  1. OK, found a short motif that works well in all styles! http://wildfiregames.com/users/omri/SFX/Carthage_1.mp3 http://wildfiregames.com/users/omri/SFX/Carthage_2.mp3 http://wildfiregames.com/users/omri/SFX/Celtica_1.mp3 http://wildfiregames.com/users/omri/SFX/Celtica_2.mp3 I went with a simple, easy to recognize three note pattern, with harmonies that resolve from minor to major for extra gratification! Here are very basic, hastily recorded examples for Carthage and Celtica, just to illustrate how this mini-melody works in both eastern and western styles. The second phase reach effect is enhanced with a cymbal swell and a larger chord in the string section, and also played an octave higher. At the moment they're a bit bare and small but I figured it'd be best to leave some room for cheering instead of filling them up too much. If you like this general direction I'll record them properly (for all civs) and get the raw files to LAVS for integration. Omri

  2. I dont know why, but I really wanted to mess with the farm fields to make them look more... used. Civ-specific too! Here's what I got so far, Desert and Mediterranean fields edited from those terrain textures

  4. I like them too. When you get them ready send it please so I can complete the SD. Mythos, we will apply your suggestion to the sounds.

  6. Okay so I guess the recent optimisation will improve overall menu performance at least.

  8. That's the current idle button in SVN. As to the new fields, I really like them. They look so much more - organic.

  9. I usually play with Macedonians (of course) but also Spartans because of their strong hoplites. Main features of the game that attracted me the most are it's realism and historical accuracy.

  11. I've implemented the vikings civ file (atop of the gauls and not really finished yet though), added the music and reworked the warship into a real longboat! I'll do a commit into the github repo. As you probably can see, the boat is way too large and lacks a lot of eye-candy / props (any volunteers to change that?). Still my thanks go to the art team for creating this one long ago.

  12. I don't know if its possible to make them map specific. One of the more learned programmy-types might be able to tell you. As far as I'm planning, I'm making them civ specific. I'm doing a bit of research to see who gets what in terms of crops. Seems the Brythonic tribes had very little in terms of 'greens' before the Roman incursion. Grain centered agriculture. I was surprised
