i'll have to try a basic formation if circle shape is accepted by the formation component, if its possible then this will have the same as orbis, but just specifying wich units will be in the center and leave the swordsman/spearman make the orbis.

i need some help about the colours, i don't know what colours fits best to the references/game/other helmets i don't know if i'm going too much for realistic colours and leaving behind the game touch

things that should be added to formations: Disable movement or some function to switch the unit state from aggresive/defensive or any other stance to Hold position. Circle shape if ins't added. Keep the formation shape until the first row attack.

i'll try to keep the alpha visible from a playable zoom haven't tested yet ingame while i'll try to get the properly helmet colour also there could be an iron variant of texture ?

is for the variants, for now it has this, if that isn't the variant wanted then i'l leave it as it is, but this is just a plane

if the hair is big, it crash about 50% rendering and pc overheat but the feathers didn't take more than a minute.

speaking of materials, theres also something i used before for make basic normal maps, it won't give perfect results but at least ir works for a basic texture for rendering. on gimp theres a script i added long time ago for make normal maps i'm not sure if this was posted here before but it worth using sometimes.

if feathers/hair can be black or white only and not player colour, it could be done like this and use basic_trans_parallax_spec as material, rendered on a basic plane low poly

hair can't be rendered on my pc so i wil go for the same method stan used on the last helmet committ, make the player colours, crest's, feathers and any kind of hair look like meshes another mesh apart using the textures already done

i found in blendernation one addon free with 15 custom brushes for rock's so they work perfectly for helmets, leather, etc. Link https://www.blendernation.com/2017/08/26/free-download-18-rock-brushes/

if its still needed i could import the slinger animations with props and textures if he has blender, so it would be more easy to see the exactly seconds, and pause the animation too.

The caps are there since that time you told me about the caps and others OS they will be changed, for the spearman i guess the anti cavalry formation wouldn't harm isnt it? Circle formations are possibly? the document says rectangle, square, triangle but dind't saw circle if the formation allow use the space between each row i would delete the 45 degrees but whitout it the space between him and the others 2 is big enough to make harm so the formation will look strange

i wonder the same but the "toys" show a floating shield if looked from back while the photos shows only from the front plane, for now this is what i have done, the guys on the middle always lack of weapon and hold the shield with 2 hands so the formation is indeed just for defense and not for attack as the anti cavalry formation 16 48 More 48+ here don't remain at idle, maybe i pasted the code wrong,
