Working on some new tip images... My computer is quite old, so I usually keep my graphics settings at medium to low. But every time I crank them up to take some screenshots, I'm just blown away by how good everything looks - even up close. It's truly incredible. Huge respect to the people behind it.

Greetings! 0 A.D. Alpha 27 is close to be released, and so is the new version of LocalRatings mod. For those who are already playing and experimenting on the game release candidate, LocalRatings v0.27.1 can be downloaded from one these links: Downloads: Latest Release (.pyromod) | Latest Release (.zip) | Older Releases Changes are minor: primarily port to A27, quality improvements and fixes. Also, players with equal name but different upper/lowercase combination of letters are identified as the same player. I will later announce when the mod is available for download from the in-game mod downloader.

I would be happy if we could get a 4v4 together. Although I have to admit that we are still a little stumped by the term "pro" within a free, open source game, and we have not yet agreed on a suitable alternative. I will be available in the early part of your time frame and will do a bit of subtle promotion inside lobby games until Sunday.

Ok, we need to schedule a time window on Sunday where plenty of people can test. We really should do a full 4v4 so we can measure the impact of the extensive performance enhancements. My window begins at 6PM or 18:00 UTC until 2AM UTC the following day. Some gameplay items to keep an eye out for: Capture balance: units defend capture attacks proportional to their capture attack, so women do not defend buildings from capture. cavalry capture attack is decreased, yet balance may still be problematic. Champion cavalry nerf is enough? Champion variant balance: cataphract, chariot, longsword if you use windows and don't want to uninstall a26, you can follow this guide:

ok, I think the only other game I ever had on this PC is super tux kart. I may reinstall to check. I'll let you know.

I see, thanks for the explanation. On Windows this is less likely to happen since the game keeps an exclusive access to the files it uses. E.g. you would not be able to override the public mod while the game is running. If bad things like this does happen though it might be nice to have an issue tracking that. The reason we do not install it there but rather in %LocalAppData% which resolves to C:\Users\yourname\AppData\Local is not all users have admin rights and are able to put it in program files. Also I imagine the game might have some issues with the space in the folder name

Any reason not to use the -writableRoot param ? This would store all the files installed and created by the game in the corresponding app folder. That's what the portable version of 0 A.D. uses.
