    "I am always here."

Ah, Battle Realms.  Probably not, but it's what jumped to mind, really.

I vaguely wonder, however, how the missions themselves will play out.  I suppose we can worry about that when the time comes to actually make them and the campaign.  Which is probably years away.

Ah yes the glorious Battle Realms

    Gaia animals AI improvement

currently when a unit attack to a Gaia wild animal, Elephant for example then Elephant start to follow all over the map till one of them die (they have very good GPS and tracking system :D ) ... and they skip any other unit who attack them/under way after first attack ...

    Suggestion:

1- Wild animals not following all over the map , and they follow attacker only for a range , their territory

2- They attack to nearest unit (any unit from any civ) not only the one who attack them (Basically any unit  near to them )\

3- Wild animal speed increase when they rage and start to attack , when a lions/elephants etc get angry and start to attack they dont walk with coquetry :)

4- if possible , when there is a group (herd/flock) of lions or Elephant and when a player attack them then all of them got rage and start to attack and not only one of them

I totally agree, shame I can think of the countless villagers that will get mauled to death because of a charging wild animal, like aoe2.

@Rolf Dew I don't like extreme micro, I'm really bad at it. But I like to engage the enemy early and continuously on in MP matches. Playing relaxed is not suitable for MP IMO, it allows the enemy to gain control of the entire map.

You are right, one has to be agressive to have the upper hand. That is exactly why I prefer single player over multiplayer

  4. @stanislas69 wow,I really loved settlers 5 also, the gameplay, the detail and even the storyline! I loved that one could build such an amazing town and also that there was fairly good combat too! I would personally love to see a battalion system similiar to that game in 0 AD (even as a mod). In my opinion the later settlers had nice town aspects but horrible combat :)

For games like 0 ad my personal preference is more of a relaxed, build right to the last  age kind of gameplay. For rushing and extreme micro, I love games like battle realms! Battle realms was a great quick game with in depth micro and abilities

If you like rushing and more interesting micro, then I would highly recommend battle realms, I think you can get it on gog.

Don't forget hair, 19th century West-African military culture, paganism, the phenotypes of South Africa and AOM.

If there's anything you feel like sharing about yourself, or some other cool thing you have in mind, I'd say go for it! :)

(as long as we only go off-topic in one dead thread at a time, I think it should be ok :1eye:).

Check out this tiny Alaskan Tyrannosaurid, called the Nanuqsaurus (A) (for comparison, B is Tyrannosaurus Rex):

Isn't it cute? Kind of like a morbidly obese Deinonychus without the the murderous claw. The Flintstones' equivalent of an overweight Rottweiler. "Who's a good boy? Who's a good boooy? Who's a good b-... AAARGH, IT JUST ATE MY ARM! DAMMIT"

    Haha

  7. If I may ask, once the game is in beta phase and it moves to steam, will you still put a non steam version your website for those without steam? Because some people do not like steam or buy from elsewhere. Battle for Wesnoth has both a steam version and non steam version.

Perhaps this should be a question,

" Does this game have mods?

Yes, the game has a built in mod downloader and installer, there are several active mods at the moment, the game is built with easy modding in mind. "

  8. @Astrid Good to hear that AOM is well liked :) .  Exactly, people act like you are crazy if you suggest that giants could of lived in the past and today, also I believe dragons were dinosaurs, I also don't believe in evolution, so some people act like you are stupid are you believe something different. Age of Empires 3, one of my favorite games as a teenager, indeed, I love colonial history, it reminds me of South Africa's  history. I will definitely try expeditions conquistadors and expeditions Vikings, it sounds interesting.

Sad to hear that, the Irish guy's mum was so closed minded, although it is great that you married the guy of your dreams instead lol.

True the pony mod is adorable, indeed baby animals are so cute, one of my cat's is a minature cat and is still the size of a kitten, even though she is 7 years old, she is so cute!

Have you tried the "Hyrule Conquest" mod for 0 ad? I wasn't even a Zelda fan before but that mod is amazing!

  9. @Astrid true, one should think of other people and help where we can. Yeah everybody has something they are great in or love, I had a feeling you would like AOM, it is an amazing game. Haha yeah the Northern Ireland accent is great, very manly\rough. True, some aspects of AOM, like giants, dragons and some other things are not fantasy things, but stuff that have existed at some point in the past. A fair amount of mythology is based on real events, for example the sacking of Troy was proven to have been a real historical event, who knows what else really happened but are considered as just myths today.

  10. @Astrid it's nice to hear that your family and country worked to get where they are now!  Yeah I cannot imagine life without God, it would feel empty for me :) . I highly recommend Age of Mythology, it is similiar to 0 AD and age of empires, but with Greek, Egyptian, Norse and Atlantean mythological units in addition to regular soldiers, also a deity system with deity powers! It has a nice campaign too. That's a great game list btw :) . Exactly different accents are very interesting!

  11. My first name is Caleb, my second one is Raoul ( french verison of Ralph/Rolf) .

We are like fourth or fifth generation South African, I believe our family has been in South Africa for over 100 years.

We are completely westernized in terms of culture, leaning more towards English culture than Afrikaans culture.

We are Christians, very conservative and we belong to a rather conservative church, that is why we know a fair amount of conservative Germans.
