  2. @king reza the great, regarding the cheats you mentioned I think people don’t feel guilty about using certain mods because they don’t see them as cheats, and I believe very few players actually 'cheat knowingly' using maphacks (which I assume we can all agree are cheating) or actually hacking the game sourcecode to exploit other stuff. But one of the biggest problems is that every time this discussion comes up, it feels like we’re starting from scratch, constantly forced to redefine everything or debate overly relativistic arguments that ultimately go nowhere (difference in hardware settings, fluctuation in player performance due to outside factors?? ). The essence of fair play in any competitive setting isn’t absolute equality — which is impossible — but a shared agreement on which mods/systems/handicaps, etc are accepted in a competitive environment and which aren't. The problem in 0 A.D. is that such an agreement doesn’t exist. And the current stage of development make it impossible for hosts to technically enforce their requirements — they must rely on trust, or manually review replays to detect automation or unfair behavior. That said, those who’ve read my opinions on this topic know I have a somewhat ambiguous position — one that’s unsuccessfully tried to bridge both sides. Given how completely I’ve failed at that, I’ll just say this: I’ve also felt frustrated like you, and only by letting go of certain ambitions — which I think are nearly impossible to resolve in the game’s current state — was I able to enjoy playing again, even with people whose views on 0 A.D. I don’t share. I even feel like the overall toxicity has gone down a bit. I miss your early cav harrass gameplay. There's so much ecobots like me out there I really hope you come back to play and enjoy the game with all of us!

  4. It has been shown that 0zon is not FeldFeld, and 0zon has returned. Therefore the disappearance of Feld is completely unrelated to me. Evidence: Geriatrix thought that 0zon is FeldFeld and blames me for making Feld quit the game because 0zon disappeared for a few months. Now 0zon is back and the delusional accusations have been busted. However, we do welcome the real FeldFeld to return too. Furthermore, he had a grudge against Atrik because he thought Atrik is some yellow "deleted user" in a discord server. But after matching the chat history, it turned out that the "deleted user" whom he was picking on was no-one other than his "master" 0zon. I have nothing against neither 0zon nor Feld and I have not seen FeldFeld since the creation of this post. Case closed.
  5. I had, for about four years, then we had to move back to Israel and then COVID hit and the visa expired and we just ended up staying. Cool, I have been a bit swamped but I will be coming up for air at the end of the month and will make an effort to get this done! Will keep you posted.
  6. Because they present in all op games if i dont play with them i have to spec all time.
  7. Hi. I mean the below cheats: Progui Select box for sniping Auto start Also i 100% disagree that a27 could decrease effect of these cheats. In addition a27 itself is a broken version with broken champs.
  8. @BreakfastBurrito_007 why not stop spectating and start playing?
  9. Because it doesn't exist? It's a theory made up by Geriatrix as an excuse to insult people and a pretext to ban those he doesn't like. This also doesn't exist anymore. That was A25.
  10. Firstly, I am glad that reza-math survived the invasion against his country. Secondly, I don't know what he is talking about. I assume it's PTSD from the explosions, because his claims about the existence of cheats and his accusations against these individuals don't hold. Those who accuse Stockfish and Noobdude of cheating: can you provide just one piece of technical evidence to show that they are cheating? Could be irregularities in logs or infeasible moves in replays. @Stockfish is simply pro and the jealous haters are salty He has a life. @leopard any comments? If you still haven't realised, after 5 months, A27 has already patch up most cheats. ProGUI and ModernGUI have become incompatible and autosnipe lost to my manual micro. Reza you should read the source code and some forum topics when you have time.

  12. well, you are claiming its undisclosed and at the same time, whenever this comes up everyone seems to know who the "cheaters" are. Which one is it now? Between map randomness, fluctuation in player performance due to outside factors, hardware used, time spent playing the game before this round, there is no "fair gameplay". That the autotrainer provides any statistically significant advantage remains to be proven. well, I cant speak for everyone, but I am not. I am trying to have fun and improve.
