  1. New (playable) mockup map added to the game. Should be a good example for the scripters. Nile River Characterized as a water map only because the river is broad and in this case cannot be crossed by shallows, putting civs on either side of it at some disadvantage. If co-located to side with enemies, the only allied help that can come would have to transport across the riverA good map for 3v3 teaming together or a good one for 1v1 initially defensive because of the breadth of the river. The river as the staff of life enters the map from the south falling over an impassable cataract waterfall (the 1st Cataract) then flows on northward to approximately where it would begin dividing in the delta but in this case terminates at the edge of the map.Crocodiles and Hippos can occasionally be a hazard to hominids immediately adjacent to river banks. As is the case for oases type maps, animal and wood bearing resources as well as farmable land are imbalanced toward the waterside, diminishing away from it while the converse is true for mineral resources.Civ Territories are divided proportionately along either side of the river (this map won't play for 3-player).Starting Civ Centres are most likely to fall closer to the river than away from it. Flora Objects (Trees and Plants): Date PalmSenegal Date PalmPistachioPomegranateDead PalmDead ConiferDead Deciduous Fauna Objects (Animals): CrocodileLionBearCheetahGazelleHippopotamusPartridgeRabbitChickenOstrichOryxGoatSheepHorseCamel I added the suggested Ostrich to the fauna lists (Desert and Savanna). Also added Hippopotamus to the Savanna, Desert (only African desert types), and Tropic biomes.
  2. I think the slinger animation is 'ok' as long as we can animate the sling along with it. Shouldn't be too hard and doesn't require screwing with the existing biped animation. Ideally we'd have 2 or 3 good new slinger animations to choose from, but I'm saying the existing one is workable if need be.
  3. We can still use Janus for Alpha X, which requires a 'J' title.
  4. And the shield? The inscription on Sir Richard's shield?
  5. The team has a clear favorite in our internal thread for this. We can still be swayed by a good suggestion though.
  6. Our pathfinding system need reworked. That's what's causing the lag. I'd recommend playing 1v1 until it's fixed.
  7. Need something more Roman. :/ I like Janus, but in Latin it's Ianus, which has unfortunate connotations in English.
  8. Gosh. We should all hang out sometime and have a beer!
  9. I'm wondering why the selection group name must be forced to be a certain name (the basic form of the unit). If we have to specify it in the entity template like that, why can't it be anything we wanted? I know there is a reason why, but I am wondering if it has to be that way and if it logically has to be that way.
  10. Delete the map (with the delete key), then run SVN Update on the maps folder.
  11. How big is it? Perhaps Mediafire or something.
  12. Welcome, kind sir. I too love ancient history, especially Greek history. I'm glad you like the game!
  13. Yup. This should be fixed as of 40 hours ago.http://trac.wildfiregames.com/changeset/11026
  14. It's been fixed (I believe). SVN Update and see.
  15. I think palisades though, if we implement them, will be restricted to player's territory.
  16. Our other portrait artist, Lana, is doing Alexander for us, is what Erik meant. The Alexander portrait in the game is definitely getting replaced.
  17. I'd like to know what kind of car weighs 6 tons.
