  1. Hello! I'm Mah-Dry-Bread, I've been doing video game videos on YouTube for going on 7 years now and currently do it as a full time job. I also do some voice acting on the side. I wanted to offer to help out however I can. I've been a lifelong fan of RTS games and 0 A.D. really caught my interest after a fan told me about the game and I gave it a try. I went to the official YouTube page and saw that not much gets uploaded there, and the few bits of gameplay there seem to be a bit choppy, and seemed to be recorded by someone who wasn't the most comfortable in front of a live microphone. I wanted to offer my help. I'd be interested in doing some regular videos on the game, both for the official channel and for my own channel to help promote the game. I'm not asking for pay, I just want to do my part to help the game grow. Despite being in an alpha state, it's genuinely better than some RTS's that I've paid quite a bit for. I'd be more than happy to do tutorial videos, gameplay videos, live streams, and even voice acting if there is a need for any of that. My only rule is that if we are to do live streams, I can't do them on Twitch.tv. I'm a Hitbox.tv first party partner, so I'm not able to stream video games on other websites. That said, Hitbox.tv has a large international viewer base so it might actually help in spreading the game to people who aren't native English speakers more than it would on Twitch. If anyone involved is interested, just let me know! I tweeted at your official Twitter earlier and the person running it told me to come here to discuss this. Thanks for hearing me out everyone, and have a nice day!

  2. I don't had anything specific in mind for multiplayer. It's maybe just because I think that multiplayer games are way more interesting than single-player games. They are more dynamic, more surprising and more challenging (even though wraitii, mimo and the others did a very good job with the AI ) . My comment about tutorial videos was just my personal preference. If you have something in mind, go ahead and give it a try.

  4. Thank you very much for uploading the mod on github! I just had a little test and it went smoothly! Love the music, and the presentation screen. The towncenter is gorgeous, and most of the buildings too. However some of the buildings could have the egyptian drawings/paintings a little more "clear" (right now it looks blurry, if I compare it to the ptolemies buildings). I also have a small problem with the theban/ Ramessid palace which is completely blurry and pixelated when GSL is active. Without GSL is cool though. Otherwise, I really love the units too, especially the pharaoh (but the priests skins could be changed). On the whole, a really good work, and I can only cheer you on to keep on working on this very cool mod, because it's definitely worth it!

  5. I've pushed a couple of commits to the repo on GitHub. As long as you're comfortable acquiring the mod from there, Aristeia should (heh) work with the current A20 release without any problems. That's alright. I'm a terrible artist. We all have things we struggle with. I don't mind doing the scripting so long as I have a clear idea of what the end result should be. The list of proposed civs for the mod, along with the current design documents, can be found here. Sometime ago I implemented the scripting side of the New Kingdom Egyptian civ as close to the design documentation as I could (at the time). All that's left to do there IMO is the art/texturing/etc. I was considering starting to implement the scripting for... uh... the Assyrians, I think... but then @Zophim (author of the design docs) posted this so I elected to wait. And that was a year ago. He does say that he encourages the research into and collection of information regarding the civs. So if there's a civ on the above list that you wish to research... go for it.

  6. Very nice. I really like the look of the Seleucid buildings. Incidentally, d'you maybe want to remove the Macedonian props from the `death` variant in the actor file? At the moment this happens when the market is destroyed in-game: Yep, the Macedonian barracks pops in for the ride into the ground! (Appears on the death of the Seleucid barracks as well, although that's not as obvious.)

  10. I actually have a patch that will set game speed on -autostart but I was also trying to figure out how to accomplish this w/ hotkeys, something like: <object hotkey="speed5"><action on="Press">Engine.SetSimRate(5);</action></object> It would seem like this would be possible. +1 for hot keying speeds. Edit: attached a small working mod for #4 (POC) ... 0ad-speed-mod.zip Edit: also adding the -autostart patch, was rather interesting watching this situation unfold as a test ... pyrogenesis -autostart="random/continent" -autostart-speed=1000 -autostart-ai=1:petra -autostart-ai=2:petra -autostart-aidiff=1:0 -autostart-aidiff=2:5 0ad-autostart-speed.patch

  11. I think your definition big temple is smaller than my big temple. haha, well this was a fun way to spend a Saturday, at least. I would love to squeeze in some fountains, but I'm already really pushing the wonder size limit...
