Simply because wackyserious is a team member from the Council of Modders (the team behind Millennium A.D.) @wcs: btw, I think you can scrap that 'Rookie' word in your signature
-
No, this mod is not canceled. But it is never released till now. That's why you can't find any downloads. Oh, and would you please stop with opening a new PM for every reply?

Create Group does not work anymore on 17298P-release (22 nov 2015)
niektb replied to frita's topic in Bug reports
Lol, no this bug won't be fixed in 0.19 unless it's something in your local configuration files. (We don't release hotfixes or anything here at 0 A.D.) -
Hmm, then it will be fixed next release...
-
Tomcelmare, I've updated it right now (couldn't do it before, sorry for that)
-
Tomcelmare, is that just with Rise of the East or does 0 A.D. crash in general? I'm uploading a new version that fixes the error on the random maps (though it still generates a warning but that requires more research)
-
I understand what bouke wants to say. 0 A.D. only uses range building restrictions, so it would be logical to use it for the markets too. (instead of using something entirely new). It would also solve the problem of city areas (since those wouldn't be needed anymore)
-
No, but they have a huge (read: broad) selection of Citizen-Soldiers making them powerful in many ways, especially in Phase II (their defences are pretty strong too and they have some unique technologies so I don't think it's an underpowered civ)

The Council is both happy and proud to announce a brand new release!!! What is it?Rise of the East focusses on one faction the Chinese, during the Han Dynasty to be precise. With it's fancy theme this is surely one to mark! As a release name we've chosen Jīngzhì. This word means refinement. We've chosen this name because this mod is coming closer and closer to it's final state. What is new?The new release features a new building: the 'Government Center'. (modeled by Stanislas69) (See the big building in the top image) This buildings comes available in Phase III and features some technologies unique to the Han Chinese, to give you an edge to your opponents. The tech icons are made by niektb: Current features: - One playable faction: Han (No worries, the civilizations from the main game are still playable) - 2 Custom Random Maps: Loess Plateau and Gobi Desert (made by Spahbod) Who are we? The Council of Modders was formed up of two small modding teams and a few newcomers: Aristeia (about the bronze age) and Millennium A.D. (about medieval times) CoM aims to create a umbrella for all wannabee modders and help everyone needed and of course create their own projects, one of them is Rise of the East. Rise of the East was added to the project list in early-2014 after an agreement with Scion's lead Rob Kimball. That having said: We owe a large one to them for having paved the road for us to continue in their absence! How to:1. Unzip the download but leave the inner archive intact. 2. Place the unzipped folder into <installationdirectory>/binaries/data/mods. You'll see another folder there called 'public'. 3. Launch the game and enable the mod in Options>Mod Selection. Press 'Start Mods'. 4. Enjoy the mod! Download: Help needed! In the last few months some members retired leaving us shorthanded. We are currently especially in the need of artists. So if you're a talented artist with a passion for history and you would like to help us out, please contact us using a PM or (preferably) in this thread: http://wildfiregames...showtopic=18412 Thanks in advance! Our thanks go to everyone that helped us to achieve this mod through contributing, play testing or in another way! If you have tips / suggestions, feel free to let us know. Also if you find bugs, let them know too. Support 0 A.D. if you like us: http://play0ad.com/community/donate/ han_china.zip

You really oughta play Persian Highlands sometime, Alekusu!

I moved and renamed the topic to reflect the nature better. Like Stan says, Rise of the East Sun Tzu 18 is not compatible with Alpha 19. But don't worry, a new release of RotE is very near!

#1 is already in the game

[a19 replays] Can we have a forum for recorded games?
niektb replied to _RCF_DiAmOnD's topic in Game Replays
The game already supports this, it is only a matter of putting the right folder at the right position (something that the user should do). Also, you don't need to download replays... -

I'm one of the members of the Council of Modders, so Aristeia, Millennium A.D. and Rise of the East (just check out our subforums if you want to know more: http://wildfiregames.com/forum/index.php?showforum=436 ) -

[Millenium A.D. Part1] Saxon Architectual Reference Pack
niektb replied to Le Druide Gaulois's topic in Art dev
Actually me personally was merely thinking about the Saxons during the Viking Age like this mod: http://www.twcenter.net/wiki/Viking_Invasion_II But maybe we could somehow introduce a sub faction by offering a 2nd Phase III that changes some civ bonuses / unlocks different champion units / something? Or wouldn't that be a good compromise? -

niektb replied to Le Druide Gaulois's topic in Art dev
Well, I actually thought they were more or less equal to each other but when I needed info I always looked in the Anglo-Saxon history That's where the civ emblem comes from too. -

But in that we case we maybe should rename the civ to Anglo-Saxons to reflect the faction. (at least I figure most of us had that branch in mind when working on the civ) -

Isn't that strange actually since both Angles and the Saxons originate from the Northern part of Germany? -
You're talking about multiplayer? How does the game perform in singleplayer?
-
Actually OBS can write to a file simultaneously to streaming iirc so that could solve your problem.

Too bad the mod files aren't included (else I would have a bunch of mod replays...) -

Or, Stan, could you post them in the Millennium A.D. PM so we can all see and refer to it? -

I googled for it and it seems that I (or any repository admin) can hook 2 mail adresses to a commit notification system. We haven't used it till now so I personally don't mind if your mail address is one of those 2. (just send a PM with the e-mail adress you like to have your notifications at)
