  1. Here is my vlog where I talked about 0 AD a bit, thought you might be interested. I've had a few viewers tell me they've since tried and enjoyed the game and they're looking forward to my stream of it! Sorry about the lower than usual microphone quality in that video. It was the middle of a heatwave so I had to have the A/C full blast and that caused the white noise removal to mess with the "S" noises of my voice a bit. Also I had some mild heatstroke.
  2. Alright, it's been about a month and I've had two heatwaves and a throat infection. That was pretty awful. Now that I'm back to 100% though, I think I'm finally ready to start on some 0 A.D. stuff in the coming week. After thinking about it for a while, I'm thinking that perhaps I'll use monday's Vlog to set up a day where I'll stream the game and anyone is invited to play it with me. Since the game is free I'm sure we'll get quite a few people who want to play. I think that would be a good way to garner some interest in the game from the people already on my channel to start.
  3. I might do that soon just so that I get something on the channel 0 A.D. related. The sooner I start attracting people who are interested in 0 A.D. to the channel, the sooner I'll have people around that would want to participate in 0 A.D. related things. It's a shame that I'm having technical issues connecting to the Hitbox servers at the moment, because I bet streaming live matches with fans would be a big hit. My viewers always have a ton of fun when they get to play games with me on the live stream.
  4. That's common on YouTube, that the players will be average. It's usually because they play so many different games on the show that they don't have time to really get good at specific ones. I think what matters most is that they stay consistent. If the channel is based around high quality gameplay, they should take time to focus on a game and become better at it, and if the show is mostly about the personalities or showing off new games, being average at the games is just fine. What matters most is that people find new games through their channels.
  5. Hey everyone, just as an update, I've been having awful internet issues recently and I've been troubleshooting them with Rogers, my ISP. Seems like the cables in the area may have gotten messed up after some high winds. It's delaying my job a bit since I can't stream like this. I still keep this window open every day to make sure I'm easy to context if you have any questions or want to throw ideas at me.
  6. SerugiuHellDragoonHQ emailed back, he just said: " Regarding your private message you sent me via YouTube. I don't know why they sent you to me. I am playing 0 A.D. from time to time but I have no Official link with them. " I get the feeling that means "I'm not interested" considering I never asked for him to have any official link to you guys, but I'll try and clarify it with him anyway.
  7. Mandi is a voice actress and she is fluent in German. I don't know how comfortable she is with the older forms of the languages, but knowing her she is always up to trying new things. Want me to direct her to this thread? Also I'm more than happy to do voice acting if you want me too, but I literally only speak modern English so I'd need a ton of direction, so I'm not sure if I'm what you're looking for. My fiancée is fluent in Arabic and French if that helps.
  8. My composer friends? They don't really do online stuff. They do voice acting for some Flash Games and sometimes soundtracks for indy games, but they don't do YouTuber stuff. If you're looking for voice acting or more music I could put you guys in contact with them, but if we're just talking about video stuff, they don't do that.
  9. I appreciate the offer, I might take you up on it at some point. I use Adobe Audition for all of that stuff, and I've got a couple of friends who are experienced with that type of thing, as one is a composer and voice actress and the other is an audio engineer. It never hurts to get more opinions from experienced people though. Thanks!
  10. Hey, just an update. I may or may not have strep throat coming on. My fiancée has it and I'm starting to feel a bit sick, so I may be getting it but I'm not 100% sure. If so, it might be a week or so before I can record again, so the test tutorial type thing might take a couple weeks. I'll try and get it done much sooner if I dodge this bullet. In the mean time, this is a tutorial type thing teaching the very basics of a game about a year ago: That's the one that ended up netting me the first result on YouTube for the game. Also about half of the first page of videos on YouTube for it are mine, strangely enough. darn fun game by the way for anyone who hasn't played it. Also my audio quality is a lot better now than it was in that video, I've been learning a lot about audio engineering and I just got a new proper studio headset earlier this week to help me with EQ.
  11. I can try, but you'd be blown away at how many YouTubers just don't respond to other YouTubers who are smaller than them. Most just either don't have the time to look into their channel to see if they'd like to hang out and play games, or just don't want to.
  12. I actually have next to no friends in YouTube who are even remotely as well known as I am, and I'm very small fry. I have tons of people on my show who are my friends, but most either don't do YouTube stuff or have under 500 subscribers. I'd love to do big collaborative videos on strategy games like this with other big YouTubers, but I'm a complete nobody. Unfortunately on YouTube, some channels get big after a year and some stay small for over 6 years. I have some very hardcore viewers, just not a ton of them.
  13. I think that's literally the first time I've ever been called a professional. Usually I just get snide comments about not having a "real job" or cynical people who just assume I just want publicity. I feel like I speak for a lot of smaller YouTubers like myself when I say that most of us just love video games and want to give back in some way, and that's why we try to find games that get less attention that deserve more.
  14. I could do that. It helps that I've played those other series so I know where people are coming from. I'm a huge Age of Empires fan, I played quite a bit of Empire Earth 2, and Rise of Nations is criminally underrated.
