wowgetoffyourcellphone
In my mod, it has "Cash Crops" fields that can be built in Empire phase. In Delenda Est, you get Coin from them (to train mercenaries, which are a big part of the mod), but in the base game (Empires Ascendant) it can just be abstracted to Metal. nifa
Athenian olive mill/press @Thorfinn the Shallow Minded @wowgetoffyourcellphone@real_tabasco_sauce and whoever is interested, mod file is attached, let me know what you think At the corner I tried to stack a three spart_path decals on top of the dirt decal, but sometimes they are hidden by the dirt decal. Is there a way to define priority of the decals in the actor file? olive_mill.zip 6

For the little entrance with the wooden beams you might have to adjust it so it looks believably high.
Outis
I love such civilian buildings. They truly enhance the experience.
nifa Posted Sunday at 00:05 Share Posted Sunday at 00:05 This needs a custom decal and a new ao without the plants. It's a little dark inside so I'll try to bake it without the roof. Would you make a pull request then@wowgetoffyourcellphone? On 24/11/2025 at 10:42 AM, Stan` said: I would add some details on the back, column cracks, maybe some more ivy to make it less clean. I can add details to the back but I'm afraid it might look overcrowded.
wowgetoffyourcellphone Posted Sunday at 05:12 Share Posted Sunday at 05:12 I do think it looks proportionally small compared to that farmstead. A person definitely have to duck to pass through the arch or to stand under the backside awning. With 0ad buildings, the first floor should look about 90% the correct height next to a civilian, while 2nd floors are only something like 60-70% height accurate. That's the "0ad proportions." Stan` Posted Sunday at 09:17 Share Posted Sunday at 09:17 Nah that's actually pretty common in games to have a smaller second floor. Something we don't depict though is buildings usually had small doors because they kept the heat better that way.

Ok, I will make it a bit bigger. I think what makes the proportions odd is that I have just one floor/story, but with two levels of elevated ground. The wooden floor were the presses are placed is a little higher than the stone floor. That's why I need the ramp in front of the door. Then there are the two roofes with different elevation. As a result the bigger wing has a height of something in between a one-story-building and a two-story-building. I will figure out a way to fix it. But I don't want to loose the general layout, because it's kind of unique. Different from most of the other buildings, the olive presses are the main part and should somehow be in the middle. So it's not a closed building with props around it, but rather an "open" building with the main props right in the center.
nifa
@wowgetoffyourcellphone @Stan` Changed the layout a little bit. Mod file is attached, please test and let me know what you think? :) 765954859_olive_mill(2).zip
wowgetoffyourcellphone
Nice. I like the real windows. I also like the hanging winch.
nifa
If I make a custom decal it could be looking something like this: (using the decal from the spartan barracks and a pine tree decal)
wowgetoffyourcellphone
Nice, I approve.
nifa
Maybe even without the lower roof? I could even give them an animation so the presses go up and down all the time
wowgetoffyourcellphone
Perhaps variations with or without the 2nd roof? Animations sound very nice too. Don't forget to use the parallax material for those actors with _struct textures (see the rooftiles, for instance).

Thanks! Athenian storehouse and forge also have both roofs combined, but I could check out how it looks with the just one kind of roof.
