  1. So he is requesting to have an Olmecs project? @Lion.Kanzen This is fine however, a couple things should be clarified first. We need to have assurance of dedication to this project. Essentially we do endorse a no-project limit, however within reason. The problem is, we can't take on projects with only one person interested. In light of his proposal, I would back a project that deals with all South American civilations, Aztecs, Mayans, Incas, Toltecs, etc, etc... But if he's willing to dedicate time for this project, ask him if he knows of anyone else that wants to join him? Or if he can get others to help him. If we have a convincing interest and following for this, I can arrange to have it done We don't need another dormant "Rogue Republic" on our hands
  2. Good thing we have an translator in Lion.Kanzen. Tell him I said he's welcome to the Council. Also he is over 5 posts, I'll add him to our PM.
  3. Can't you overwrite the texture files?
  4. I also thought gray. Didn't know pink was default lol I thought Stan was trying give her some feminism there...
  5. Also a gold bow will be more appropriate than a pink one.
  6. Perfection = quality. And how much quality you put into your work determines it's perfection.

    [Research] Mints

Keeping an eye on this, cause we can use this in the Rome project too And nice work Lion that research is very informative.
  8. I like the surface of the blade, it has that ruggered iron texture to it. A lot like Vikings made their blades. Although, you could smooth and polish it so it becomes more metallic "silver" just a little so it smoothens out the glint a bit more. The handle is nice, but the bottom piece still looks the same, that needs to be buffed up like the top bit. Once that's done, it's set.
  9. That's looking much better. The bronze/gold pieces of the hilt/handle needs to be defined more. So the patterns and grooves show clearer.
  10. It's looking nice Stan. But it needs more of a glint in the blade, and more definition on the hilt. The texture still seems a bit dull.
  11. That also just be textured that way, rather than sheered. The middle line that tapers in the center of a sword, or any weapon, is called a blood groove. Contrary to it's name, it had nothing to do with blood, only weight, to lighten the blade. Also to give a bit of a visual effect too
  12. Welcome to 0 A.D. and to the Council of Modders niektb and I are part of the management sector and am founder of the Council. Brief history of the Council: Recently, we have established a Council amongst our modding teams here, to bolster our initiatives. Realizing that only way to effectively liven up routine and blend extra minds into all the projects to aid in diversity, skill, and cooperation, we quickly fused together as a managing team that strives to see our work through. We also hold true to ourselves loyalty to 0 A.D. as a game, and strive to become it's backbone to ensure its survival, with the intent of introducing and recruiting, artistic, enthusiastic individuals like yourself to be the stone in our walls, which shall steadily grow, transforming our endeavors for 0 A.D. into reality. Breathing life, and animating artistic thought into code. It's by obtaining a multiplicity of skill, in all the variants listed in our recruitment ad, that guarantees and enforces the longevity of RTS's, and RTS in the old school sense (AOE/II) So we can hold true to ourselves that stiffy disks and floppy disk drives died out, RTS certaintly won't if we have anything to say about it! And I believe... One of the most crucial and awarding attributes for a Council member here, is a love for history. This is an inspiration focal on putting forward the drive and willingness to apart of such a thing, it's essentially why RTS still exists, is because of people with said inspirations. 0 A.D. is truly in my respect, an RTS that answers for all the demands and WISHES one had in the days of playing Age of Empires. 0 A.D. grants the wishes of accuracy, freedom, features, art, gameplay and more. and designed with modders in mind. So we have the most beautiful facility here to project history in a beautiful engine. 0 A.D. once started as Rome mod, fueled by the same wishes mentioned above. and whilst Rome was in mind during it's creation, it shifted from a mod hybrid into a game of it's own, catering for all the civilizations in the time period. AoE dieing out, outdated and becoming to stagnant in gameplay, it was no surprise how things changed. So having a passion for Rome, I decided to go ahead and re light the passionate red flame of Rome into a mod project of my own. Simply because my vision of Rome in an RTS is still unsatisfied with what's here. Though 0 A.D. as 100% improvement from previous RTSs, I feel it can be 120% 0 A.D.'s Rome had her done and a bath. My project of Rome, will be it's beautiful sister with long blonde hair in a bright shiny sexy red dress. I hope you may be a taylor in sowing such a dress We also especially hold strict accuracy and authenticity policies in our work, and as such, you will be seeing plenty of researchers and historical debates happening in these threads, now, and in time to come. This is normal here. Now with the introduction out of the way, and all the woffling, do make yourself at home. At this present time, we haven't got anything major to do in terms of tasks. We are still building the Council to a certain point before work really starts to begin. We haven't even got a staff summery to see who is actually in the Council. So there's still a heck of a lit to do. But important thing to remember, is that we are in no rush. Obviously we would like everything now, but we in no rush We do urge all councilors to include our signature in theirs to define us on the forum. You will also be included in our PM, for this however, you will have to make 4 more posts before you can be added. Spam protection If you have any questions, feel free to ask.
