  1. The old alphas actually had better sound effect than A26, which is too quiet. If we can restore the old sound then that would be great. (especially A23)
  2. It's possible to edit singleplayer replay files into a the format of a multiplayer replay and trick localratings into believing that it was multiplayer.
  3. What kind of analysis are you looking for? Kill count? KD ratio? Eco? Yes, this will also reduce OOS and make OOS easier to debug. However, it does increase the amount of information being transferred across network and processing demands, which means more lag.
  4. In this footage, the missile was aimed almost vertically but quickly gained a horizontal component of velocity, causing its final direction to be somewhat parallel to the ground. This was because of short launch rack and the slight deviation off the vertical gave it a significant horizontal component of speed. Its direction of thrust is parallel to its main axis. These Russian missiles are following the trajectory I described: However, the traditional Katyusha has gained a significant initial velocity and momentum in its launch direction, so the acceleration due to gravity or thrust in the vertical direction is no longer significant.
  5. Yes, viscous force. There is also sheer pressure. However, I believe that drag forces should be significantly smaller than the thrust forces. In order to not over-complicate the differential equations, I only kept the dominating terms. On second thought, the rocket can exhibit a translational motion as well. It should be placed in a launch tube or a rack before firing, using the rack as a guide to gain some initial velocity. The momentum built up inside the rack should be able to prevent it rotating. The thrust would not always be constant; for solid fuels, the thrust is a programmable function of time as you can change the shape of the fuel surface. Thrush is directly proportional to surface area of fuel exposed to air.

  10. I set the maximum batch size to 3.27 and it works perfectly. I think it would be perfect if you can make the slider only accept discrete integers.
  11. I see, I didn't adjust the relevant settings. However, instead of continuous sliders, can you make the batch size settings input fields? Right now the sliders allow me to input values like "2.49 units" which doesn't make sense.
  12. Hi Atrik, I have tested the mod and I see that it keeps the autotrain button pressed, but is unable to queue in the next batch automatically even after we have gathered enough resources. Can you make it such that it maintains the same batch size, waits for enough resources to be gathered (while keeping the future units blue), then start training the next batch after enough resources have been gathered? The prevents us from having to click again in the barracks. Thanks. It would be even better if it automatically decreases to the biggest batch size the player can afford if there is not enough resources for the original batch size. For example I would like to train women three by three: if I only have 120 food now, can it automatically decrease the batch size down to 2 and keep training two by two from now on? Currently the mod the flashes and stops the queue.
  13. Air resistance forces acting on the rocket should be a mixture of linear terms (due to friction between the side of the rocket casing and the air) and quadratic terms (due to displacing air in front of it). Also there is the Coanda effect.

  15. Regarding the tower fight: 1. Just draw the blue range circle at the tower's actual maximum range, whether it's 60 or 73m. On bumpy terrains I would expect the maximum range to be different in each direction, and it would be great if we can visualise it, so that we know exactly where our units shouldn't go. 2. in the GUI, just say: the range of this tower is 70m. Yes, an archer can shoot 60m but the height of the tower adds an additional 10m. But this reasoning can be left behind in the dev process. The actual interface can just abstract it to a simple number: 70m.

  18. I recommend just make units talk in English instead of some dead old language. İt's a lot easier for everyone and players can know what their units are saying without having to learn another bunch of words. You can even translate the words into other languages and synthesise the voice there, like how Google translate does it.
  19. I don't think so. I am not even sure who is Helicity, whether they are some other smurf or a genuine new player. The first time I saw him play, he was already like 1300 (not cosmic) and dominating noobs. Then a few months later he was smashing me in 1v1s. Nice progress
  20. @Helicitya Your points 1 through 5 are correct based on my 3 or 4 years of experience with 0ad. But you have only revealed the tip of an iceberg and there are many more errors in his list. Alas, he doesn't care. İdk who is Hilal but it's a Turkish girl name, meaning "Cresent " The dude claims that Ricsand is Acero İf you ask anyone who has been playing since A24 or A25... Don't even need to explain... İt just shows that Goat is a total clown.
  21. Congrats @Norse_Harold The core of the problem is not Goat, but rather some people who have are obssessed with finding smurfs. GOAT cannot possibly come up with that list all by himself. Even you as a moderator cannot be certain about who's who. So, why is GOAT flagrantly posting false accusations? Obviously he has fans - the people who take pleasure in staring at this list, thinking that they have caught all of the smurfs. Somehow even false accusations will please them. İt is the same people who would submit reports to GOAT, then gladly see the new player who has spanked them in a game being put into the list with some old smurf. Somehow this makes the feel better after being smashed, as now they can convince themselves that it wasn't their lack of skills and progress but rather some OP player smurfing on them. The list exists to please these smurf persecutors at the expense of causing chaos, more imbalance and personal attacks. Furthermore, @Norse_Harold I hope you have realised that Goat isn't doing this for the compliance of lobby TOS, but to entertain his supporters and troll whoever he victimises. He has ZERO respect for facts and anyone who points out his mistakes. Some entries are so blatantly preposterous that any technical methods like IP tracking would have invalidated them instantly. He's just a clown to entertain certain individuals who are obsessed with persecuting smurfs. @Helicity do not attempt to dispute with goat. As soon as you point out his errors, his loyal smurf persecuters will put confused reactions on your post. Goat will never take your comments seriously, instead, he will send you a banana emoji. I'm also expecting the smurf persecutors (who think they are righteous) to put confused reactions on this post as well
  22. I remember proposing this about 2 years ago and I was laughed at. Now it's your turn. Cubes and cylinders reduce CPU load and also abstracts the resources so that human players can react to the quicker. You can also easily see the distribution instead of being covered up by canopy.
  23. Dispute list: 1. I am not the same person/ people as the ones using accounts in the list "Yekaterina". I have played with her in quite a few TGs and four 1v1s with her as well. 2. I think Aceroxidado (who is the Acero on the list) is not Ricsand1655. They are quite different and I have seen the two of them playing in two separate games before. 3. I doubt that NoobDude is Piplox as I have seen both of them active and playing at the same time; Piplox is significantly weaker than NoobDude. NoobDude is also unlikely to be Thankforpie because Noobdude said that he started playing in Alpha 24, but Thankforpie seemed to have only been active in early Alpha 23 videos on YouTube. 4. M.T. is definitely not Nizam_i_cedid. Nizam is much stronger than M.T. Nizam is also a TG player whereas M.T. enjoys 1v1 games more. 5. Wendy is most likely not DaddyCooL. Both are Israeli but the playstyle and chat style seem quite different. This is especially evident in their response to DoctorOrgans: Wendy argues with DoctorOrgans whereas DaddyCooL is more dismissive and does not take him seriously. DaddyCooL also refused all 1v1 invitations from Organs whereas Wendy would start arguing with him. 6. Hilal is not berhudar, as Hilal was not stronger than me the last time I saw them ( a few months ago), whereas berhudar had always been the strongest player I have ever seen. Unknown_player is also not berhudar, because berhudar was still a relatively noob player in June 2020: see video (https://youtu.be/kuj2rkujatM), whereas Unknown_player had been a recognised pro player much earlier in December 2019, see video (https://youtu.be/WDTTd4iZa5I).
