for the @#$% graphics. That's just pure laziness of the dev in all factualness. No excuses. They could of done way better. And some modders including the members of the dev for this game (0 A.D.) have proven it but some of their fine mods for AoE II. So again no excuses Microsoft Games dev are LAZY and didn't bother researching what units actually looked like, and a lot of other things. Something totally opposite here... This dev "religiously" makes a conservative effort in authenticit, something I respect the most...... So as your title says, which I will gladly repeat.... Darn good job to the 0 A.D. Dev
  6. The archery range is very nice. Who made it?
  7. Hi and welcome to the community. I'll read the first chapter when I have a little time. As a matter of interest, what copyrights and protection have you put on your work? Anyone can just build on a single chapter published before completion and there's your book compromised.
  8. This formation was first introduced by the Greeks and Romans as was actually called the flying wedge. The Germanic tribes used it extensively as well. The Celts very very seldom... The Celts never used formations.
  9. So the UFO sightings seen today, are actually boulders flung off by Medieval catapults 7 centuries coated in Greek fire making their way back into Earth's orbit..... Lmfao
  10. I am apologizing to the dev members involved in the black death post yesterday for the disrespect and uncivil tone.
  11. Like you I also am an AOE/AOEII veteran. And boy... 0 A.D. is way better....... This is Thee RTS of all time. Why? Because no other sensible RTS in the era actually exists, besides this one, and I doubt will any time soon and with beautiful graphics such as 0 A.D. Comparing AOE/II to 0 A.D. Is like comparing a black and white television to an HD 3D TV lol... The key thing I love about it is ART ACCURACY! AOE units SUCKED!
  12. Having a look now at it, its NOT my cup of tea. 0 A.D. Is still the best in my opinion.
  13. Yeah read it then come and criticize me lolz Are you sure about that? The way I see it, you don't know a lot about this subject either. Umm WELL THEN WHAT'S YOUR POINT???? If India is @#$% and filthy like you "claim" it is, then why hasn't there been a plague????? lol.... Ehh Now seen as though the "know it alls" are partaking in this thread, I'm parting.
  14. Nope I'm not wrong Viruses don't always mutate unless there's a need to. In some viruses mutations occurs regularly, constantly resisting the other changes of viruses that attack it. If an operating system is constantly being exploited by injecting the same bit of code, without being patched, why should I search for more exploits? Programmers are lazy and so are viruses.
  15. I actually meant clean as in healthy. And no, some places are filthy but compared to the rest of the world India is clean. Believe me. Wrong. Viruses mutate regardless of animal to human ratio. Viruses, germs, bacteria are constantly changing and adapting due to the advent of medicine. Think of exploits and patches in a similar way, if understand code. And HIV is found in every species. It only proves positive if it passes a certain threshold. Depends our concentrate the blood is. Standard tests are conducted around 1:400 blood dilution, tests prove possible either case at 1:1 undiluted blood sample.
  16. India have never had plagues because though a huge percentage are poor, they are the clean people. For 3rd countries that are more prone to plagues will be the African countries. But if there's any plague that will appear from nowhere, I'm putting my money on the west lol... It will emerge out of some lab experiment, or be some type of a mutant bacteria or virus that has slowly been consuming GM crops. The likelihood of this is quite high. We have already observed the effects of GM corn which is consumed by bacteria develop its own pesticide, that when they break down the corn in the digestive tract of animals and humans, the bacteria are then effected, and start intoxicating its system with the pesticide. Like everything else, its the greed of corporation THAT WANT NOW for a quick profit, instead of extensive research in the "cause" and "effect" of trying to play god. So this is where something like a plague is most likely to arise. The second would be biological weapons and the experimentation occurring in those fields might produce a "leak" which could lead to a serious pandemic outbreak.
  17. I hope the dev take this as a really good feature for this beautiful game. I think its time we get rid of the ancient aoe way of sending resources to people magically. Instead I propose donkey supply carts. These units should move fairly slowly, and should have a capture option with the resources So let's say now I send 1000 each of the three resources to xyz, I send many many of these donkey units carrying all these resources to xyzs market. Let's limit a donkey units carrying capacity to 50. But the more donkey units get deployed, does not effect population. That or if there's lag issues, probably in crease the capacity to maybe 150 and only a 10 unit limit. This also paves new concepts in the way resources are stored in the game. I propose that grannaries, and a new store house buildings are made limited to a CC's radius, but can be subject to the original one forcing traffic around an empire to constantly supply the city. All of this is actually making gathered resources something that's tangible in the game like it were an entity. So during attacks if you capture a storage house you now have access to that players entire stockpile
  18. Well not quite, however similar mechanics. But you are still in control over everything as normal, however the moment that loyalty hits the red let's just say, then your population converts into an uncontrollable AI and all hell breaks lose. so as opposed to a Stronghold variant, where people leave, here they fight and cause problems forcing the player to think politically and strategically. So how would the politics then work? Well picture this as one of countless examples... Say Mythos and I agreed a trade deal for 50 slaves for 500 wood, I then send my slaves to his city... But... Half way there leper attacks the wagon chain and kills or either captures them. Now all of a sudden, Mythos and I are now at a loss. So we host a senate talk and discuss how we should resolve matters and when. Either ally in military force, or boycott leper by threatening other factions to cease trade routs and put heavy sanctions on leper to hurt his economy. So you can understand the political nature? There's a lot more to this than what I have mentioned though
