  1. Nerfing the farms a little at least on the early game would make herding/hunting more attractive, which I think it's a good thing
  2. That yellowish wood pattern is off scale at the moment (the pattern is shown better in other buildings) and it is taken from the same show you quoted. take a look
  3. haha I thought on the rebel faction also xD Here's the last update before working on shields/weapons & other props for Mauryans. They'll be useful to use as decoration in military buildings and final details. If anyone has any objections regarding the colors it's time to complain before calling the texture finished ^^
  4. Thanks lilstewie! I'll make some more shapes following those references EDIT: Anyone read anything about the materials used to make the shields? I'd like to know if those "stars" on the shields were painted decorations or has something to do with the actual structure of the shield.
  5. Jaja, mira que es grande el mundo para encontrarme en este foro alguien de Zaragoza! felices fiestas memmaker! ^^
  6. That image is a blender render. I'll use that to make the shield texture, it'll give the texture some shadows and fake volume. But yeah, I always use Gimp, the textures used are done with it
  7. Thanks for your suggestions lilstewie I've made the changes. There are no shields for Mauryans yet so I'm giving a try. I found some shield patterns and shapes on the civilization thread, is there any other historical information/references regarding their patterns/symbols/materials?
Motivar a más gente que hable Español a contribuir al desarrollo de 0 A.D. nos beneficia English: As said before on the thread, translating duties will be needed when the game hits Beta. On the other hand, I think it's useful to translate documents about how to report an error/bug or how to import 3D models into the game. Motivate non-english speakers to contribute 0 A.D's development is beneficial for us
  9. You can use Blender3D (open source) to import the DAE models and create a simple material with the textures as colors. When you render, it's very easy to use the background as alpha channel on the final inage, sharp results. There is very good video-tuts on the net about blender for starters if you are interested.
  10. Any known textil pattern or decoration used by Mauryans?
  11. Just to let you know I still working on mauryans from time to time between rubbles ^^
  12. I like the capturing buildings thing I think first Idea is better: You would be able to toggle between destruct/capture holding ctrl-key like garrisoning One/two click maximum, easy. With the second idea: - You have to "deselect" your army, select the building, "tag as captured", select your army again, click to capture. -If you change your mind about destroying/capturing something you have to "untag" every building you tagged before.
  13. Hey Allen how is it going? Do you want some help with the texture? You can pack it as .dae in a zip and add the additional textures if you used any to get the altar ingame and see how it looks
  14. Bored today at work I made some more rubble for different structure sizes: CC, short/med/long/tower wall, and house rubbles. Destruct decals not included. You can still making more rubble sizes/variations of course (*Note: AO looks darker in blender than it looks in-game) Some screens: I attach the zip with their daes, texture and 512 AO textures. Please someone get them into the game. Thanks rubble.zip
  15. Nice Idea! I like it. I'll make a big arch and search for a texture similar to that doors and add those spikes. Thanks guys!
  16. As promised, the .blend file with props. I attach an image with the layers organization. If you have some knowledge in blender, Help us making rubbles!! rubble_props.zip
  17. You are right! nice catch! I didn't think on that. I'll make the changes on the front door
  18. Taking a break from Mauryan structures to have fun destroying things... ^^ Maybe too messy? xD Posting soon .blend file with props + texture for the community to make their own rubble for different sizes/variations:
  19. I personally think that rubble should not have obstruction boxes. For example, you have just destroyed a portion of a wall, and you want to move your troops into the enemy base, but you'll have to wait 10 seconds until the rubble is gone... that doesn't sound funny
  20. I've been really busy this days, but here's new update. Another fortress sketch attempt. I'm not really sure if the starting layout I thought is working, so maybe it's time to start drawing some sketches before modelling. I'm not an awesome drawer but I think I'll save time and work this way. (render with AO) Anyway I think it's time to focus on the texture instead of designing... ^^
  21. The thread where I originally posted the idea was about adding more props or changing the buildings appearance when upgrading the phase, so that information would be received by the enemy if he has any of your buildings on sight, just like this idea, but I thought it might be easier to implement with border lines. In AOK series you even received a message with a sound when other players reached next phase. I'm not saying we must to do the same, but I thought it could be interesting and I wanted to know other thoughts.
  22. I wrote in other thread some time ago the idea to change the territory border style depending on the current city-phase the player is. I think it's a good way to have visual feedback about which phase each player is. Something like discontinuous line in first phase, normal line in town phase and double line in city phase. I don't know how difficult might be to implement for programmers. What do you think about it?
  23. Nope, I didn't abandon it. I've just started working on Mauryan structures and I didn't have much time since. Although I think flying birds will have to wait. I'm glad you like it guys
  24. Sure thing, I'll add imperfections to the textures and props/pretty things to the buildings. But for now I just wanted to have a bunch of structures or sketches to check if I need more colors/textures and if they feel "mauryan" enough placed together That's why I'm posting so often, I want to be sure the architecture style fits and I'm not going off bounds when designing the structure. Thanks for your feedback btw guys
