Archaeological potpourri
Genava55 replied to Gurken Khan's topic in Introductions & Off-Topic Discussion
Not really, the dating of such structures is clearly falling in the Holocene. They are dating the underwater structures thanks to the dating of the environmental changes, notably a marine transgression in the case of Britanny. 1797401694_Fouquetetal_2025_IJNA.pdf It is not undermining the consideration we have for them. It is simply a description of their lifestyle. Using another label requires proving they are not hunter-gatherers. -

I very much agree, but more work and interest should go into these discoveries. And we shouldn't narrow the field by calling the people that built them hunter-gatherers. It's interesting that many massive structures are found in deep waters, while others are buried in sand or sediment. This indicates that they were standing at least for 12 000 years, even before the last Ice age. -

Archaeological potpourri
Genava55 replied to Gurken Khan's topic in Introductions & Off-Topic Discussion
I don't see why it should be unbelievable. It looks similar to the Blinkerwall structures in the Baltic Sea which was mostly used to trap animals. Also the idea that hunter-gatherers were unable to build massive structure should be revised. See the Carnac stones for example. -
Here are some changes I could think off the top of my head: 1.Hero bonuses should apply to the hero itself as well 2.The Kushite eco pyramids should have 75 metal and stone cost in p1, 10-15% less build time but reduced 10% bonus. in p2 the pyramids should be 100 stone and metal and give 15% bonus and the build time in A27. alongside this, the range of the pyramids should increase from 40 in p1 to 55 in p2 (an option to upgrade the p1 pyramid should be provided same way sentry towers become stone towers) 3.return archers to a26 state for testing right now, and see what changes are needed after that 4.make the Ostracism tech cost 200 metal 5.Reduced time for construction of Gymnasium in p3 compared to p2 (15%) 6.Increase required exp for City Guards by 15%

1250: sword and spear are similar melee units that is useful to make meat shield. 1300: swordmen is good to crack rams. 1350: if you want to go full pop attack with rams at min 13-14, an enemy with swordmen is harder to crush. In this strategy it is common to postpone hack resistance upgrade in favor to earlier attack, but swordmen in enemy is strong in hack attack. 1400: when rushing with melee cav, run if you see spearmen, fight if you see swordmen. I think Iberian having swormen is important to balance out the initial wall defence. If iberian has spearmen, it becomes almost impossible to rush them. 1500+: thoughts?

Just your average 120-meter long granite block built or carved by some ancient, primitive tribe thousands of years ago. "Nothing suspicious about this, move along." - Mainstream archeology. -
Could you share the error ? According to https://gitea.wildfiregames.com/0ad/0ad/issues/8402 sound might also have been fixed by 26.2

7000-Year-Old Sunken Discovery Points to European Megalithic Construction Centuries Earlier Than Previously Thought Off the western coast of France, archaeologists have discovered a sunken granite Mesolithic wall nine meters below sea level, which evidence suggests was constructed close to 7,000 years ago. The 120-meter-long structure is one of several prehistoric artificial features of its era that have been found in the region, with other similar structures known to exist nearby. The discovery, which was made near Île de Sein in Brittany, was recently detailed in a study that appeared in the International Journal of Nautical Archaeology. -

The bottom corner of my mouse cursor works, not the top end
Husgaard replied to Lowopacity's topic in Bug reports
I have found a workaround when this happens: Press Alt-Enter to exit full screen mode. Ensure the 0ad window is active. Place cursor in upper left corner of the screen. Press Alt-Enter to enter full screen mode again. -
Probably yeah it's one of the models with unfinished business

Perhaps we can reuse the models but come up with a new cloth player color pattern.

Some of them IIRC only the clothes

What do you think 0 A.D. lacks?

"Barbarians" also used formations and army groups (bands, squads, regiments, battalions, myriads, etc.). -
So, it reuses the Ptolemy props?

Probably one of the more egregious examples I've seen. Some thought and code should be put into this at some point. It's been an issue since territory was first introduced, but it's never been a priority item. I think the code should decide when to "vacuum" closed these holes and choose how to assign it to someone. Might be more complicated than we think, but worth looking into.

Thanks @Göndolsalv, disabling GPU skinning did the job! :-)

Hi @Mar.x, welcome to the forums. My only guess would be to try Vulkan as renderer. Your logs could be of interest. https://gitea.wildfiregames.com/0ad/0ad/wiki/GameDataPaths
