  3. As I mentioned in the below topic we would like your help to come up with questions to include on an FAQ page on the web site. I'll start with two which are really common (though the first one has become a lot less frequent after the Alpha releases when people have been able to see for themselves what state the game is in): Q: When will the game be released? A: When it is done. Sadly we are unable to be much more specific than that, there are too many things we just can't know. We work on the game in our free time, so we don't know how much time we will have available for the game. We haven't created a game before, so we don't know how long it takes to do one thing or the other. Q: Will you put the game on Steam? A: We will look into getting the game on Steam to make it easier for people to find out about it, but not until we reach the Beta phase at earliest. We want the game to be as good as possible so people will not miss it among all the other games which are on there.

  5. Yes, i've seen it but i'm far from convinced such a tool can improve the AI without an internal understanding of the topology, available resources, obstructions and so on. But i'd be happy to be wrong.

  7. It's actually a pretty nice question to get, it means that people like the game and want others to find out about it and like it as well after all But sure, it would probably help a bit to include it on an FAQ page Since it would be a bit silly with a page with just one or two items I'll create a new thread where you (plural ) can help us come up with questions and finetune the answers

  8. Bump* I hope that this is the first item on your website's FAQ. Every now and then people who just found out about the game keep suggesting it. If the threads that keep raising this issue get on my nerves, then I don't know how you guys must feel.

  9. Map: English Channel (Naval Blockade) Players: (arcadius, Hannibal Barca, lou_diamonds, elexis) vs. (Finch, bb, Vercingetorix, dkaiser92) Summary: Example for a successful naval rush (garrisoned ships at minute 5), resulting in an all-encompassing naval blockade, ending the game strategically in the first 10 minutes. The blockade ensures that enemies will never be able to build docks and ships. Uncontested maritime superiority allows continuous lodgement, regular interception of adversary trade and the build of Civic Centers on the undefendable territory. Heavy warships garrisoned with catapults finally wipeout the last attempts to fortify the landing area. english_channel_naval_blockade.zip

  10. Managed to get some time to work on the textures. I've taken the liberty to create my own details, please do correct it if you see inaccuracies in the design. .

  12. The code looks performant enough. The Math.pow() operation is only done when SetBuildMultiplier is called (i.e. whenever a builder is added or removed). Repair and GetRepairRate are likely called more often on average (and these functions are trivial, just 4 divisions). Useful 0 A.D. math includes computing when economic upgrades are worth it in comparison to creating more workers, or comparing the profit/cost ratio of trade carts with gatherers, or computing how many units survive when outnumbering the enemy using Lanchester's laws.
