andy5995 Posted September 6, 2020 Report Share Posted September 6, 2020 Jammy figured out an algorithm to put teammates closer together when a random map is generated. https://github.com/andy5995/0ad-maps/tree/trunk/maps/random On Linux, these 2 files can be placed into `~/.local/share/0ad/mods/user/maps/random`. It groups players into teams and places them as vertices of polygons facing each other. You can see this placement in action on slopes and balanced hyrcanian shores. AndJam_mainland.js AndJam_mainland.json I moved this map to the Community Maps 2 mod (v0.25.4) I also submitted a patch that would add this map to vanilla 0ad. andy5995 Posted October 16, 2021 Author Report Share Posted October 16, 2021 This is now in v0.25.5 of the community maps 2 mod available on the Mainland TG and African Plains TG map (with the exception of the 'Circle' option, already provided by stock 0ad).
