  1. You have played hundreds of temperate mainland games, maybe thousands? You mastered to hit the population cap of 200 before minute 13 with ease and your playbook contains a big variety of build orders as well as strategies? Good, let us call that a training for what comes now: The Ginnungagap christmas special Every day until christmas i'll reveal in this thread a lovingly selected map and setting specially chosen for you, furthermore times and dates when we'll play. I would love to in invite you warm-hearted to play together on woodless ice landscapes, a extinct vulcan or battlegrounds that might be flooded. Let's play some already half forgotten community maps and scenarios where so much gaia is crushing your base that it will make your CPU melt, increasing the warmth brought to you when some awesome community members come together for the simple joy of a good free game. Next game: House rules: Chat language: → Youth-friendly, → non-violent → and in a good manner. Who plays here: → Long term community members and experienced players. → No new or unknown accounts will be assigned to play. Accounts with a high number of games in my archive will probably be assigned automatically. If you not have been assigned automatically and think this game is for you write: "!play!" If you then are recognized by host or already assigned players you might get a seat. → If more players join then the map setting allows we will prioritize by game count. Means old accounts with more games played are privileged play. No first come first serve mentality here, this time. To verify your claims we use the lobby statistics and my replay archive where many of you are in 100+ games. This is for you. Mods & Cheats: Modify your GUI until your map looks like a candy cotton planet? → Yes please ! Bypass fog of war, view enemy statistics, scripted unit behavior? → Clear no ! Reading chat messages which are not addressed to you? → How dare you to even think about trying this ? No really, what is wrong with you? Balance: Balance is a myth. But let's try to discuss together, to find team compositions that will lead us to a fair and pleasureful game. By hitting ready you approve to given balance/myth. In game: After map was generated, a few seconds into the game, we pause for up to 2 minutes for a tactical team chat. Spectators are not allowed reveal any in game information. This also applies to writing "gg" if not specifically asked. Game list: (Hyperlink in map name) Edit history: (This post will be updated regulary to find actual game on first post)

  3. The accusations @Seleucids makes about @Norse_Harold's behavior in the past had been investigated back then by WFG staff, without finding evidence of misconduct by @Norse_Harold. On the other hand it's been proven that @Seleucids/@Yekaterina did commit serious violations of the terms of use back then, which did degrade the experience for other players. @Seleucids: Please stop repeating these accusations over and over. If you believe there has been misconduct by @Norse_Harold ever since, report that privately and with proper evidence. With that said, I'm locking this thread now, as any further discussion is unlikely to have a positive effect on the community.

  4. Hello! Long time enthusiast of 0 A.D. here. This game is still one of my favourite RTS to play and I'm super thankful to everyone making it a reality. That being said, I was wondering lately - could I bring it a bit closer to my ideal? My biggest love in strategies were always economy and deep gameplay during peace. But ironically enough, every game with economies lacked good fight, and military strategies tend to avoid too complex economic features (the latter for good reasons, to clarify). So, my question is as follows - I know there are mods adding new troops or even civilisations, but would it be possible to make mod that is major overhaul, touching a lot of aspects of the game and introducing whole new mechanics? How far one can go with such attempt? I'm asking because there's rising urge in me to create game that would fill that great balance, but I'm also curious if it was possible to achieve by modifying one of my favourite strategy games - given 0 A.D. was made with modding in mind. If it won't suffice I can always work on the game itself, but there's no harm in trying. For context, I never modded 0 A.D. before, but I have experience in modding other games (Minecraft, Morrowind) and programming, so I'm hoping this won't be particularly harder than my past experiences ^^

  5. Very good idea. I've tried without success to promote other maps or biomes. The culture needs to change but some maps could take some improvement too. I invite you to try to play svn/dev version on the busiest days. Playtesting could be very helpful for the release. But there won't be autociv I think.

  6. Yes it's possible a few mod in the past changed the way the game is played. It's quite the undertaking though You can add new JS components to handle more things and you'll have to tweak the GUI to display those new things.

  7. This should be interesting for skirmisher cavalry (Parthian and the like), yes. Not all cavalry of the era usedd such hit-and-run tactics, though.

  8. Ok, I've never actually tested it in mp because i though i would oos the game. But I knew it wasn't the best solution anyway. I think my best suggestion was to be able to choose targets with box selection, as this would probably be very rewarding way of micromanaging. It would also be a much easier way to counter hero dance with reasonable micro: instead of having to click 200times, you could simply box select some targets, and units won't be baited. It would be rewarding micro because you could still want to issues a lot of theses orders to make a precise tactic, but it wouldn't be spam clicking like current sniping meta.

  9. With your permission, I'm going to give my opinion... Playing like this is very bizarre, it seems like a space RTS rather than a historical one. I understand Yekaterina's desire to win. Looking at those graphs gives me a headache and would even make me dizzy.

  10. I had to make quite a lot of adjustments. Can you check again? There were a lot holes, and duplicated geometry. and a bunch of useless faces. wonder_wip_g2.blend

  11. I am at work at the moment, so I don't have time to check it up, but has anything more been made known of that tomb they found in Macedonia last year? It might be an option if it turns out to be related to this time period and can be displayed in a nice way.
