Modern warfare mod

Are there any mods or ideas for modern warfare for this game? I know there's a World War I mod, but it's not finished. If anyone has ideas or wants to discuss a modern warfare mod, feel free to do so in this topic

There's a game I played a long time ago called World in Conflict, and I really liked its gameplay. Victory was determined by capturing key points on the map. If there were a modern warfare mod for 0AD, we could apply this method alongside completely destroying opponents or capturing structures. I think with long-range units like artillery and missiles, destroying opponents could be very easy if the player just spammed them.

Squads or battalions for infantry units work really well together, because combining different specializations makes more sense than having separate units, in my opinion.

Nice ICBM shot.!

Basically, it's a patchwork of lines of code, with a few value modifications. I didn't create anything, I just used available resources.

Luckily for both of your ideas, the code for Nodes and Battalions already exists, you’d just have to update.

Basically, I can't do it myself. I create these topics simply to gather or attract people with similar interests, like the topic about gunpowder, with the faint hope that if many interested people come together, there will be ideas and products, but that doesn't seem promising.

Maybe this channel could be useful for you, they explain the models they use for their other channel, Yarnhub, and describe the capabilities of each machine in quite some detail:

Thank a lot

Do you already have an idea regarding units, faction profiles, and that sort of thing?

I have ideas regarding factions and units, but nothing specific yet for buildings and technologies.

Where do you download this? Is this for r28?

I am the one who developed it.

In what historical period, as in exact years, do you want to focus?

Technically speaking, this mod focuses on the 21st century, the present day, though it prioritizes gameplay over historical accuracy or realism. The factions are fictional, albeit inspired by real world counterparts. If this mod proves successful, I plan to develop subsequent mods set in the gunpowder era. While those would be technically much simpler than this one, I would hope to incorporate historical consultation for them.

Definitely the best choice.

Hello, good work. I got attracted by 0 A.D. because of modding capabilities. I want to bring to life a project I did for a game called Rusted Warfare RTS. It is about WW2 and i think everything I need is possible in 0 A.D., without several limitations on the engine and liceses I had in the previous game. The thing is I am strugling a bit with modding, as there are not clear or complete guides nor tutorials for modding the game. I tried to ask where to start before in this forum, but responses were not very helpful... I would thank you a lot for any help.

I’m honestly not an expert developer myself and rely heavily on AI for reference, so if you have specific questions, AI can provide quick answers, alongside the advice you get from the forum, of course. This mod is still in its early stages, so I’m not sure how successful it will be.

A good starting point is to download a mod, analyze what each component does, preferably using Visual Studio Code or a similar program, understand the folder structure, the XML standards, image formats, etc.I have good news, we have a community mod started by Stan about World War II using models from another open-source game.https://github.com/0ADMods/pyrogenesis-1944

That would be a great start; download this mod, update to alpha 28, and try getting the French Civic to work, for example.

We have manuals for mods, and almost all questions have already been asked in the forum, which is a good place to do so, but if anything new comes up, feel free to ask here. Also, as mentioned above, there are now AIs are relatively good at small tasks for the average user, but I advise understanding them beforehand.
