https://www.mexicodesconocido.com.mx/los-reyes-zapotecos-y-sus-conquistas.html To go to war, a warrior wore his dress clothes: mask that, according to his rank, could be of jaguar, of death or simple facial painting with the colors of the night and of the death and the blinkers of Cocijo; loincloth with skirt, cape, leather sandals. He used his macana or an arrow with darts, bow and arrows or flint knives; a large shield made of a frame of vines ornamented with feathers, as well as padded cotton armor for his defense and bells on his heels to make his presence felt. All their attire was both beautiful and fierce. All campaigns were accompanied by certain images of the gods to guide them to the places where they could attack the enemy by surprise. ####### The Sky people

The Zapotecs believed that their rulers were descended from the gods, which is why they called themselves people of the sky. It was a theocracy where generally Cosijo was the most common name for a king since it was the name of a God as well. Precisely the classical period, Cocijo was related to the jaguar https://es.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pitao_Cocijo

you need something like a psychological technology, I will tell you what it is... I think it would look good on the Jaguar warrior. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nagual specifically their elite warriors absorbed the animal spirit by which they were born. This animal spirit was determined by the animal day what were they born. The source say: "In Mesoamerican folk religion, a nagual (pronounced [na'wal]) is a human being who has the power to shapeshift into a jaguar form. A widespread superstition holds that Naguals must make a pact with the devil as well as make him an offering.[1]" Mesoamerican belief in tonalism, wherein every person has an animal counterpart to which his life force is linked, is drawn upon by Nagualism.[2][3] The nagual trait is acquired at birth, along with other characteristics associated with a person's birth day. Each day is associated with an animal that has strong and weak aspects. A person born on "Dog Day" would have both strong and weak 'dog' aspects. In Nahuatl the word tonalli is used to refer both to a day and to the animal associated with that day. The nagual is considered different; where the tonal is the day spirit itself, the nagual is the familiar spirit of the day. It is probable that the tonal represents the daytime aspect and the nagual the nighttime aspect of the tonalli, 'the things of the day'. Practitioners of powerful magic were normally born on days related to animals with a strong or harmful aspect. They would have specific tonals such as the jaguar or puma. In Aztec mythology the god Tezcatlipoca was the protector of Nagualism, because his tonal was the jaguar and he governed the distribution of wealth.

some videos to make a little more interesting and less boring information. The video is in Spanish you only need to watch it, it does not require understanding Spanish. With this we will be able to make the maps and biomes of the game.(At least parts of the biodiversity of Mesoamerican Mexico) -

I found a chronicle of Pedro de Alvarado's fight against a Salvadoran Pipil tribe.

What I think the Lencas used were spears and clubs and war paint. I don't know if they used slings. -

We have to go thinking about the Mayans too.

I also liked praetorians battalions, They can be reduced into smaller groups according to casualties. -
