  1. Make moar! It would be interesting to watch a Macedonian versus Mauryan sea battle once the Mauryan war ships finish.
  2. I was thinking the other way around. A Carthaginian special ability would be to train allied troops by building a Carthaginian embassy within an ally's territory.
  3. What about certain maps that is a large to huge size, but must be played by a 2-4 players?
  4. I like the Macedonian Pikemen, the Roman Legionaries, Greek Hoplites, and the Athenian Marines. I've yet to see what the Ptolemics have.
  5. Nope. No you don't. My suggestion is that it would be more interesting if you have to do more in order to access certain units. An example would be not to only have a fortress in order to create a champion unit, but you have to have thirty houses in order to do so. If you lose the houses, then you can not create those certain units. That way it helps promote the importance of keeping a running, healthy, and protected town. Enrique is arguing that he doesn't want to do more in order to access those certain units besides upgrading them by techs, because he would be afraid of not having the time to build the elite troops in order to counter his opponents. My counter argument is that it would make more sense to do more in order to create a certain kind of units, by performing a certain number of combinations of requirements. Like for instance, as a Athenian player you want to build the marines. You have to build a dock, then create a ship that creates the marines. Then buy the technology on the ship to create those marine troops.
  6. That was a pretty cool tug-of-war of territory displayed. Though through my experience of Age of Kings, I don't ever place my buildings close to a water edge, because the enemy would bombard. EDIT: All of those Gaul houses were easy pickings too.
  7. The blades on the oar look tiny? Aren't they usually bigger?
  8. Thank you pureon! Im just wondering how a Macedonian player gets his units killed off by Gaul horsemen?
  9. You can always visit a local synagogue for hebrew translation?
  10. Wait, you do have attacking sounds for siege engines?
  11. Aaahh dam you. Lol I was trying to scour my local library for ancient Indian boats, but they only talked about Egypt and other western cultures.
  12. I think you should research the kind of sails they use before you turn it into a 18th century sloop.
  13. It looks great! I'm no real expert on boats except for the few odd jobs of cleaning and painting. I think you still got the oars in the back that needs adding.
  14. I can not find other threads for sound, so I replied to this one. I mean sounds in general, like we are still missing sound for the siege engines.
  15. I can understand your point. Though it seems a bit exaggerated. It is only a suggestion to promote the interest into creating a more interesting economy. Now that I think about it, the Athenian marines require a number of certain steps before they are created. Why not do the same with champions and other elite units?
  16. "The Hellenes were a people famous today for their architecture, fighting ability, and culture." They say that for every civilization in every book I read.
  17. Lion, your emblems look really good! I compliment on your efforts!
  18. True, but people eventually learn how to access certain things for each civilization, and be quick about it. The tooltips doesn't need to be that large in order to display the requirements too? There are RTS games out there that gives access to certain things by more than just to research a technology. Just an idea to throw out. EDIT: You should have plenty of time to look at pieces of information while building up your economy. 0 A.D. has a slower economy build-up than Age of Empires, there is time.
  19. Has anybody done anything to contribute to sounds yet? Sound too plays an important part in making the game fun and memorable. I need ear candy.
  20. What if in order to access certain buildings, techs, and military units weren't always through the research of techs like the town phases, but instead through achieving certain deeds, and other achievements? For example, a player can build an Elephant Stable, but can not build elephant units, unless that players has three food storage buildings. Elite units could not be built unless a player has thirty houses, and the certain technology to build those flavor of units. The same could go for heroes. You must kill ten enemy units with Philip II, in order to access Alexander the Great for the Macedonians. Each next hero would be more powerful than the previous. I'm still waiting for the Wilhelm scream to happen in 0 A.D. Haha
  21. I like it a lot! Do the amount of cloth on their head represent rank?
  22. That is a nice feature to have, as I always played 30 minutes no rush in AoE3. Though I prefer if there was a way to easily counter rushing players in the first ten minutes of the game. I like to be crushed by an invading army, not by a handful of tribesmen.
  23. Can anybody do a kind offer and create some hardcore multiplayer videos? I'm getting bored of watching noobs play.
  24. I like a strong defense in the beginning of the game. That just helps rid people's ability to kill off a player by sending 10 civilian soldiers the first five minutes of the game. I think a strong defense is necessary in the beginning of the game, and a powerful siege engine for each civilization in the later. I can not enjoy games when a player is able to rush you. For example, the Russians in AoE3 were able to produce military units in the start, and rush a player before he could establish any units of his own.
