  1. I'm with ac892006 here, it'd be too much work for nothing otherwise.
  2. Yes, Tolkien's world is a complete world. It would be unrealistic, so to speak, to have all those bull looking orcs and trollocs and stuff. I have many of Tolkien's works, excluding Christopher Tolkien's History...I need to get my hands on that somehow. Bookshops in India have no love for Tolkien, I had to hunt for most of them and finally order some. I've got the Millennium edition of LOTR, Unfinished Tales, Children of Hurin, the Hobbit and some non-LOTR related works, like Roverandom and Tales from the Perilous Realm For Elven architecture, I was thinking a cross between Gothic, Norse and Chinese architectural styles: Especially the curved roofs of the Chinese:
  3. Sorry to go off topic, but you wouldn't be Daniel Santos from the Glest forums, would you?
  4. That would be quite inaccurate: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Siege_of_Angband although it doesn't specify any siege units, it would be hard to hold a siege without them. In any case, without siege units the elves would be at a disadvantage. It may work, but it'll require more thinking.
  5. I'm afraid the movie is in my head a lot I will draw up some concepts later and try to stay away from the imagery from the movie. I did draw some, kinda misplaced them. My aim would be to re-create the Noldor Elves after the crossing. So a Feanor hero unit would be present and also Galadriel and the all rest. My main problem is siege units. In a mod I made for Glest, the only siege units the elves had were the Ents. I believe that's inaccurate and so we'd need to brain storm some ideas for siege. I think a ballista and a ram would suffice. I just bought a copy of the Silmarillion, I will read it again and see what I find after I finish the book I'm on.
  6. Indeed! I totally despise the Warcraft type fantasy. What I would like would a game that conveys the feeling of Arda, the very atmosphere of it. I found it there in BME but it clearly wasn't wholly present. If someone's gonna do a Arda mod, let them do TLA, that's what I say. What do you'll say about the current buildings? Too much like the movie?
  7. The ship is an easter egg Just type noldor or bireme in the search filter and u'll find it Yes, I was very disappointed myself. I'm really serious about a full TC mod, it would take a lot of work and good leadership which I very much lack at the moment. I would like to do the Elves though as a mod for 0AD, whilst there are a lot of great things in store for TLA which I don't think would be possible without a lot of additional features to Pyrogenesis, I believe a simple Elf mod would be considerably easy for me to do. If my work is any good, it can be used for TLA I love the books more than the movies, so yes, it shall be on the books and now that you say it, I would use the TLA concepts for the elves, thanks
  8. Well actually the file locations are pretty straight forward. If you want to edit an entity, you go to simulation/templates/fauna/lion (or something like that)
  9. I wouldn't mind modelling the Second Temple when I have the time
  10. Indeed! Just had two elephants pwn my base and I didn't even know it! We need attack notifications!
  11. Its the same side ribbon, but not too similar, although when my brother saw it he said 'Hey, its like Anno!' but that's 'cause I asked him to notice the new menu Now, i'm gonna play 1404, excuse me
  12. Anno 2070! AWESOME! I noticed some that you were an Anno fan, Pureon, especially after your mock up of the main menu
  13. Oh, yeah, i forgot about that Sorry. Maybe if u put the artist name it wouldn't look like a stranger is commenting I'll post the answer here next time
  14. Carthaginian Trireme loves only other Triremes. And its maker
  15. They used it to reinforce the sails, as most sails probably weren't made out of one full sheet of cloth Bireme, maybe not. Getting ready for the Carths atm
  16. What say you!? I've included three variations of the eyes
  17. Don't worry, you'll see all that done soon. I was a bit busy today, or it would've been done by now Expect a new screenshot in a few days
  18. Well, if we make it any smaller it'll be almost as small as the Merchant Ship The texture fits quite well, i think. Compare it with the Greek Merchant Ship, and you'll see. This is mostly based on the Olympias. The old one really looked like something outta AOEO, IMHO I'd say the old one was inconsistent with the current style of the ships. Maybe Michael will expound more on the subject, as my limited knowledge may be flawed EDIT Oh, yeah. The mast needs to be thicker Our observant artist Pureon noticed that a while ago
  19. Really stupid. I got bored within the first 2 hours.
  20. Its because its static it looks so bad, but once the capes are animated they'll look much better
