Intellect
If you've ever played Age of Empires, you know that they dont have a territorial system in effect. I think by not having a territorial system, building strategy could be a lot more effective and more emphasis could be placed on using buildings as a way to advance forward. In that way, I think winning the game would be based on destroying all Civic centers and/or removing/converting the towns population.... What do yall think? Stan`
It's pretty easy to create a mod removing the territory system, from all the structures; However the aim of 0 A.D. is not just to be a free AOE clone
Intellect
Oh, ok I get it. I just got used to the AOE design and am getting back into the 0 ad mechanics.
fatherbushido
@Intellect Territory was one of the concept of that game. You can find it explained here: https://trac.wildfiregames.com/wiki/Background%3A_Territories and you will notice that's it has a bit evolved or regressed since. Also you will see here how the designers saw a game here: https://trac.wildfiregames.com/wiki/War_Story (9 years old document) Edited May 11, 2020 by fatherbushido

Hey, quick, question: I'm using Ubuntu 20.0.04 and can't find the binaries/system directory for the mod files in the game. Can you help me find it? Thanks! Loki1950
Why do you need binaries/system they are system land as a user you don't permissions to write there do mean where are the mod files if so they are in a hidden folder .local/share/0ad/mods that binaries/system is only valid for Windows users. Nescio
It shouldn't be too difficult to make a mod that removes territory from the game. Basically you have to remove all <TerritoryDecay> and <TerritoryInfluence> lines and change <BuildRestrictions/Territory> to "neutral" in all relevant simulation templates.
