  1. I think the wealthy were colorful and the less wealthy used what they have. I think it would be interesting to look up what was traded between the ptolemaics and other empires. For instance if the Ptolemaics were to be trading Turmeric, yellow dyes could be something used a lot.
  2. Which is why I posted some primary resources and another interpretation as well as further researching the materials. Im sorry Mythos for getting on your nerves about that. Its just that some of these references look too colorful to me and I question the artist's interpretation and where do they find the information they get for drawing the successor armies. For instance, I could not tell what the heck that tower howdah turret is made out of because it looks like painted clay bricks stacked on top of the african elephants back.
  3. This is the Carthaginian War Elephant This is the Seleucid War Elephant
  4. Going from my research, these miniatures describe Hellenistic War Elephants the best.
  5. I feel that including the Normans in that paragraph is a bit unnecessary. Otherwise you should include the Rus, and Byzantines.
  6. Vikings also conquered and held England for a while. Vikings controlled a lot more than England.
  7. If that is the case then an Agema Phalangiate or Reformed Romanized Infantry could be included.
  8. I am asking because I might be interested in contributing models and textures. Great mod to play for Mount&Blade: Warband - Vikingr http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,286569.0.html This mod really goes into details of the units for Vikings.
  9. The Ptolemaic Agema helmet that I can only find in Enrique's reference and no where else on the internet. My interpretation of the helmet worn on the soldier to the left of the man carrying the horn on the Nile mosaic. Some sort of kettle hat shown on the Sidon Stelai The Thracian Cap from references Successor Officer Helmet from reference
  10. Are you guys developing the mod?
  11. Alright, thank you. When I am finished texturing my model, how do I send both.dae file and textures back? Do I save in .dds format? Am I required to apply textures to model first in Blender? I made my models by creating the mesh and UV Maps in Blender, texture the UV map in GIMP, and then combine both texture and mesh on to a separate program for a game that displays the model. In that program I can tweak all of the preexisting shadows for the object and directly act as a resource for the game I was playing. What I am trying to say is that I am new to the process of importing/exporting and texturing meshes for 0 A.D.
  12. How do I retrieve the mesh? When I click on elephant_african_forest.dae, I get a line of code and not a download.
  13. I think each building should play soft ambient sound loops when in view of the camera. It would be really cool to hear chanting from the temples, drilling from the barracks, and crowd noises from the markets and town centers. I would enjoy hearing the army shouts.
  14. My interpretation of the helmet second from the right of the Nile mosaic (soldier next to the man with the horn).
  15. I thought I just said I would clean up the many faces in the final shape? Nevermind.. I'll deepen the platform and post a second image.
  16. Better? I will clean up the faces if this is appropriate.
  17. I think the most memorial part of Age of Empires 1 were the sounds the buildings and units make, and the music that played. Heck, I still blast original age of empire music in my car at traffic lights.
  18. Watched that entire video. How did you get to city phase so quickly? I think the game wouldve played very differently if that fortress wasnt built the second Enrique began to invade. I also liked your sneaky town builders too.
  19. Is there any unit prop meshes I can find some where to compare sizes.
  20. Sure. I guessed that I would have to conserve the number of faces I used for the tower and instead just to create a bump map effect for that ledge. I'll chuck in an extra lump on the tower.
  21. I am currently working on painting the textures. Gonna pop up a screenie of my tower in case I need to triangulate or if the shape needs to be changed.
  22. Give the Ptolemaics a champion infantry unit called the "agema." The agema were crack troops taken out of the phalanxes and placed into an elite one. They were the guard of Ptolemy and recieved the highest pay. The agema would sport muscled cuirasses, greaves, and plumed helmets. The Seleucids have their own agema as well. Also, hurry up and create some special ability for a ptolemaic hero. I'm still rather pissed off from the night my 100-200 or so fully upgraded pikemen were dissolved by Carthaginian War Elephants because of some stupid attack bonus from a hero. I will put up a task thread about the towered elephants when I have my free time this busy weekend