  13. I urge that we start issuing tasks for this project. Starting with Byzantines. Architecture Units Art Mythos_Ruler may probably want to be involved, as Byzantium is his thing. But we have to at least get something going here, this project is really dormant. Yes I know the Vikings are in progress... But I don't see any tasks submitted for them, so we need to get the ball rolling here.
  14. Having a quick squiz through all of the ideas mentioned, I am also liking where this is going. Interesting Stan mentioned becoming like total war, yeah, because the foundation of the Rome project will similar in concept, BUT ... obtaining RTS gameplay. Total wars was nice at first, but became limited and boring. I like RTS because you have: Control over everything Freedom A live active world More things to manage. You see what I want for project Rome is a combination of things, which Hephaestion is exactly 100% in sync with. An RTS with TW features, fused with city building elements for more micro-management(which I love) and the ease of RTS freedom to control every single aspect in the game world. What this essentially is an RTS "Swiss army knife" Meaning an RTS with loads of things to do, and looks beautiful and is satisfying to the player. For me, 0 A.D. Is only "satisfying" RTS out there presently, in my opinion. And I think we can nourish this engine with even more so it becomes a real "heaven game"
  15. No need. It decided its fine. Carry on As you were
  16. @Zophim Well currently, you might want to check out: http://www.wildfiregames.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=18417 It involves a debate whether or not the Rome project must implement attic helmets for elite units (e.g. Generals, preatorians, primis pillus). I haven't closed the topic off, as I feel it isn't really resolved. There seems to be shadows in historical references to which suggests they never used them, whereas, pottery and pictographs suggests they did. So yeah currently that is the controversial task open at the moment. I also shall include you in our PM
  17. Its not necessary, I have thought about it when we had our SF established, but then I chose not to put it in there. Because some guests might find this and choose to sign up. So, now the way that I see it, I'd hate for this thread to die. So I changed my mind
  18. This thread is becoming a little too pervasive now in the forums general area. We now have a general area of our own, can we not redirect topics such as these to there instead. Thank you
  19. I think what Lion was trying to say is that, is Zophim going to join the Council? Lion.Kanzen is co-owner of Arestia, but I don't fully believe that project has been fully annexed under CoM. Whilst a few members of that project have joined CoM, others have not fully integrated. Somewhere those decisions have to be discussed and concluded. Then we resolve the project so it can operate with no discord, and confusion.
  20. Welcome to the team Shieldwolf The latest research task currently over at: http://www.wildfiregames.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=18417#entry287438 If you want to add input
  21. Nice And um no it looks like everything is there
  22. @All Councilors As I said, I would forward a request for our sub, and I have. To also be transparent for the council, here's my submitted request. Hi feneur Today I'm submitting a request to you on behalf of CoM to have a sub directory tree made. For reasons that are proving to highlight our need for this, amongst them include; A, most importantly a space that's orderly in which to better run and facilitate the council, it's members and it's tasks. I initially, when we last had our discussion, wanted one for my mod. But indeed, the importance of the council far outweighs the importance of that. I see this council as a perfect way to strengthen our aims and ideas and by uniting everybody working on their ideas, we have a catalyst of enthusiasm, and drive, that ties all of our minds in one sync and we all able to achieve our ideas collectively. What I invariably want to achieve with this council, is to encourage more and more people to mod, and possibly promote the game more. And because 0 A.D. Is one the of the most beautiful RTSs I've seen and played, I see loads of potential. From playing this game, my ideas and vision for these possibilities ran wild. Then I discovered other people also had amazing ideas too. But I saw them struggling, not just with implementing their ideas, but their teams falling apart. I saw many things wrong here, and having seen to few members working on them, I knew there's a better way to solve that. CoM is now here, a hybrid team composed of many, but as a management team which still keeps their teams in check, but as a council we now take on a new role, and that is to ensure that the pillars stand. So in a way CoM is basically there to support the structure of everyone and we all work as one team. C for creativity and M is marble for strength Creativity in marble for strength. So effectively I wanted to contribute to 0 A.D., now I'm doing it, my way. But not quite there yet, but I'm sure given enough time, things may change for the better So here is the structure we agreed on: /Council of Modders /Projects -/1,000 A.D. -/Aristeia -/ROME /Announcements /General Topics: - general discussion and ideas - FAQ - recruitment /Game Dev Topics: - Bug reports - Programming tasks tracking - technical discussion /Art Dev Topics: - Art task tracking - Fan art /Tutorials & Guides /Project Managment
