The instructions are for my Linux system. I don't know what the Windows counterpart of that is.

Haha yeah. He told me that it's from Imperium 2.

Nailed it. I prefer decent tutorials over lowering the default AI strength. They are quite scarce. And the team needs a muscle for this kind of task.
-
Unless the player resigns mid-game, I don't know how that happens.

Melee cavs have an added usefulness in Regicide mode. They can hunt down, chase, and harass low-health Heroes. (Assuming that the hero isn't a cavarly/chariot unit as well)

===[TASK]=== Differentiating Britons and Gauls
sphyrth replied to Mythos_Ruler's topic in Official tasks
And here I thought you guys already did a successful job at this task. Then break boundaries. I hope someone can do this for the Greek factions. The columns and the shield logos are too small of a detail for me to look. I'm still dependent on looking at their Civic Centers. -
I'm no AoE player, but I've seen enough videos to see that this guy is using old-school AoE habits. I'm not sure about the soundtrack that he used, though. But I'm assuming that it's also AoE.

^ lol at that game. The two highest-rated players were sooo putting on the pressure, and it is they who get to fall first. I happened to be looking at the heroes when they were killed, so I know who beat them and how they got beaten.

Okay, so I've said that Petra is too strong for beginners. And this video proves it. A player who does relatively random things just can't win at this game. HOWEVER I'm not going to pander too much on it since: Her video is entertaining as is. Her "noob-ness" is actually to that advantage. She's using Alpha 20. I believe that Petra's difficulty settings are better tuned on 21.

Haha. I guess they can be good placeholders for the Carthaginians. Though I'm curious how the ancient Mauryans and the Celtics actually sounded like.

Same problem here. The game doesn't trap the cursor in its Window. I just forced myself to learn to play with the WASD keys (I need the Q and E Rotation keys, so I don't play with the arrow keys).

Muffled Voice - I'm not sure if that meant that unit voices can't be heard clearly or that they aren't just understandable because of the language. Units Can't be Distinguished - This maybe true for the military units, and has room for improvement. For now, I can see the effort since there are distinct man, woman, elephant, and siege engine response sounds. You Don't Know What You Commanded Based on the Response - Well, this is the language barrier. Even I have to search what "Ti esti" and "Pros polemon" mean. I guess you can't please everybody with this feature. I took for granted the lack of people working on voicing and scripting, but I have to admit that the commenter is on to something. But I disagree with him if he wants the default voicing should be in English only (which is the only way he can know what kind of unit he selected, and what he commanded it to do). I would like to hear people spouting out more than just Roman and Greek phrases.

So here's what I did: Start a game and made all my units to build 1 house. Saved the game and exited it. (At this point, I have 1 Replay, and 1 Saved Game) Now, I loaded the Saved Game. Made another house and then Exited the Game. (Now this produces another Replay) The new replay treated this as a whole new game and only displays me building only one house and as if I didn't build anything before that. I don't play svn, so I don't know if this was patched already.

I'm starting to like this thread. When I'm not in the mood playing, I'll just grab one of these watch some replays. Either for learning, or just plain 'popcorn entertainment'. It might also be great if a youtuber picked a replay to commentate on it (thinking of Anavultus for example - he's on the verge of giving up on his 0 A.D. Series completely).

Wha?! And to think I did say to myself "Is it either a prepubescent male, or a plain ol' girl?" at one point. I have to rewatch her videos with that in mind.

Pronouncing it like "ode" the first time he read it, commenting about the women's short skirts, saying that the Spartan shield looks like a bottlecap, etc. This guy makes me want to become a child again. BTW, @ValihrAnt, welcome to the group. I've been your subscriber even before you did your screencasting. Keep it up!

@echotangoecho and @fcxSanya I just did a quick check: 'hyper-threading / multi-core supported = true'

Eh, too much for my little mind can handle at this point. Sorry to trouble you this far only to get my limitations in the way. I'm planning on doing a flat install when Mint 18.1 comes out. I'll see if this issue comes up again. Until then, thanks for all the help!

IMO Petra has matured enough to be a feisty player... I don't even know if I want to play him above Normal. Either that or I'm new to his new tactics, namely: Ignoring my defenses, and raiding my base's weakest points. Better battle micromanagement skills. (For example: He used part of his army to attack one side of my base, another part against my working units, and build his CC just in my frontlines all at the same time... I mean that's some risky/exciting player!) Great attack/defense coordination with allies... his diplomacy skills is my cherry on top. Makes me feel ashamed when I fail to help them when they're in danger. Other things that make the gameplay exciting. But this might be too overwhelming for a new player. I should know. I remember rage-quitting when I first tried this game (Alpha 16) and got consistently *beaten simply because of my strength differences with the AI. I suggest lowering the AI's default difficulty for new installs.

Out of my unit - I'll try to post the result tomorrow. In any case, I'm getting more convinced that this is caused by what I did to my system, and not the game's fault.

It won't let me type anything in the Terminal until I close the Crash Window (By Suspending/Breaking/Continuing).
-
I think I need to know what step I'm doing wrong. Here's what I did: Run Terminal Type 'gdb pyrogenesis' Then typed 'run' Crash happens Is this where I'm supposed to type 'bt' in the gdb terminal? I don't think so. Since the value of 'userreport.enabledversion' is already '0', I didn't have to modify anything. I'm using Noveau. Could that be another factor?
