  2. Hi folks, the second RC for A27 is out. Thanks for testing the RC1. At this point we are not going to include balance changes in A27, we are only fixing breaking bugs. There is a chance that we release this weekend if no big bugs are found, so the timing for your testing weekend might not be the best. We could wait for after the weekend in case your match session allows us to detect breaking bugs, but it would be better if you could start testing as much as possible. If issues are found in the next days we'll do our absolute best to have a RC3 ready for testing on Sunday.

  3. This I'm sure it's true, but -1 hack is still ~3times lower then the +x0.5 counter they lost from a26. (Champ cavs taking ~+5/6% dps but inf spears deal ~-17%). Champ cavs have just been buffed, relatively to their counters. As @Itms said it's too late for balancing, but it's great and exciting to have a27 out!! But I'm kinda expecting that champ cav will be banned by mp hosts often, as some hosts already ban them in a26 lately (even in vanilla).

  4. moving the discussion of champ cav back here, @Atrik @chrstgtr @Feldfeld I did some testing to compare the case where standard champ spear cav are outnumbered 2 to 1 by regular CS spearmen (40 spears and 20 champ cav). Both were not upgraded and unaffected by any team or civ bonuses. The -1 hack armor change in a27 makes for a more sizeable difference than I expected, with an average of 12 spearmen surviving the battle compared to an average of 8.3 champ spearcav surviving the battle in a26+com mod. It seems the decreased hack armor allows the melee rank ups to compound faster, which effectively punishes the champ cav player the longer they stay in a bad fight.

  5. I don't think counters should be changed. My proposition would be to nerf melee champ cav HP to 250. With new player placement option, in many situations it will be possible to go for champions without temporarily putting an ally in a bad spot. I'm confident there will be many cases where they are good to make.
