Great job with the stable. For a side note about the elephants as a drop site, they should have a limited resource capacity. Afterwards, they would shuttle it to a fixed one. The advantage could be in the fact that they are faster than the average citizen soldier when they shuttle. Once they drop it off, they would return to the position for a drop site.

That depends entirely on the map size. By the way, what I meant by foraging for food would be a kind of foraging that would restore stamina and not yield food for your civilization.

This topic is made in order to help give more balance to the game. Please give good explanations for your opinions and perhaps a logical solution that would make the underpowered civilization better if they should be more powerful.
-
Actually, an Etruscan civilization would be pretty nice to have.
-
Probably it would be the Tulips of Holland.
-
Just to point out, it would be nice to have icons for the different kinds of attacks instead of capital letters. For instance, the the hack attack icon could show a sword, the pierce attack icon an arrow or spear head, the crush attack a ram. For the hack armor icon there could be a breastplate for hack, a shield for pierce, and I don't have a single idea for crush.

Agreed. I did not mind seeing my troops have to kill every last bloody soldier they ran into.
-
Also, perhaps soldiers could 'forage' for food by hunting, farming, or collecting berries.

Is there a good reason for stamina to be shown on the unit's GUI?
-
I think that the food idea is great to have, but it is extremely doubtful to have it be implemented. Let us only pray that some person will make a mod for that. I would say that having citizens and soldiers surrender should only be available if a player resigns.

I still would agree that ranged units are in general to powerful with their attacks. They should have more range, but should be far more ineffective in combat than they presently are with the amount of damage they give. (Especially to infantry) Melee soldiers should be the decisive factor in any engagement.

I would still say that ambushes should be able to be launched by units other than merely Iberian ones. It would be good if the Celts also could ambush and the same for particular units such as javelin-throwers and Cretans. Iberians we all know are famous for it, but that should not mean that it is exclusively their ability. Instead, they should only be the best of all Civilizations, being able to use truly any unit to do an ambuscade.

That is what reconnaissance is for with your cavalry.

I disagree. It seems like a really cheap mechanic to use in a real time strategy game that revolves around warfare not espionage, which was fairly insignificant at that time of the first part. Maybe ninjas could be added in as an easter egg unit though.
-
Agreed. That should especially affect chariots.
-
The Hittites never had their charioteers ride in the chariots during long distance trips. The men that they trained were also very disciplined and tough

Kleisthenes or Cleisthenes, founder of Athenian democracy.

This is just one thought, but perhaps there could be a part 1.5 for 0 A.D. In this part, the Achaean League, Macedonia (from the times of Philip the V and Perseus), the Aetolian League, the Seleucids, possibly the Illyrians, Carthaginians, Romans, Ptolemies, Celts, Iberians, and Maccabees could be included.
-
I was just wondering, but when you mentioned an idea for the Seluecids was the hero planned, (Antiocus the IV Epiphanes) the very same Antiochus Polybius said was known as Epimanes?
-
By the way, which of the civilizations would you say is the toughest to play against?
-
Out of sheer curiosity though, does that mean that part one will be modified so that there will be these features on it when part two is released?
-
Note, the Carthaginians were a republic not an empire. Otherwise, very well done with the design.
-
Actually, it still is.
-
I think that triggers could arrange that for you.

It seems that it would be krios (accent on the omicron) zylou (accent on the first upsilon). Do not think that this is necessarily accurate as I am not very fluent in ancient Greek.
