  2. Why don't you just "replace" the basic spearman with your elite one in the Town phase? Check how Marian reforms replace Roman units, maybe you can do it similarly? No need to upgrade the barracks just to replace the unit roster.
  3. Did you look at how tower upgrades are coded?
  4. So it doesn't sound like it will be possible to do what i want with buildings. The above "coding" works, but you can still build the other baracks and p1 and then they just take no time to upgrade in p2. But again if someone knows another way please let me know! Another thought is can you restrict a unit to a certian phase, like rome spearman can only be trained in p1? Using "only" "all" in requirements? I will have to play around with that. But as always any community ideas are always appreciated!
  5. Our mod tries to represent the civs a little more historically but still kinda of within the time from of thhe game. There is a p4 (empire phase) for Rome, and now we are trying to work on "early republic" as p1 and then p2-p3 sorta of what the base game mostly covers.
  6. @Player of 0ADwhy don’t you accept the challenge? I’m not defending Reza but if you accept the challenge it might show win or lose the need to rebalance or not. With CS and women just gather food and wood aslan do is send only fanatics and it doesn’t matter if they die because there will always be waves coming back over. Im sure this strategy may not work/win on 1v1 all the time but its going to be annoying on team games. This will also show there is no need of CS if a faction has this type of warrior not needing extra resources like metal. Since most of the players commenting here disagree with Reza would it hurt to rebalance fanatics requiring metal? Nevertheless in this game all entities should require metal from women to elite units to buildings. Literally how can they work without metal?

  8. On Ubuntu you likely use Gnome, then the window manager should be mutter, session type is either X11 or Wayland and sdl version you can get by running "apt show libsdl2" in terminal. I remembered a mutter bug wrt confinement region https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/mutter/-/issues/2740 which is still open, so yes this might be the reason.
  9. Shame on them! I thought it's metaphorical though. Well, sometimes going to the destination is your destiny. Alright, I'll take one more guess on [4]. But first please gimme a minute while I...
  10. That's because I didn't check before writing this. You need to hold the left mouse button and rotate the cursor while placing the building. The building will then rotate.
  11. It's not the settings. How to find the stack trace? Terminal calls the error like this: Speicherzugriffsfehler (Speicherabzug geschrieben)
  12. Oh man, that's on me then, mixed up destination and destiny. I was wondering, that should be easy. Also Yoda said "judge me by my size do you" Siege towers didn't swore do no harm (hippocratic oath) On today's hint:
  13. How to find out window manager, session type and sdl-version? Distro: Ubuntu 22.04.3 LTS (Jammy Jellyfish) - is that an issue?
  14. Roses are red, violets are blue, there is always some Aslan who's better than you
  15. That depends on the kb layout. That only makes the building disappear for me? @Elzakida Title screen > Settings, or in-game > menu you can see (and change) the hotkeys.
  16. I see, so it was more like a destination for the trader! That got me confused. I actually had a nice idea for "a trader's other destiny", which would be a spy. You know, using the never ever researched tech. That would be a nice answer, but it didn't match. Yoddhas, of course! It starts showing I haven't been playing much recently. Only clubmen came to mind, but I knew I was missing one other infantry type. Also the question wording made me feel it would be a unit that is easy to underestimate, so I wouldn't guess champion infantry (even champion swordsmen are a threat to buildings after all). I would guess the fire cav because they can possibly be confused with regular javelins. I see the question only spoke about their dimensional size though, not their greatness. Enough talk though, I think can do [4] now:
  17. I sure non of the players who say fanatics arent broken able to counter fatanics rush in p2. Because they rarely play. Not in the op th games and not experienced that. They just ready to stop people who try to help balancing the game. I think developers should read this post. Idk them. Maybe somebody tag them here?
  18. It means what? the fanatic don't cost enought ? how we counter this strategy? the main issue is the rush in eco no ? this unit shouldnt be so straong against no cav unit no? what people think?
  19. You can also hold the left mouse button and rotate while placing the building. EDIT: Updated instructions
  20. If it's not the settings do you have a stack trace ?
  21. During the early years it was a spear unit, dating back to the time before the Punic wars in the age of the early republic. Over time, the hastati adopted the gladius (short sword) and pila (javelins) as their main weapons, while the hasta( spear) became less common for them. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hastati Your mod is about eras?