  13. New Release Candidates are available for Patch A27.1 You will find them at https://releases.wildfiregames.com/rc/ with the -rc2- infix. New fixes (added to the top post): The Windows 7 support is fixed! A27 will be the last version supporting Windows 7, so it was a shame to have a bug in here. The engine version is updated, for better bug reports Two Unix build system fixes This should be good to go. Please test as much as possible, I am hopefully releasing this in the upcoming week (I'm thinking Wednesday 16th).
  14. Undisclosed. Players who use automation mods, and presumably map hacks (I’ve never observed someone use map hacks) do not disclose this before game start, and avoid/ignore any discussion of this. I think fair gameplay is fun gameplay so I don’t play when there is a cheater. 0ad does not need to be competitive like an esport but the game itself is a competition (we are trying to win right?) so yes it needs to be fair by default. If any player could select a 2.5% handicap without anyone knowing it would probably make the game less fun. We’ve had this discussion so many times, everything has already been said but the problem remains.
  15. @SeleucidsHey there, how are you? I see, it's just strange that I had both files, the updated one and the old version (literally 2 different files as if they were 2 different games) and was able to open these custom scenarios freely on Delenda (A26), and had no issues up until this point. The files are there (mods/user/maps/skirmishes), but the game is not recognising them fo some reason. I tried deleting A26 and repeating the editing process on new files, same thing happens.
  16. So the short answer is: There is nothing to repent. Trying to have fun when playing a video game is not a sin.
  17. If its so obvious who cheats and you have such a big problem with it, why do you play with them? Does anybody force you to play with the "cheaters"? And before you say anything, thats entirely different to as you can still play with like, 80%+ of the players who dont use anything remotely "cheaty". Also, god forbid people play a casual game in a way that brings them joy... Like, I play mainly with the historical patch cause I dont like certain imbalances in vanilla. Likewise, players that use an auto trainer probably do so because they dont like the clickyness of vanilla. I see no problem with that. 0ad has no real cheating, as cheating would be something like a "violation of competitive integrity by usage of undisclosed or unallowed modification", but there is not competitive integrity, since the game is not competitive (unless youre talking about 1v1s, which could be considered competitive, but in that case just dont play against the "cheaters"). If you want a teamgame you participate in to feel "competitive", talk to the people in the lobby, manage the players expectations until everyone agrees what this round means to them and then youll have a good time.
  18. Why Don’t Cheaters Repent? I’ve been playing 0 A.D. for several years now. In the beginning, it was incredibly engaging and enjoyable — sometimes I would play for 6 or 7 hours a day. But over time, my enthusiasm has faded. These days, I only play one to three matches at night. One of the main reasons for this decline is the rampant cheating in the game. And let’s be honest — we all know where most of these cheats originate. Some people argue over the definition of cheating, so let me offer a simple one: Cheating is when a player has something that helps them gain an advantage, which their opponent does not. Tools like ProGUI or Auto Snipe are not just personal cheats — they benefit the entire team. For example, they can automatically send resources to teammates, creating an unfair advantage. Cheaters often respond with, “If you don’t like it, stop playing,” or, “Just install the cheat yourself.” Worse still, the developers seem indifferent. They’ve taken no real action against this issue and even allow these tools to be shared openly in the forums and mod selection menus. This has driven some players away. For example, Mari quit the game. I myself have grown disheartened. Even players like Breakfast have stopped participating in many matches due to the presence of cheaters. Some people naively claim these cheats don’t really affect gameplay. But I’ve seen it with my own eyes: how players like Nubdude and Stockfish became embarrassingly weak when they stopped using cheats — even if temporarily. I also saw how Leopard and H.herle became noticeably stronger after installing cheats — though thankfully, they eventually listened to me, removed the cheats, and returned to their previous level of performance. Lastly, I want to share a personal story. Two years ago, I used a cheat — hacked Autociv. But after two months, I realized that winning through unfair means brought me no real joy. So, I stopped. I repented. So here’s my question: Why haven’t the other cheaters repented yet?
  19. You're welcome. Thankfully, when I made my first map, someone here told me to make maps pretty. I took their advice to heart.
  20. The purpose of this mod is to allow access to options, hotkeys, or the last game summary directly from the lobby without having to exit to the main screen of the game. It’s especially useful if you want to adjust some settings while waiting in a host’s gamesetup without losing your spot. Other, more robust mods like ModernGUI or boonGUI offer the same functionality, but this option is suitable for those who prefer to keep things simple and like the original lobby interface. Just unzip LobbyMenu.zip and copy paste the LobbyMenu folder into your mod's folder and you are ready to go. If you have any suggestions or If you find any bugs, please contact me and I’ll fix them ASAP. Note: The small black lines visible on the buttons are not caused by the mod. On my 4K monitor, the GUI appears very small, so I had to scale it to 200% in the settings, which causes those small black lines to appear. Here are some screenshots:
  21. Welcome to the forum I think your maps might have been lost by the update. We are currently on A27 but you talk about A26, which is the alpha before. It's possible that the engine just ignores the maps made for the older releases because of compatibility issue. If you downgrade back to A26 with Delenda Est, you should be able to find them working again. Also I don't know what is "application support folder". Normally, your custom maps are stored in your mods/user/ Alternatively, you can try to port them to A27. You might need to edit the json or js or xml files and replace all mentions of version 26 with 27. But this is risky as some entities might have been deleted in the new version.

  23. It definitely was a nightmare... to the enemies who had to do "everything else", but they were lacking the wood for that anyway, while my allies could keep spamming warships and disrupting the trade, which was the only remaining source of wood. Sure, it wasn't easy to evaluate all the various factors and come to the conclusion that doing an efficient trade was indeed the best use of the scarce APM available. Those five clicks per minute completely sucked me into a "sea-based trade with land traders" vacuum, making me unable to focus on anything else but winning the game. I think it starts showing that there is now little variety of the hosted games. People just have their one mainland build and will run if a setting change requires them to do something different. Even considering that a strategy could mean something you do when it's the right time for that, rather than something you now just do every time, becomes hard.
  24. Yeah, well, I wouldn't bother with it. I wouldn't be willing to make it a priority, so my timing with getting them on and off the ships would be anything but optimal. I do put some effort into my trading, with production and research, usually changing routes once per game when I acquired huge tracts of land, but that's about what I'm willing to do.
  25. Doing all that work alone to sling your allies in the very late game when you can't help in any other way might be alright. Doing it while you actually have to do everything else is indeed a nightmare. You need to compare the benefit of all that micro to literally any other action that you might be doing. You aren't playing in a "sea-based trade with land traders" vacuum.
  26. The repeated mention of the word nightmare in reaction to a powerful idea that I shared with you has somewhat turned me into a sarcastic mode. Imagine having to click periodically in order to acquire required resources! What's next? Having to place a new house every time you reach the pop limit? Restarting unit production at the barracks every minute? Or! Imagine having to manually pack up your catapult in order to move it to the next strategic target every time. Almost sounds like they're requiring you to control what's happening in real time. We could as well give it a funny name to that effect, something like... IDK, a "real-time strategy".
  27. The next release of 0ad won't have this requirement anymore. See https://gitea.wildfiregames.com/0ad/0ad/pulls/7742 for details.
  28. Agree. Attempting to micromanage Camels inside/outside a trading ship would be an absolute nightmare. But now I have an additional related question concerning "Diaspora". (see attached image, labeled Diaspora) I consider that technology to be a must. When you have three traders (camels) that option becomes available. Will it become available if you have three merchant ships? What about a combination, such as one merchant ship and two traders (camels)? Attached is the minimap (WaterWorld) for the game I was playing. I was playing blue. My daughter red. The yellow and green were the opposing AIs.
  29. In theory it might be, but unless there is a way to automate that, that sounds like an absolute microing nightmare.
